Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LithuaniaThe beds were not very comfortable, but I've had worse. The hotel is further away from Jurmala center and nearby restaurants close early. You'll need to drive for a late dinner.
The room was very nice and spacious. Private parking was very convenient and felt safe. Good for irregular hours - the doors and parking gate open with a code. Not a busy neighborhood and there were no problems driving there. They have a cat.

PolandThe bathroom in the room definitely needs renovation. Prices for additional services (laundry, bike rental) definitely exorbitant.
Hotel good for a short stay. They accept dogs (the dog even got bowls). Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast varied (very good coffee, there is always a cake, a salad, milk soup, eggs etc.). 5 minutes walk to the beach. In the corridor a fridge and access to hot and cold drinking water. Lots of guide books in the room. There is an air conditioning. The hotel has a small garden good for children's games. There is a shop and a café in the same building. Secured parking space provided.

We had a great rest and celebrated St. John's Day, which in Latvia is called Ligo, a midsummer fest in another way. Latvians celebrate their national holiday wonderfully.

United States of Americaweather was a little cold and windy at first.. Not hotel's fault!
We returned to Hotel Alba for a third stay, which means we absolutely love the cozy, attractive, very clean and quiet venue. Alba is a family owned small hotel close to the wide beach, four minute walk and a few minutes from public transportation. Best of all is that the family owned operation of the hotel, cute restaurant, bar and small store all located together provided us a week of happiness to visit our relatives in Jurmala. A bonus this time was very special live music to dine by in the restaurant.. we will return to Hotel Alba again on our next visit to Jurmala. Wayne and Lena O.

SwedenIt was very hot in the room during daytime, since it clearly wasn't built for 30 degrees Celsius (which is totally understandable) and also the fact that there was only a ceiling window in the room I stayed in.
Lovely room, comfy beds, included breakfast, friendly staff, kitchen in the room

Latvia- The most annoying thing is that other guests are smoking right on the balconies: in my humble opinion, it should be strictly forbidden - There are no anti-mosquito nets which means you'll have to deal with various flying things including hemipterans - There's also no AC which means that in summer you'll have to open windows, and that means... Right, flying midgets - While the property is pet friendly, the balconies are not really suited for cats or small dogs: there are large holes and your pet might run away. Which basically means we could not open the balcony door during the night. - They use a very strange air freshener with heavy sweet smell which was killing me. You might like it though. - The hotel is located between two pretty busy streets which means it's noisy until late in the evening - All personnel leaves the property at around 20:00. Therefore, if you decide to go out in the evening MAKE SURE YOU REMEMBER THE DOOR CODE and take your key card. Otherwise you may end up chilling out in the street for the rest of the night. By the way, I doubt they hardly ever change the entrance door code which is not very safe tbh
- Location. There are two railway stations nearby, the sea is just 2-3 mins walk by foot, there is also a shop and a cafe (note however that the cafe closes at 18:00). Please note however that this is basically a countryside so there are no bars/cinemas/nightlife - It's very clean - Pet friendly - There's a small private area for guests: you can relax on the terrace or play ping-pong (for free) - The breakfast is nice - Beds are comfortable - Rooms have small balconies - WiFi connection is fast and reliable - Free tea and hot water (only on the 2nd floor) - There's an onsite parking
