We really enjoyed our stay in Popoyo and this accommodation was definitely one of the reasons! The room is extremely comfortable, bed and shower were amazing. We also used the kitchen very often and we had all the utensils we needed. The facilities were always very tidy and we felt at home. The beach was our backyard with easy access, such a special place. There was also free coffee every morning.

Nothing the property was great ! Just no ATM in popoyo

Super happy with my stay and highly recommend 10/10 Loved my stay at wild waves it’s location is perfect. it is the best location in popoyo as it’s close to the main beach breaks and market. Super chill vibe and peaceful at night. For me one of the best places in Central America and the best place in Nicaragua I’ve stayed. It’s a 25 min walk to beginners bay but it’s walk along the beach so is actually really nice. The rooms are really clean and fresh. Same with the kitchen. Norlan who helps in the kitchen is super friendly and makes a really good sized breakfast. Also they have a blender which for me I always appreciate. Gianni was really helpful at helping arranging a surf lesson with a local instructor and giving information about the best local spots. He knows many people in the area so can help arrange anything you need. Taxis etc. I had a problem with not having enough cash because I didn’t realise popoyo didn’t have an atm and he lent me some cash to get by until I was sorted. Again I really appreciate this and it added to my stay as everything was no issue. Also popoyo surfing is great, many surfing spots in the area for all surf levels. The vibe in general is really friendly, very chill and has a super market and fruit trucks which come by many times throughout the day. Real paradise away from a city but you have all you need. A few restaurants I didn’t try because the kitchen was perfect and really clean so I just used the one at wild waves. The only issue is there in no ATM in the area so bring more cash than you need!

Gianni is a brilliant host, super friendly with fun chat and very helpful. Norlan the housekeeper is also a lovely guy. The room was comfortable and clean (it was also cleaned a couple times during our stay), the kitchen is really good (fresh coffee every morning!), there are hammocks and tables outside for hanging during the heat of the day. The location is excellent - just off the beach, near the only two shops in Popoyo, next to several restaurants and opposite a board rental place. Easy access to the reef break (about 10-15mins walk), a bit longer to Beginners Bay. Wifi wasn’t great in our room but fine in the communal spaces. Great vibes, wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a wonderful week staying at wild waves in Popoyo. it’s a lovely little place, beautiful little room and a kitchen with all the amenities. We were seconds from the beach, minutes from Popoyo surf break and a 15 minute walk to beginners bay. Giancarlo, his family and staff were all lovely and friendly. He is very knowledgeable about the local area and the surf and he’s always there for any of your needs. we can’t wait to stay again. Thanks Gianny.

This was one of my favorite stays in Nicaragua. The location was so peaceful and quiet for sleeping but there are also several places nearby to grab a drink. The owner Gianny was so so kind and him or his lovely staff/family were there if you needed anything. The kitchen had everything you could need for cooking and was spotlessly clean. I loved that the fruit/veg truck drove by here selling things every other day. I really enjoyed the free coffee every morning and loved the atmosphere of this place, great for solo travelers and meeting other people. Beautiful garden with hammocks and it was right on the beach. Compared to other places in the area with a private room with en-suite this was really the best value for your money

The best place to stay in popoyo/Playa guasecate. The owner and staff where super helpful and accommodating. Giancarlo is very knowledgeable about the surf in the area. Right on the beach, but sand in the room and common area was not an issue compared to other places I have stayed on the beach. The place was always really clean. Free coffee is ready every morning. We will definitely come back to wild waves.

Giancarlos and his lovely family went above and beyond to make our stay very special. The location was absolutely perfect to check the waves as you walk straight onto the beach. The room was spotless and cleaned every day. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. It has definitely been the highlight of our trip so far. Absolutely loved it.

I made a mistake with my booking but it was no problem at all for Giancarlo and we fixed it straight away. The surf house is very clean and located right off the beach and within walking distance to the local restaurants and convenience store. Giancarlo is very knowledgeable with all the local surf spots and can give any advice you need. Our taxi was delayed when we checked out and he went out of his way to drive us to the bus stop. The surf house is an excellent place to stay if you want to be right next to the surf with a well equipped, clean kitchen and friendly staff. The wifi worked perfectly and there are boards to rent across the road with surfing out front on high tide. Magni rock (beginners bay) is about a 25 minute walk across the river at low tide. Would highly recommend 🤙

We really enjoyed our stay and even extended for one more night. The room was clean and spacious. The outdoor area with a couple of hammocks is very comfortable. The Wild Waves Surf-House is located directly at the beach and close to a surfshop which offers surfboard rentals. Gianni, Norlan and the whole family are extremely friendly, uncomplicated and helpful!

Gianni and his family were wonderful hosts. Gianni was constantly and instantly ready to help, answer questions, or just to chat. We ran into some trouble with our surfing class where we felt ripped off and Gianni intervened to help us get some financial restitution, although he really did not have to. The vibes are immaculate, the beach is nice and the room was nice, big and clean. We would definitely recommend anybody to stay in this place if they get the chance.

We had a great time here. Very relaxing! The owner helped us regarding getting to the place which is not the easiest. And Nordal who works there made the stay very comfortable, he enjoyed cooking so we had nice dining time with him. Super equipped kitchen.
