Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FinlandNo air condition in room but used to warmer places. No cupboards to place your bags and clothes.
Very nice and helpful staff. Felt immediately like coming to home. Perfect situation near Latvian and Estonian border near SuperAlko store. Very close walk to Baltic sea with calm place to chill. Ainazi is a very small town, but perfect place to stay one night.

AustraliaNothing!
Easy to find, free parking behind the hotel and it only got better! A wonderful warm welcome by our delightful hostess and her small son. The family live on the premises and help create a delightful atmosphere. The room, and the whole hotel, was well furnished and comfortable but the highlight were the meals. So tasty and fresh and with ample servings. Breakfast was equally as good! This hotel was a highlight of our Baltic travels.

LatviaAmazingly friendly and caring staff/owners, who make you feel like you are visiting friends. Flexible cancellation policy - not that we intended to use it, but we came for the sake of bike ride, so knowing we could cancel up to the very last minute was reassuring in a way. Also the pub of the hotel - very good food and a good selection of wines and cocktails. And the place is very stylish, decorated with beautiful wedding photos of the owners.

LatviaThe room has a smell of cleaning detergents and we had to open all windows to get rid of it.
Very big room, the bathroom has a bath. We had to wake up early to catch the bus, it was perfect location as we could see the bus station from window. The room has newly married mood due to some pictures, though for us it was off topic.

FinlandThey have a restaurant but it is only open till 6 pm so we had to go to Hesburger to get some food after hours of driving. Plavas is there as well, offering great food if you are looking to sit down and have a real dinner. Priedes māja offer breakfast for 9,30 € / person and expected fancy meal with that amount. We got big omelet, pieces of bacon, some salad, cucumbers, sauce (2 plates). And also got hot fresh bread 4 slices for two person with butter but there were no cold cutlets, no cheese and nothing else to drink but one cup of coffee. Even though it was made for us and prepared nicely it is way too pricy.
We have stayed here before, this place used to be hotel Helmi and we are glad there are other options to stay at again. This is a nice place to sleep at. We had standard room for 3 - meaning we had a main room but also small bedroom with single bed which we didnt use. Mainroom was super clean, nice, light and hot but it had a big fan which helped in June. There are big, dark curtains to block the sun. Bed was double bed, enough pillows. Bathroom was nice, clean and well maintained as whole building was. Everything was well kept and clean. Shower was good but little bit small and shampoo/soap stand was in a wrong place and we kept hitting our arms there all the time. They offer free parking behind the building, where is also children playground, tables and chairs to enjoy fresh air etc. On the front they have seats for restaurant guest or you can enjoy your breakfast outside as well which was nice. Although it is close to Via Baltica it is very quiet area. Owner was nice and they make you breakfast (if you book that) in the morning on requested time. There is also a bar/restaurant downstairs but it got closed at 6pm (on weekday). There is small store few steps away to get some snacks, the pier etc. are also few minutes away by car. Nice place to stay and we will go back if staying in Ainazi in future.

FinlandWeirdly, there's music playing outside the place quite early and late. I slept with earplugs so wasn't bothered, but someone might. Boiling water would be nice for stuff from the grocery store, but not necessary.
Easy to reach with a car. There's a really nice beach nearby for the sunset view. The beds were very comfortable. The curtains would dim the sun completely, no need for sleeping masks. The hosts were very nice. There's a grocery store right next to the place.
