Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaIn general excellent hostel, very comfortable, very cozy, great attention and stuff... the only one thing that I would like to suggest is that: would be better if the beds have curtains (nothing complicated) with 2 purposes; to be more private and to make that the inner light of the bed, don't disturb other guests.

IndiaNot giving registration paper to foreigner during departure & Disconnecting important phone calls when a person is in trouble. I booked a hotel in Moscow after my stay in Netizen Hostel and they asked me to leave as I did not have my registration paper. Registration is to be done by the hostel, hotel or apartment owner where the foreigner stays and it is not possible to know Russian laws without Russian language for a foreigner in Russia. So when I arrived at the hotel they asked me to call Netizen Hostel and ask them to send my registration papers. When I called Netizen the lady at the reception disconnected my call and was unable to find my registration paper because of which I was asked to leave the hotel and I had to come back to Netizen to find my papers as the hostel staff could not find it. Next morning the hostel staff member found it but I was in a big trouble and could not stay at a better place which I had booked. I would request staff members to inform foreigners arriving at the property about registration. If a foreigner is found without registration by the police 5000 Rubles is the fine and the Hostel owner can be fined for 50000 Rubles. This is Russian Law and hostel staff members should give the registration papers to foreigners before leaving their hostel and inform about it when a foreigner arrives at the property. I was extremely upset and disturbed for one full day because of it.
If you are a foreigner coming to Netizen - Ask for Denis and Olya at the Reception. Denis & Olya are one of the best people you will meet at Netizen Hostel. Denis helped me when I was hungry late at night. He ordered food for me using his bank card as cash is not accepted in Russia's Food Delivery Apps. Then we had a long talk about Russia, places to see in Moscow & the countryside, Russian culture. He also told about his city and shared with me his number in case I needed any help anytime during my travels as I did not speak Russian and it is extremely difficult to travel as a foreigner when you speak English in Russia. He met me in the hostel but became a life long friend. This was the second time I visited Netizen and Olya again helped me to book taxis, checking out the best ways to go in the metro and we also had a very nice chat about youtube, journalism and Russian culture. There was an issue with my registration as the hostel was unable to find my papers and she made it sure to tell every staff member to find it for me so that I don't have any trouble while travelling Russia. Olya! You're the BEST! Nadya is the girl responsible for the registration of foreigners. If you are a foreigner then make sure you collect your registration paper from Nadya before departing the hostel as it is mandatory for a foreigner to have it if staying in Russia for more than 7 days. She found my old registration and made a new registration for the new stay without any questions. But she is a little strict with laws and rules so make sure you don't ask her any questions relating to that. Security Guy (KGB of Netizen Hostel) - If you want to see or meet Russia Secret Service agent kindly see and observe the Security Man at Netizen. He is watching you like an Eagle (24 hours and 365 days). Just look at him once or Stare at him and trust me - you will fall in love with Netizens Security Guy. Best Security Service in Russia.

IndiaI would just suggest to check the bed sheets before check-in a guest at late night hours because my sheet had black spots on arrival. But next day morning when I informed the cleaning ladies it was changed immediately. Cleaning ladies had to be told always to clean the premises, change the towels and sheets, though I think it should be done every morning themselves. But once anyone asked for a towel or cleaning, it was done immediately. So no issues with anything but just a suggestion to better improve the services of the hostel for the future.
I arrived at late night hours around 1 AM and Christine welcomed me at the hostel, She was extremely helpful in explaining everything about the hostel facilities. Then I stayed for 2 nights and extended my stay for 4 more nights specially because of the helpful staff. Next day in the morning Nadya helped me with understanding the area around the hostel and how everything worked in Russia as I was unable to communicate and get things done as I did not speak Russian, Sapar at the reception did not speak Russian but helped me with clothes washing on time and other necessary things when I needed during the stay. Before my departure I had a problem calling the taxi and I met Olya an extremely kind and helpful person who arranged a taxi quickly for me through her phone and made sure that I could get correct change to pay the driver so that the driver does not trouble me with returning the change money at my destination. I am extremely grateful to such a caring staff at the hostel who are working so hard to make sure their guests have a great time at Moscow during their trip. If you are planning to come to Russia and you do not speak English and feel lost, then book Netizens and meet the lovely staff here to help you with everything. Olya and Sapar are extremely helpful people. There is another boy who works at night hours and speaks very good English. I forgot his name and thank you to him too.

Saudi ArabiaThe bathroom wasn't clear enough,I can't see some hair on the floor. The room was hot, even with air condition on, also I was hearing girls screaming at night and this morning! I had long check in because the reception don't speak English. The reception guy wasn't nice, yesterday at night I came and ordered 4 bottle of water, i don't know, he is kinda angry, he gave me the water and i couldn't hold all of them, he even didn't give me a plactic bag, seems he don't care. Next day I decided to check out early morning, and i meet the same reception with same behavior. I want refund because I stayed 1 night instead of 4.
