Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ColombiaCleanliness could be improved, and as many guests decide to et in their rooms, cleanliness and smell is not always great. Port Moresby is not a very safe city, and when you get out of the hotel hte area feel pretty unsafe.
Food and restaurant are good and very well managed.

Papua New GuineaCarpet smelt like it had been washed but not dried. Aircon kept going off automatically every 20 minutes- very annoying. Not enough sugar to match the tea and coffee for those who take 2 x sugars
The view of the beach. The king size bed. The water pressure and hot water. Booking.com worked well. The sink in the room. The coffee mate.

Papua New GuineaUpon check in the duty manager was so ignorant. I asked him if i could put my phone on charge and to rebook my stay and he told me he wasn't able to assist. And I was with my 2 kids. A 3yr old and 11. So we walked around looking for a spot to charge our phone found one and put the phone on charge. Went back to check in and the guy just made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Finally after a few minutes we were checked in. Never liked walking out of the lift and seeing an unwelcomed person at the front. Oh and I was never given a receipt for my stay by that duty manager
The old staff are good they were welcoming when they saw us. Thanks to Simione and Jerian I felt the Grand Papua spirit when I saw them

United StatesThere were several stains on the carpet in my bedroom. I do not blame the maid for this because it's not her job to steam clean the carpets.
I like the included shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. I loved the breakfast brunch. I enjoyed the smiling faces of all the employees.

United KingdomEverything happens incredibly slowly and inefficiently. Check-in was slow, check-out was slower, calling a taxi took half an hour, getting fresh pineapple juice from the bar took 20 minutes.... And the restaurant was ridiculous - huge waits for simple food that doesn't even taste good. Since Port Moresby is not safe to walk around in, you're basically trapped here for long periods, and I think they should invest in better quality in the restaurant and bar so that you can enjoy being there. Staff don't seem to understand that there's anything wrong - they looked mystified when we complained about waiting so long for basic things to be done. Overall, it was just a frustrating place to stay. We got a half-price rate and still didn't feel it was good value for money, so don't even think about paying the full tariff.
The room was comfortable and quiet, and we slept well. The hotel has nice decor and could be excellent if it were better managed. Nice downtown location with sea views from both sides of the hotel.

Papua New GuineaEverything was okay. Only thing I noticed was that the room I had (singe room, twin beds) didn't have amenities like soap or even shampoo. However, they did provide toilet paper and a couple travel sized bottles of lotion. The air conditioning also was an older model and took a second or two to figure out how to turn it on and adjust the temp.
The room was great. Worth the price that we paid for. Plus booking online gives you a good discount as well. Hotel was also near a lot of great restaurants and bars in the Harborside area. Would defs book again

United StatesShuttle from airport never happened, or it did but I hadn't been informed what to look for. They were happy to call my next hotel to pick me up.. Hotel could be anywhere: Not especially Papua New Guinea. You ask about breakfast? Not included. No porch in the penthouse. .
Location overlooking water by a conference center. Taxis, etc know where ihotel s. Clean, quiet. Elevators. Room wasn't ready when I arrived so they upgraded me to a top floor suite. Hotel is 12 years old but has an established feel upon entering. Desk personnel lent me two types of tape to fix rollator breakage from flight.
