There was some renovations going on in one section of the hotel. The wasn’t much noise but it seemed to effect the water in the room, a bit silty looking.

Breakfast was so so. The eggs were cold 2 out of 5 days and the toaster didn’t work. The options were pretty good luckily.

Charming hotel with beautiful ornate finishes and a lovely garden, pool and tennis court. Restaurant is also great. Staff are friendly and assist even though we did not speak any spanish.

the breakfast can improve. The presentation and options should improve to another level of quality. Coffee quality should improve.

it feels like a nice country hacienda, a house surrounded by trees and gardens, , relax environment and wonderfull service and people. Attention is very personal, laundry, room service, etc.. it feels like home

(-) Very loud sadly due to different events. We had a party on Friday and a Wedding on Saturday. The problem was not so much the music as out room was at the opposite end of the hotel. However some of the wedding guests also stayed at the hotel and after the dance were having loud discussions in the patio areas, close to the rooms. I think the hotel should intervene in such cases. Also, there should be a discount for week-ends when parties take place. Given the noise, our stay was too expensive (-) The pool area should have some more comfortable sun chairs (lying) and coffee chairs (sitting) Bottom line, I think that with a few small tricks, processes and

Hard to fault. This is not a luxury hotel as such but it is an experience.

This property looked intriguing online and it did not disappoint. A true heritage hotel at a reasonable price. So much character.

The bed was not comfortable (firm) and the room was small. The breakfast was limited. The location was far from central with lots of traffic to reach central areas in rush-hour.

Outside spaces were attractive and steeped in history. The character of the hotel was impressionable. The pool area special. The ambiance was peaceful

The Gran Hotel del Paraguay is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Asuncion. The rooms are spacious, the gardens are gorgeous, and the pool is nice to relax by. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help!

Food and drink : The staff def need help to improve menus and be trained how to make fresh juice drinks and cocktails too. We tried our best but had to leave so many glasses full and felt bad. Someone really needs to go out to the better cafes and bistros in Asuncion to see how the competition are doing things - bistros and cafes within 500m rival European standards and same with decor - no wonder the restaurant is always empty. You get the feeling on food and drinks that no one behind the scenes cares anymore which is a shame because the hotel is AMAZING - a real oasis with great history!!! I won’t stop staying and I’m here regularly but I will no longer eat here or drink here anything prepared by the kitchen/bar - so sorry so sad 😓

Many of the staff spoke no English so communication was a challenge sometimes. However they did go out of their way to understand what we wanted.

The fact it was an old style hotel with beautiful gardens. Nice to sit outside and relax

The room description said it had a balcony but you couldn't sit on it so I was disappointed. I would definitely upgrade to the next category because those rooms mostly had a seating area outside the room which I would have loved. Gym was not the best Not enough equipment.

Beautiful pool and grounds. Lovely historic hotel. Staff we extremely helpful.Everything was very clean and I would stay here again and definitely recommend it.
