Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceAmenities were lacking. There was an nespresso machine provided but no pods. No kettle, or tea and coffee. Fridge did not work. No ironing facilities or coat hangers. Carpet and floor need a good clean.
Good location in the centre of Tervagh Zeina, and possibly the most secure hotel in Nouakchott (if not all of Mauritania). Friendly staff. Beds are quite comfortable. I heard the rooms are nicer and cleaner in the "new section" - best to ask for a room over there.

United KingdomThe internet was extremely poor. Food not in the catering was of low quality and high price. The swimming pool, although great for other hotels in NKTT was not nice... the emerald green of its water was not nice.... it has no gym and no airport transfer "due to covid".... and finally, there were tons of mosquitoes...
The location is great! It is near the main markets and also good restaurants around. The business center (conference rooms) are also good, and they can host several guests. Moreover, for conferences catering is awesome! Yet expensive.

NigeriaThis hotel is a scandal. My room was absolutely disgusting. It was a disgrace how dirty and outdated it was. I went to the front desk to ask if there were any rooms that had been updated in this century, and when the answer was no, I almost left the property, it was so gross, but it was already late. The floor was filthy, the carpet was worn and frayed. The bathroom was hideous, stained and chipped, ripped cheap shower curtain, the sink would leak all over the broken counter. I know that the use of "4 stars" in this part of the world is pretty loose, but if this place was rated 2-stars it would be generous. I had no towels and the phone didn't work so I went to the front desk. A long time later a housekeeper brought a single, frayed thin old towel. No hand towels, no hair dryer, no coffee maker in the room, no amenities other than a dirty sad pool. That this is the most expensive hotel in Nouakchott is outrageous.
Nothing positive to say about this place. Try to the Hotel Hiba or the Semiramis instead, both nearby, newer and much nice and cheaper than the terrible Monotel.

United StatesLimited toilet paper My room was supposed to be upgraded and I was charged for that, but the room wasn't what my coworkers had. Their rooms were very nice! One of them had to fight for a nicer room. I didn't realize this until I was unpacked, after a few days.
The hotel staff were excellent, food and coffee were good. There was always someone there to serve you...my only problem was the front desk. My room was cleaned every day. Everyone was so accommodating.

BrazilOne of the negative points was the power outlet absence in the living room at the front desk. The staff, however, always kindly provided us with an extension that saved our job.
Breakfast variety is a highlight. The hotel team was always ready to attend the required information. Although I didn´t use the swimpool, the envireonment was great.

ChinaGiven the condition the facilities are in the place is totally overpriced and a ripoff. Instant coffee and hot dishes that are cold. Asking for a pool towel gets you raised eyebrows as an answer, however when you see the chairs you don't want to lie down anymore. It's a run down place.
The location was good. No safety concerns. Room was reasonably clean and quiet.
