Our bed sheets have been dirty when we arrived.

Beautiful place, very nice owner and staff. I think it was a bit pricey considering all, but it is a great lake and location and the facilities were one of the best in Nica. Would give it a 9 happily but there was the issue of cleanliness.

The host and staff were friendly and very personable. I felt at home. The lodge was relaxing and comfortable. We had been running around San Juan del Sur and Ometepe Island prior to our stay at San Simian Lodge and thought it was the perfect place to relax before heading back home.

Nice little restaurant on site made meals very easy and the staff was excellent. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful place to stay. The owner Daniel was incredibly helpful as well and made sure that we did not want for anything.

In the case you are there for the dry season you may want to book the A/C room. It was 40c (104f) a day and the rooms were quite hot at night as there was no breeze.

Daniel, the owner and Daniel, the bar manager are great at what they do and go out of the way to make your stay great. My girlfriend had a broken foot at the time and they provided us with a cooler of drinks with ice and brought our meals to our place for us. I really liked that they offered free kayaking which I enjoyed. The outdoor shower is a nice touch for the rooms and we had 2 private hammocks and a great view of the lake. We were also traveling with our dog which is always nice to have well received. Note, that they do have a large German Shepard on the property as well!

The room had no a/c, so it was a bit warm during the night time.

Location was a bit far out of the way, but the place itself was great. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the rooms were cozy.

The property is on a slope with the road at the top and paths leading down to the cabins and the lake shore. The paths are cobbled so rolling luggage is inconvenient and may be challenging for those with mobility issues.

Quaint and cozy with a relaxing atmosphere. The landscaping is lush, and with plenty of hammocks, you can enjoy relaxing in the shade. The spacious cabins have comfortable beds, and the open-air shower is a must-try. The free breakfast options are tasty, the coffee is excellent, and with lunch and dinner options you don't have to interrupt your day of relaxation. The bar area is welcoming and there are many drink options to enjoy. Kayaks and snorkel equipment are available to explore the lagoon and a floating platform is not far from the shore. The property is centrally located between Granada and Masaya making it a good HQ for day trips to the surrounding areas. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to San Simian Lodge.

    Nothing. Everything was wonderful.

Absolutely gorgeous setting. Our bungalow was sparkling clean with a comfortable bed and amazing view. We had breakfast (included), lunch, dinner and drinks. The food and service were both fabulous. The prices were an absolute bargain. The owner speaks multiple languages, including English. The Spanish speaking staff was friendly and very patient with our limited language skills. The lodge is right on the lake and provided complimentary kayaks and a swim float that we thoroughly enjoyed. We were only there for one night and already planning a return. 😊

We were a little rushed to get up to the restaurant to order dinner but we understood your staff need to be able to be done for the night and not wait so long.

The outdoor shower was lovely. Staff were nice and worked hard to please us. Food was very good.

Great location in quiet small resort surrounded by jungle. Beautiful crater lake, (a little difficult to get in for swimming because of stony beach). Comfortable loungers and hammocks. Well constructed cabañas with very necessary mosquito nets. We loved the outdoor Bali style showers and having coffee delivered to the room at 7am. Excellent breakfasts and dinners.

We came in the rainy season, the banana-leaved cabanas had a stuffy, moldy smell to them (we stayed in 2 different ones), running the ceiling fans made it worse. You have to be a dog lover, the owner's young German Sheppard is friendly but can get into your face.

Amazing location, beautifully landscaped. The owner is knowledgeable and the staff was very friendly and attentive.
