Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location with a nice walk, next to the sea, into the Piran. Modern hotel with a good breakfast and friendly staff.

GermanyAs you reach the hotel, you will find that parking is a real issue – there are not enough parking lots for all 50+ rooms, and the area is popular for going to the beach; the public parking lots charge 15 € per day, and fill up as well. The elevator is small and old, and does not inspire much confidence; most guests only use it to bring their luggage to / from the rooms – it’s only three storeys max… The rooms are small for two people, in particular the wardrobe – it looks like it is rather made for a stay of a few days than for a week or two. The bathrooms are very small (except for the shower), with no place to put toiletries (well, on the cistern of the toilet…) – two people will struggle to use it at the same time.
The hotel is located right on the beach (well, what goes as ‘beach’ in Slovenia – basically a concrete deck up to the sea), with all rooms having a sea view. It is still within easy reach of the centre of Piran, reached by a path along the coast. The reception is friendly and efficient. Once you are checked in, you walk through the breakfast room and up a ramp to a single elevator that takes you up to the rooms in the main building; All rooms face the sea. Some rooms face the lake and the coastline of Piran (x06 to x09), the rest is built to face more towards the sea - which makes little difference in terms of the views, but keeps the sun out more. The rooms have a little fridge / minibar; the WiFi works; there is a hair dryer with US sockets. The beds are good, but only have a single pillow type. There are opaque curtains to keep the daylight out; they leave light through at the sides and the top, but do a reasonable job. It is very quiet at night (unless the other hotel guests aren’t…), so all set for a good night’s sleep. A simple but reasonable breakfast buffet is included in the room charge, with seating inside and on a terrace facing the beach and the sea. During the day and in the evenings, reasonable food can be had at the restaurant; the service is efficient (no long waiting times).

NetherlandsThe hotel could use an update. The sunbeds are all a bit broken and not very comfortable. The rooms are clean, but the hallways are a bit old and dirty (cobwebs and hair everywhere). For the price, you would expect a bit more.
The staff was super friendly and amazing. The breakfast is very good. The location is perfect, Piran is just a small and pleasant walk away. The terrace by the ocean is really nice too, a perfect place to swim, enjoy the sun and relax.

United KingdomParking is a pain!!, the hotel offers a valet garage service for €19 a night or a nearby public car park at €15 per day. They need to do better to have the spaces near the hotel available. We travelled in August , so peak season but still expect better availability for such a big hotel.
The location is fabulous with a great sea view stretching from the bay of the hotel to the old town of Piran, the fiesa walk takes about 10 mins and you are in the hubbub of the old town. Food options at the hotel are good and the prices are very reasonable. The hotel decor is fresh funky and quite cool. Room had an amazing view, really good spec bathroom and a fresh feeling.

AustriaThe room was rather expensive and somehow I missed reading on booking.com that dogs are an additional surcharge of 15€ per night. It all adds up, and it would have been appreciated if this cost was simply embedded in the overall nightly rate.

United StatesNot good for anyone with mobility issues - lots of stairs to get anywhere - for example, to get to the WC from the bar there are two flights of stairs. There are lots of steps between levels and ridges at thresholds, no grab-bars in the bath, water access down slippery steps after walking across a slippery deck. Some bannisters, but not all stairs have them. No sand beach.
Terrific location on a quiet stretch of coast very close to the busy tourist area of Piran and Portoroz. A mile walk or a €14 cab ride from the Piran town center. Beautiful clean ocean for swimming right in front of the hotel. Lovely balconies off the rooms, lovely terraces for breakfast and bar/ food in the afternoon and evening. Great staff!

SerbiaThe room was the smallest one I've ever been. I should pay more attention while I was making the reservation.
Hotel team was helpful, friendly, always at our service. Breakfast was OK, the table was full. The hotel was right on the beach and not far from the old city. At the beach there were enough sun beds and umbrellas. It was easy to access water. I liked the best the hotel staff, location, and the hotel parking.

ItalySeeing the price of the room, the parking should definitely be included in the rate and not to be paid extra (19.00 euros per day)
Very nice hotel, located just in front of the beach so it takes 3 minutes to go from your room to the sea. Breakfast was good and fresh. Our room was big enough and with a very nice view both of the nearby lake and of the sea. All the staff was very polite and helpful. The bar on the beach has a good menu with good prices.
