Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandI wouldn't say the hotel was 5 stars but it was really nice. Only minor issues: We weren't really told how to get tourist information - would have been good if there had been brochures there for tourist attractions. There was a touchscreen at the concierge desk but we weren't alerted to it and the one time we tried to use it, it wasn't working. Food and drink at the resort was dismal and super expensive (we ate at Le Sextant). Also the mixed drinks weren't nice. We didn't eat there after the first night, as there were plenty of restaurants at the beach which, while expensive, were cheaper than the resort and offered much better quality. We brought our own alcohol at the supermarket which was much cheaper. Housekeeping was inconsistent - one day tried to come at 8am when we were still asleep. Some days we got facecloths, others not. Didn't get given any coffee for two days. Fridge didn't keep anything cold. Bed was made euro style with no top sheet, but the duvet was way too hot so I had to sleep under a robe. The room was really nice but the bathroom doors didn't close properly and offered no privacy in terms of noise. Not very romantic ;) Managed to lock ourselves on our balcony on the first night, and reception wouldn't pick up the phone. Had to call out to someone walking by to help us.
The setting was so lovely. We had a garden view room and it had a beautiful outlook with all day sun and a nice outdoor couch to sit on. I wouldn't bother paying extra for an ocean view IMO. The pool was also really nice - chilly, but it is winter after all! While you can't swim at the beach due to shark dangers, there were loungers to enjoy the view there or you could sit at the beachside bar. The resort had a very nice relaxed vibe. It wasn't noisy at all. Our room was really comfortable. Nice Malin + Goetz toiletries provided. They left a little gift for us and a cute flower arrangement as it was our honeymoon, which we appreciated. The location was great, 10 minute walk to restaurants, and a nice walk up the Ouen Toro hill behind. There is a bus stop very nearby which we used to visit Noumea a few times. It is also a doable walk to Lemon Bay and the restaurants there. The reception area was very nice and reception staff always very polite.

New ZealandSome parts of the facilities looks tired and need refurbishment. Some of the staff service could be slow and lack attention. Prices tend to be expensive, but this is typical for Noumea.
Great location, as beach front. Excellent pool area and friendly staff. The majoirty of the staff were very able to speak English.

New ZealandServicing of room was inconsistent, we had a knock on the door before 8 am, the following day we had to ask for our room to be serviced at 4pm. The bed had big dips and hump in the middle. The pool was very cold.
Over all was a reasonable facility, staff were friendly and helpful

New ZealandThe only thing was that the pool was freezing, everyone was complaining about it, we still enjoyed the pool but no where as much as wet would have if it was warmer. because there’s no swimming allowed in the ocean it would make sense to have the pool warmer so everyone can spend more time in the water.
friendly staff and a really nice relaxed environment.

New ZealandFood and beverage Service was exceptionally slow on just about every occasion (except bar by reception). Especially due to the fact that it was rarely busy at any time. I fully appreciate island time, but you'd expect a bit more hussle with resort prices. Can't complain too much though as the sun was always shining!

AustraliaEvening dining options a bit limited but quality of food and service was good. Bed was comfortable but need more bedding options. We were too hot and had to improvise lighter covers as only quite heavy quilts available. No hand sanitiser in lobby area or restaurants. Would also be good to have some bikes available to hire as right near the start of a great bike track.
Great location and wonderful views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Organised a lovely birthday cake for my husband. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Large well equipped gym and really nice pool area and gardens. Lobby, bar, verandah and public areas all lovely. Good buffet breakfast with lots of options.

AustraliaThe main light in the bathroom didn't work. The staff promptly changed the bulb but it still did not work. The fridge in the room did not seem to be on and there was nothing obvious as to how to adjust the temp or even turn it on.
The service was impeccable, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool was wonderful and we were lucky that it was low season as we could easily get a lounge. I wonder if there will be enough room during high season as you can't swim at the beach so the pool will be popular. Our room was amazing! Much larger than I expected and our view was incredible. We loved the restaurant location as there are not many restaurants that are that close to the beach. The food was good but the menu was a bit limited. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. Thank you.

AustraliaService in the bar near the pool and La Faré restaurant was terrible. Waited a really long time for service at the bar, and when we went for dinner at the restaurant we were seated and then not spoken to again! We waited for 40 minutes to be offered some water or have our order taken and ended up giving up and leaving!
Room was clean and bed very comfy, the pool was lovely and the selection at breakfast was good. Walking distance from some restaurants and shops.

AustraliaBoth my wife and I thought that the bed pillows were too soft and didn't give our heads support when sleeping
Having previously stayed at Le Meridien some 8 years ago we had no hesitation in going there again. We were not disappointed, the hotel has maintained its high level of service and facilities.

AustraliaIt would be nice if the dinner menu had more variety and breakfast offered not just a buffet, all the buffet is lovely but if you only want something small it's too expensive. Room cleaning was very good but we had to request it, it didn't just happen sometimes. A few areas could do with more regular cleaning, eg top of bar fridge and dusting down the walls. Some of the bed heads could do with an overhaul, or recovering, a bit tired. Milk not a creamer in the fridge would be good too.
The pool is lovely, food and cocktails were yummy. All very friendly, helpful and polite.

New ZealandThe front desk should provide more information about the city/ transportation and activities etc
Room was great! Good layout and big! The pool is very good too. They have live music but we did not know at all till we went to the bar.The cleaner forgot to refill the tea bags. The kitchen is very big and has microwave and dishwasher and plates etc so we thought we could cook. But when we did a shopping and started cooking we found no cook top and cutting board knife. What a waste!!! No bottle water is supplied.

AustraliaThe food at Le Fare was un-eatable. We ended up there late so we gave it a go, forgot our order, forgot our drinks, the table next to us up and left, we should have but persevered, that was a mistake. Decided it could not be that bad so gave them another shot, and we simply left one plate, it could not be eaten. Fortunately, we could go next door and get great food. 10-15min walk to great breakfast.
The front desk staff, the location, the grounds the pool where all fabulous. Can't fault them, they went above and beyond expectations, All of that was great
