Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaThe rest room was not so clean as we expected. The curtain in the bathroom was not a good solution as during the shower you did not have enough space because it was sticking on our body. There was a problem with stuffy air in the room and when it was windy outside we could not sleep because of the noise. There were little ants inside the room you couldnt leave some food anywhere.
There were enough parking spots. We could see nice view on the sea from the window and also our car. Although the accomodation was 2km from Piran center, it was a nice walk through the streets of Piran.

Czech RepublicDifficult arrival. Address Ivana Regenta 40 is hard to find as the street is not numbered sequentially, You find easily No.38 and right next door is No.44. Host's phone was inaccesible, so we at least 20 minutes wandered around and asked neigbors. Finally we realized that backyard of No.40 is in side street, but entrance and parking lot are accessible only from Belokriska cesta. I do not understand why so essential information is not included in apartment description.
Small room sufficient for few days stay. Quite nice place only 15 minutes by feet from old town.

GermanySince the main road to and from Piran is in front of the apartment, it gets a bit noisy in the morning when you sleep with an open window.
The room is fully equipped (also with kitchen stuff), clean and offers a great view. From the terrace of La Rocca you can also see the Adriatic. In the garden you may pick a chair and have breakfast or can hang your clothes. The Old town is a 10 minutes walk away. La Rocca’s atmosphere is private and easy-going.

HungaryI didn't see a selection of the rooms. While ours was clean, and while we were happy to stay there, it would probably need a bit of tlc soon - shower a bit old and starting to show a little mould, no towel hooks in the bathroom. These are very minor points for us, but everyone has their own personal standards and limits.
We had an excellent stay at LaRocca - it is a perfect way to see Piran. The hotel is located about 20 minutes walk from the city, which suited us. We could park there for free and walk into the city. It may not suit everyone, since the location of LaRocca is above (with some steep roads) Piran, and the local beaches. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They helped us to settle in and feel comfortable, and they gave us plenty of good tips for local things to do, beaches to visit, etc. The room we had was spacious and comfortable. The view from the terrace is just amazing, and I was happy to sit there with a beer and take it all in. Highly recommended

GermanyRoom is pretty small and basic. Interior is a little old and would benefit from renovation. For us it was ok, but it is nothing to impress.
Location on top of the hill with a view over the bay is definitely the best feature of this property. Really enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the evening. Host was friendly and check in was easy. Parking is quite difficult in Piran, but here you can conveniently park on the premises. Not too far from the old town (about 15 minutes walk). It is pretty steep, which for us was no big deal, but should definitely be considered by some.

Czech RepublicOur room did not have any view - the window led to a narrow hallway of the courtyard. Bathroom is rather old, the shower curtain needs fixing. It almost fell off.
The whole building is well located 15-20 min walk from the sea. There is enough parking. Most of the rooms probably have a nice view.

Polandnothing really if you don't expect to be right in the town centre; all was good
This accommodation is not in the centre, around 15-20 mins walk away, but the plus is if you are driving it has a very comfortable and free parking. Also, it's more or less the same distance on foot to Piran centre and to Portoroz. There's a nice terrace and a small garden outside with a pretty view on the sea and Croatia. The room was fine, it had all we needed. It has a great kitchen annex with a fridge and modern stove that cooks everything very fast. We managed to prepare a festive Easter breakfast without any problem:)

BelgiumMinimalist reception, without sympathy. Kitchen equipment totally rudimentary and incomplete. Practically impossible to cook on site. A simple electric hob plugged into a multi-socket just next to the sink and placed on top of the old hobs. The electrical safety seems questionable.
