Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United Arab EmiratesThere was no bath tub on our room so that's a bummer for me. The staff might need a little bit of training on how to answer to the guest. There were few instances wherein they answered us with "I don't know"(questions about the hotel services), which sort of put us off. They're very polite though.
The resort is an amazing place. The view was spectacular, too bad the weather was not on our side when we visited the country.

Beautiful location on hilltop - do go there with the transport offered by the hotel, as it is a bumpy ride (I made the mistake of coming there with a regular taxi, not a good idea). The views are amazing, even when it is raining and not so clear. When the view was a bit clearer there were sunset drinks on the helipad which was lovely. Staff came across as genuinely super kind and was very professional.

United KingdomNothing. Only one word of advice, to get there, take the hotel’s transfer service. It’s a bit more money but don’t do what we did, which was have our transfer drivers from Pokhara (long story, our flight was cancelled), try to drive up the wrong, very steep, precarious gravel road. The hotel has another access road which is far safer…
We had a fabulous stay at The Terraces and highly recommend it. The location has superb views over Kathmandu (although due to smog we couldn’t see the mountains). The facilities are great and best of all, the team there made our stay more wonderful. In particular Supana on front desk for her organised professionalism and good advice, Aadesh for wonderful morning yoga sessions (complimentary and very worthwhile), and their local hiking guide, whose name we didn’t catch, but who took us on some lovely local walks and berry picking (also complimentary). Food was great and serving staff extremely polite and accommodating. If we ever get back to Nepal, we’ll come back here!

United KingdomThe pool area is not staffed earlier in the day, although people do go there straight after breakfast - so it's difficult to get a drink as it's quite a way from reception to go and ask. I'd also suggest a small amenities shop and maybe a cash machine, as you are not able to quickly get to Kathmandu if you need anything (although the hotel staff were able to help me on this front), or do not have enough cash to pay for tips (for the spa, for example). Although I really enjoyed the spa, the menu of treatments is relatively small, and for a resort this size I'd expect there to be more variety in types of treatments. Finally, the buffet tended to be a bit cold - which is a real shame for the chefs as well as for guests, but can be easily fixed.
I booked The Terraces for a short, luxury break after a long work trip across Nepal and India, and I was extremely pleased I did! The hotel and its surrounding area are stunning, with well-maintained grounds and facilities. My room was enormous and the terrace had an incredible view over Kathmandu - the inclusive snacks and drinks from the minibar were much appreciated! The a la carte menu was delicious. The hotel has a number of free activities you can book and join, ranging from yoga and hiking to sunset drinks and cookery demonstrations. I really enjoyed having spa treatments and the view from the spa is spectacular. The staff are very helpful and kind, right from the point of booking to getting you back to the airport! (Definitely do not book your own transport there or back, as it's not easy getting up that mountain. The hotel transfers are in 4x4s with drivers who know the road so 100% book with the hotel!)

ChinaThe road to the hotel was unexpectedly hard and long. But again, it is so much worth it.
It just exceeded all possible expectations we had. This is the best stay I've ever had. There are the nicest people working at the hotel. You get more than you imagine for this price: sauna, entertainment room with pool, everyday sunset with complimentary drinks, cooking classes, yoga, and the list is not ending. Everything is so authentic and amazing in this place! And special gratitude for having such an amazing yoga and sound healing teacher - if you are into this, you should try his approach to practice.

FranceNote that The Terrace Resort, perched on a mountain, above Bhaktapur, is a place where you absolutely must stay. The road to get there is fabulous, especially for nature lovers, pristine and apparently somewhat respected. Despite the solid wood entrance door which could be a deterrent, you will find very accommodating, kind staff, ready to help you with anything. He inquires about your well-being at all times of the day, at every meeting. Without forgetting the wonderful sunset from the heliport's "view point", enhanced by a different snack every day and various drinks!

The venue is simply amazing! The people, the location, the food, the schedule. You start your morning with yoga, then doughnuts at the local kitchen, and tracking after that. You can do a massage with an exceptional mountain view and finish your day with a jacuzzi and a glass of wine savouring delicious food at the restaurant—best regards to Deepak, an amazing chef. The yoga instructors were also great. BTW forgot to mention the sunset program at the viewpoint next to the hotel - music, beverages and amazing scenery. 11 out of 10! Thank you for the great 4 days! I will be back!

United KingdomIt's a bit hard to get to the hotel and as a foreigner, I didn't find many good options to get up with a big suitcase which wouldn't fit in a regular taxi. I also felt like the price of the car from the hotel was a bit too expensive (75 USD), so I hired a driver recommended by a local friend. I was also a bit disappointed that one of the nights was a dinner buffet, which was not as good as the regular a la carte menu and it seemed like they were kind of running out of food by the time we got there. I forgot the price of the buffet, but it was a lot more than what I had paid for my regular dinner the night before. Some other small suggestions to the team: I wish the doors had better insulation as they let in the cold air which I plugged up with towels at night. I also wished the sauna worked better as it didn't really keep much of the heat in. It would also be great if they heated the pool so we can go in during the winter. That being said, none of these things really affected my wonderful stay and I would totally go back again!
The service went above and beyond our expectations. The staff did absolutely everything for us like provide us packed lunches for our trip to the airport and were extremely gracious towards our requests. The free tour, yoga session, and sundowner (with momos and tea) were also entertaining and set a great vibe for our stay. The food was amazing as well and I really appreciated all the dishes we ate for lunch and dinner. It was also nice to have the on-site sauna and jacuzzi. This is a great place to stay to get a much-needed breath of fresh after you get tired out from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.

Beautiful resort in the mountains outside of Kathmandu. Amazing views and Terrific staff. Spa was lovely, and it was nice to have some free activities including daily yoga and tea/snack on the heli pad every afternoon. United KingdomThe route up to the resort was very difficult to make it through. I would suggest that they invest in paving some of the roads, as it would make guests feel a lot safer on the journey up. The yoga session we attended was also in a dimly lit conference room rather than the view advertised. I would suggest that for the indoor session, if they provide it in a panoramic room rather than closed window room, that would be good.
Beautiful rooms, absolutely beautiful view, sunset helipad was amazing as well. Staff was very very nice. Spa and sauna facilities were great as well. We were taken on a hike personally by the staff, which we loved.

SwitzerlandThe road to the hotel is quite the challenge. For day trips to Kathmandu and/or activities in the area, you need to plan with approx 45-60 minutes each way to get up or down the mountain road. Not an issue once you know about it (and sorted your transportation!) but was a bit unexpected for us.
Stunning property in the mountains near Kathmandu, lovely pool area and fantastic modern and well-designed rooms. We loved the hotel to relax after a long trek and would absolutely come back!
