How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The owner, Fikry, was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and gave us great food recommendations. The hostel is really clean and the kitchen is fully equipped and a great place to chat to other people. Would definitely stay again when we are next in Ramallah!

Great hostel with very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent and very quite location in a residential park close to the Abdel Nasser mosque and the fruit market. Highly recommend.

The host is super friendly, helpful and flexible and the communication was really uncomplicated! The location of the hostel is perfect and makes it really easy to enjoy the place! I heard a lot of good things about this place before and it didn’t disappoint us in any way. The rooms were cozy and clean and the common areas are nice to meet other guests.

The only issues I had were with the wifi which is not really something they can control. A lot of that has to do with coverage.
I loved my stay in Ramallah! The location was really great for getting to the city center, there were lots of restaurants around the area, and the property gate and code helped me feel really safe. Also, I got sick during my trip (entirely my fault out of the hostel's control) but the property managers were so kind to me, making every effort to accommodate me and make me feel comfortable. Amazing service.

The location of the property is at the heart of Ramallah town centre with all the shops and amenities at its door step. The property is nicely situated and tucked away from the busy road. The property seems to be newly renovated with everything in good working order. They have a lovely garden to enjoy and relax in the evening as well a common room for all. The owners are very friendly and happy to help with any queries. Definitely one of the best clean hostels I've been too and matches European standards rather than local standards - which is a big bonus.

The Ramallah Hostel staff was very warm and welcoming. We stayed two nights and only can recommend the place in the city center. My overall impression with regards to safety was also a very positive one. If you still are considering going to Ramallah due to safety concerns, it seemed to me to be exceptionally safe even at night.

I hope there are some hooks in the shower booth to hang clothes.

I had a very good time in Ramallah at Thaers place. He is a very nice and easygoing Host. Ramallah is a vibrant and very exciting city. I felt very secure at all time going around. I love the market and if you know some people there is also nice bars.

There is nothing to complain about. I've stayed in many hostels in Europe, and in my opinion Ramallah Hostel has been by far the best one.
The hostel has been established recently. Thus, everything inside/outside is brand new, there are two clean restrooms, a big kitchen, two terraces, a convivial room, and four bedrooms. The building is big enough to not step on each other's toes, which also created a comfortable atmosphere. I liked most the very kind and helpful host Thaer, you won't find a better one I guess. He's all around and directly provides support or advices. If he's not there, you will find Francesca who immediately tries to help. Great team! The hostel is easy to reach from the central bus terminal, or from the sherut taxi drop-off (less than 5 min walk).

Really nothing to say!
The location is great, and the building is exceptionally clean with all facilities included and available: well working wifi, all kitchen appliances (even two different coffee machines!) washing machine, AC conditioner, multiple bathrooms well kept, clean carpets, couches and nice chairs all over the place to relax! beds are comfortable and fresh towels and sheets with blankets are available together with lockers and locks for the most forgetful ones! value for price is absolutely perfect. Taher and his family really go beyond expectations! From providing you with all indications to reach th Hostel villas with ease, and accompany you, explaining about the area, the history and life in the city, as well as local tips and events for the night life and concerts. You can warm up yourself under the sun in the garden around, some couch and sofa in the outside patios and terrace, relax in the main living room or eat and learn as much as you wish about the local life also joining one group or the owners taking you out for breakfast in the weekend :) Amazing, wonderful place. I felt at home all the time. Thank you.
