To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Hong KongMy partner and I were woken up at 5am by the lack of air con, and couldn't go back to sleep. When we left the hotel room at 8:30am, I called front desk, and left a clear message to have the air con fixed. I returned to the hotel at close to 11pm, and walked into a very warm room, though the thermostat reading was 18.5 degrees C. So I called the hotel front desk manager, who arrived with housekeeping staff, who brought along a handheld thermostat at my request. It showed a room temperature of 26.5 degrees Celsius. The staff ended up having a heated argument with us, claiming that they did what was required. No apologies whatsoever. After 30 minutes, we were offered either an upgrade, or have an engineer over to fix the air con. It was 11:30pm, and we had a long day. We were utterly disappointed with the service, and the defensive attitude of the staff. We were not prepared to pack up and move to another room at close to midnight, when we would be checking out the next morning. In the end, we checked out and left at midnight. The manager unshamefully reminded us that since we booked through Booking.com, there would be no refund. I requested an email as a record of the incident. Until now, we have not heard back at all.

Chinaroom is getting old and not matching premium room pricing. little feeling on premium room service v.s las vegas MGM two bed room staying experience. staffs seemed too relax and no mindset of proactive helping although all seemed polite per standard. overall it seemed the hotel is lacking professional management and no any supervisor to stay on top of the service delivery, in particular for guest who booked premium room.

The staffs in MGM Macau are so nice and professional, from check in to departure, they take care us so much. I didn’t mentioned I was coming with family but they just surprise me to set up those kids amneity in room after return back from dinner. the lion wa so cute and absolutely will come back again & recommend to my friends. The room is big and clean.
