Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The room was ok. I did not get to eat in the restaurant or order food as I ate outside of the hotel restaurant.

FranceThere should be a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival, that is the minimum for a hotel of this class. The management should consider refurbishing the old aisle, as they did with the other one.
Despite a delayed arrival (one day), the hotel kept my reservation but did not charge me for the missed stay (I informed them the same day due to my cancelled flight) and I much appreciated the gesture. 2nd stay there and always nice personnel. The Japanese restaurant is a real bonus.

AustraliaA pity no breakfast was available, but we managed to walk to Palm Sugar and that was a lovely discovery. Would have been good to have a few more coffee bags, for me the coffee addict! A little tired in the bathroom. Some fixing would be good.
Rooms had the facilities as required - comfortable bed, good bathroom facilities. We were very grateful for effective air conditioning! Quiet and perfectly adequate.

Cayman IslandsThere is no way to actually make it better. The environment is enjoyed for the fact that the waters are warm, safe and protected, the people are friendly, the diving is good and the underwater photography provides wonderful opportunities for great photos. But this country is off the beaten path. It is difficult for me to get there quickly. I live in the Cayman Islands so I have to travel for three days each way. People coming from Australia have a much easier travel schedule. Don't depend on what you might need to have to enjoy your trip. Arrive fully prepared.
The basics are primitive -- very small selections of food, modest accommodations -- nothing fancy, but clean and adequate for bed and bathroom. I and my group were there only for a stopover before meeting our live-aboard boat for our ten-day diving excursion in the Solomon Islands. Honiara is a very crowded, primitive area. But it is a necessary stop over before and after joining our live aboard dive boat. I enjoy the wonderful underwater areas that we dove in for photography. The islands are extremely primitive. Most without much electricity or running water. They live as they have lived for hundreds of years in the outer islands. I have lead groups to this destination twenty times.

New ZealandWe were staying on the ground floor with sea view but guests and staffs were moving freely outside our room hence limited privacy. Also, it seems that the hotel was more focused on hosting special events than caring about house guests- no one even checked us out following the earthquake and tremors which followed.
Only exception was Ms. Jeen , Reservations Manager and night securitywho provided us the personal touch to the services provided.

New ZealandThe price was extremely high for the limited services available . The pool had been emptied and was not available to use, I think the room price should have to reflect this with a discount as it is false advertising, my choice on booking this hotel for the pool due to the lovely hot temperature. So this was quite disappointing
The staff were so lovely and helpful. The Solomon island people are so lovely. I luckily had power the whole time with no city wide blackouts. I enjoyed the buffet breakie - although the price did not reflect the selection available

AustraliaFacilities were old and bad. Refrigerator looks very old. Room and bathroom walls are not maintained, paints looks too old perhaps last painted 10-12 years ago. Some of the timbers had long huge cracks. There were no shower, and face towels delivered to my room. I had to go to the reception and ask for towels. The overall condition of the room l was in look more of a one (1) star motel in Australia. The restaurant service was terrible. I had to cancelled my dinner order due to the fact l waited for well over one hour and my dinner was not ready. I cancelled my dinner order and left.
