How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I think tea and coffee in the room would have been appreciated as with being alone I had to go down to the bar

The food was not top notch but okey. Bathroom doors had a minor gap and without locks and a window between bedroom and bathroom.
Spacious and beautiful, clean and great! Loved it.

A bit understaffed; there was 1 person, performing a lot of tasks, so patience is required. The breakfast was not replenished, so at the end, some of the food was "out of stock"

There really weren't any problems at all.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself was wonderfully weird and the restaurant was superb.

Room was cold we got there, it would have been much appreciated if the heating had been turned on prior to our arrival. The rain shower over bath, only gave cool water, to cold to shower in. Hand shower attached to the bath gave decent hot water but this couldn't be fixed anywhere, so you were doomed to constantly hold it. Sink leaked creating a wet spot right in front of the door, not nice to step into when going for a night time wee!!
Hotel location is beautiful, quite and easy to reach by car. The hotel itself is a nicely renovated, original farm house. The is plenty of room to walk the dog should you so need to, but if is as wet as it was when we stayed there then wellies are a must.

The balcony off the room was dated needs updating and would add to the room

The housekeeping walked in on us in the morning, because there was a mix up. Very friendly lady, but not the thing you want right after your wedding. The breakfast was good, but not refilled. Some people (not us) we're left with limited breakfast options and had to wait after asking for more bread to be made. Staff was very friendly about it though. Some elements of the building could use a bit of love. The huge paintings in the hallway are interesting, but bent out of shape a bit and could use replacing. We had to pay extra for a water cooker and a coffee machine in the king's room. Surely a king has a watercooker and coffee machine included ! :) There were cobwebs in the somewhat harder to reach places in the room. It's allright and understandable, but could be better.
We used this accomodation after our wedding. We booked the king's suite, for 150 euros per night. We arrived very late at night at the nightwatchman responded quickly when we rang the doorbell at 03:00 in the morning, which was great. He was friendly and showed us to our room. The bed was of very good quality and excellent size for tall people. I am 2 metres tall and it easily fit me, which was great. The room was decorated in a tasteful way and spacious. This met my expectations for the price. The room was also equipped with a bubblebath and a large balcony. The manorhouse immediately gives a feeling of grandeur. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The mattress was pretty bad, clearly worn out as one half was actually ok, while the other half was unusable. While the old toilet fitted the decor, there is no need to have an old yellowed toilet seat as well. Coffee at the breakfast was disgusting, either these beans are very old or the machine needs more cleaning.
The room was very spacious, with a very large bathroom. There was a nice mix of traditional and modern. The building itself was also very nice. Breakfast was ok. With a few tweaks it could be really good.
