Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only qualm we had which is more of a personal preference, is that the curtains in the room were not black out. As all the mornings were very sunny the curtains let in some light. Would be nice to have the curtain layer as blackout so those who prefer the sunlight could keep the netted layer open then those who prefer darker mornings to shut the black out curtains. But this is all just down to personal preference ☺️
Staff were very attentive and lovely. The rooms and restaurants were very clean! The buffet was really good, many options and variety! Loved how every day had a different type of cuisine daily so we never got tired of the food. Would definitely recommend going atleast going half board if you plan on having dinners at the hotel for the majority of your stay, as you do get value for money this way. The beach and proximity to the beach was amazing! We were surprised that the snorkelling, kayaking and other water activities were actually completely free for those staying at the hotel which was a massive bonus! We thoroughly enjoyed the pedal boat. They have a lot of sports and water aerobics on daily which is also nice. Would definitely recommend this resort and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you so much ☺️

BulgariaThe pools need renovation - there are broken tiles everywhere. Almost every server doesn't speak even basic English (they don't know words such as water, fork, spoon and e.t.)- only French, and this is ridiculous for me when you work in the sphere of Tourism. You have to pay for your drinks even if you pay for HB, even if you are all inclusive.. (for water too if you're HB!!) Nobody informed us when we were there, and it's not mentioned in the booking.com description - absolutely not professional.
The resort is huge and feels very safe. The hotel is pretty and the location is nice. The rooms are super clean, very stylish and the hotel supplies are nice. The food is absolutely delicious - there is live cooking.

South AfricaSadly the staff, particularly in the main restaurant, are not well trained, or in training, and refreshment orders become " hit and miss" as well as just forgotten. This became very frustrating and left a damper on our holiday. Drinks are also exorbitantly expensive.
The Resort is world class, comfortable rooms, spacious beautifully appointed gardens. Swimming pools are outstanding. Buffet meals are varied and plentiful, a fabulous spread.

SlovakiaQuite hot in main dining room even in dinner time. It's a hotel for special occasions due to very high price, but you will feel you are in 5 star luxury resort.
Resort has one of the most beautiful beach in Mauritius. Most of the staff always keep smile and are very polite. Resort itself is covered with palm trees and it looks great. Large and modern rooms with see views. Perfect holiday.

SwitzerlandBeware the unreliable restaurant booking system. On new year’s eve we had a twice confirmed (email & whatsapp) booking at Citronella, only to arrive at a closed restaurant. Ended up at a sad table in the buffet restaurant. And we were not the only ones. Plus cockroaches and ants in the rooms.
Great location, wonderful beach. Generally very friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms with nice sea views.

TurkeyWe stayed half board, breakfast and dinners were delicious and has good amound of variety. But whenever we tried to have lunch on our own they were busy with bufffet lunch there was not enough people around to take orders.
Room was very spacious (2 adults + 2 kids) comfortable and clean. When you walk in reception area the live piano & ambiance makes you feel like you are in heaven. Dinner has good variety and delicious. Common areas were always very neat clean and beautifully designed.

EswatiniThe price of extras and drinks are a deal breaker for me unfortunately We experienced prices in restaurants outside the complex in Fic en Flac which were significantly lower One is expected to pay a slightly higher price in the complex but I'm afraid not to the extent that we experienced. This is not only our opinion
Beach sport facilities are a long way away from the complex Food was excellent Staff were excellent

SwitzerlandThe standard rooms (40 squared meters) were too small since we were traveling with a toddler. The bigger accommodation with separate living room is much larger and much more expensive. It would be great to have a reasonably priced 60-80 square meter option.
The hotel is really nice, it's very big so there's a lot to see and do within the hotel itself. The beach is one of the best I've seen with perfect calm water to swim in. I particularly like that the hotel is situated close to Flic en Flac as I like to take a break from the beach to go out and grab some lunch or do some shopping in the nearby towns. Also if it rains that gives you other things to do than sit in a hotel room.

South AfricaOur room was a little exposed to passing pedestrian traffic, perhaps could have had a bit more privacy but given that we were given a room with a sea-view, we really have nothing to complain about. Our room service tray was only removed quite late, but I am sure that if I had placed a call to guest services, it would have been removed immediately. The service at the beach lounge area at Budda Bar was a bit slow, I would be faster on the drinks :-) The check-out service was slow, but I guess that I should have called ahead and requested copies of the bills prior to arriving at the desk.
Our check-in experience, Wasim was amazing to assist us in rectifying our reservation and exceeding our expectations in that regard. He was really helpful and very accommodating. The staff were wonderful with our children, from helping them at meals to the staff at the kids club. Definitely one of the nicest kids clubs we have had the privilege of making use of. The spa experience was also very good - I hope to experience more of the treatments on our next visit. Special thanks to the lady at the spa who assisted us when our little boy went walkabout as well as to the security and gentleman on duty at the reception on Saturday afternoon.

NetherlandsToo big, and not enough facilities for their size. They share a boathouse with the hotel next door so the snorkling was always fully booked. There was a wedding every day so the Italian restaurant was not available any night we were there. The buffet restaurant was okay, but the Buddha restaurant was very overpriced- you only get 900 R as a budget on HB which merely pays for a starter or some fried rice. We stayed in other places that offered a budget, but that always meant you had enough to choose from a variety of main courses and even a starter or dessert.
Beautiful beach, good gym and friendly staff
