Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumNo visa payment while they said in the booking and the overpriced dishes. If you price it count the taxes in it. Breakfast was about 20 euros that is huge even in Belgium it cost much lesser and you got more.
The room was very pretty and bright and hygienic. The food was very yummy.

Polandi made the reservation on booking.com and a minute later i received a call from the hotel, saying that there was a wrong rate applied and that the rate is much higher. i did pay the higher rate, because location was suitable for me on that day and simply could not be bothered with looking for any other hotels in the vicinity
Great design of the rooms and the garden. Breakfast was quite good, as well. Serene

United KingdomThe WiFi in room was not very strong and fluctuating from time to time. I needed to bring my laptop to various positions to get good signal.
The staff at Atelier was exceptionally helpful. Everything from my airport shuttle arrangement to room service has been extremely smooth. They have made my business trip in Abuja a true bliss.

GhanaSecurity of my room was problematic. I had a rather nasty experience with a cleaner called Lawrence. Lawrence, a cleaner assigned to my Room 2, had violated my privacy, gone into my wardrobe, pulled out my briefcase that was well stowed away from sight, and opened a secret compartment that I keep my documents and valuables and stole US$300 out of the total of $2,408 I had hidden in my bag. It was done so cleverly by Lawrence thinking that I could only discover the theft after I had checked out but I noticed the intrusion early enough on Thursday, 28 April 2022. I immediately reported the incident to the receptionist and later the manager. I was promised investigations and reports back since Lawrence had gone incommunicado at the time of my leaving the hotel. Further follow-ups of my complaints had yielded much positive responses except with a promise that Lawrence will be suspended for a month for disciplinary action.
The facility is a "home away from home". The very private and relaxing. Their Receptionist I met on arrival, Lovett is an extremely nice staff. Her smiles and courtesy makes you feel like extending your stay.

NigeriaThe room had a slightly weird smell. The building was been painted the week I was there so that may have been why. Otherwise, not much else to complain about. Oh, one more thing - the room rate is charged in dollars and is not paid using the rate Booking.com but uses local market rate instead. This increased the room cost by about 33% which I wasn't expecting. The bed is also on the smaller side - but zero complaints from me there.
It's a massive room with great amenities, fantastic bathroom and is beautifully decorated. The staff were warm and hospitable (Tolu is a champ). I received a welcome fruit bowl and mocktail. The rooms adjoin an art gallery so that was extra points for me because I love art. Atelier also has a great restaurant. So, funny eough instead of going out to meet folks a lot of them preferred to come to me - (1) they had either heard of it and wanted to visit. or (2) had been before and were happy to come again. The bedroom had this great bluetooth alarm clock that you can connect your phone to and play your own music - really helped capture the 'at-home' feeling.

NigeriaMy recent visit was not so great and I was very disappointed from the beginning to the end. The great things about the property above still apply but the customer service was poor. Seems they want to get the business that Booking.com brings without abiding to their rules, discounts etc. They wanted to charge something different and waited for me to be at the location before saying the amount that was confirmed online was a mistake. They knew about this and couldn't even tell people ahead of time so they could decide whether or not to cancel before the day of check-in. Very manipulative in my opinion. Also, they technically did not have my booking and only called me back to say they would find a room for me when I sent a message 2 hours before check in asking if I could check in early. If I had arrived at night without getting in touch earlier then I would have been stranded. To be fair, I may have put them on a pedestal way to high for a Nigerian business to meet (our customer service and ability to make amends for screwing things up is still in very early infancy) and so I still think they are the best option in Abuja and despite my annoyance will probably still recommend because the good still outweighs the bad. Especially if you don't care about your money I guess...
I'm technically rating 2 visits to Atelier. I fell in love with the hotel my first visit, the room was lovely, everything about the the décor was perfect, stunningly beautiful bathroom. The books and turntable are a wonderful addition to the ambience of the place. The gallery upstairs & downstairs, limited number of rooms (4), the meal at the restaurant, the smart TV with streaming options, full DSTV package (Nigerian hotel channels are particularly bad usually), everything was perfect. I couldn't believe I'd never heard of it before. Chioma at the reception was very professional and checking in was great (she was not at the location for my next visit), staff kept coming to the door to bring complimentary drinks, fruit, dessert and the well packaged made in Nigeria snacks in the mini-bar were tasty and great to add to the African vibe.

United KingdomHad to pay significantly more than the price advertised on Booking.com because the conversion rate used by Atelier was significantly higher than the official USD to NGN rate. I travelled with my family, wife and 2 kids, whilst reserving our room, it says breakfast was included. But I had to pay for my kids breakfast because I was told at the hotel breakfast didn’t include them. Which was confusing as it wasn’t stated on Booking.com. No fitness centre/gym at the hotel as advertised on Booking.com.
Beautiful and well decorated hotel, very much like the pictures advertised online. Clean, friendly staff who understand good customer service. Special mention of Tolu and Desmond who were very helpful throughout our stay at Atelier. The food served at the hotel was delicious.

NigeriaWhen I was about to checkout, the housekeeper went to ‘check’ the room, only to come back out and say to me that there’s a small face towel in the bathroom missing. I was so confused. I had to open videos I had recorded when I first checked in to show that this small “face towel” was never in the bathroom. Spending money on a hotel room only to be treated like a common criminal is WILD. I wonder if this type of treatment is reserved for only the Nigerian guests, and if they would treat foreign guests like that. I’m so disappointed and disgusted by the treatment I received. It’s like spending your money to be insulted.
