Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LatviaThe room could be more "ancient style" to honor the building and history. A red bed cover was too much for me. I would choose a bit softer colors. The room walls have poor sound isolation. Someone talked in the room nearby and I could follow the talk.
Well, living in an old manor is special because you can have a walk around the property in the early morning, and late evening enjoying the architecture and atmosphere. Fantastic evening and morning walks if you travel with your dog as I did (a dog stays for free). The room is simple but there is everything you might need. Clean. I could even borrow an electric kettle to make my breakfast coffee.

LatviaIt was hot in the room. I guess it is better than if it would be cold. Probably because the heating was very good but the room was too small for 3 people and a dog (although it was 4 person's room ). And there was an electric kettle but no cups
Very nice place to stay with family and dog.

Wow, it's a special place to sleep in this palace! I liked the communication before my stay. And the place is so calm, I've been the only guest that day and I've seen a beautiful cat – the real owner of this house :)

It’s really a hidden gem, a historic manor with a lovely yard. Very beautiful, quiet and peaceful. it has a restaurant in the corner of the yard. the food is delicious and good price. The manor is in small village, but there is a supermarket nearby. It is about 8 min to the railway station, easy to access from Riga. I enjoyed my stay very much.

LatviaWell, would be nice to have an electric kettle in the room.
It was better than expected. Good value for the price. Dog friendly hotel - no charge for that. 🔆 My dog loved running around the big courtyard. Seems they have many different concerts & other events there as well.

LithuaniaRooms are a bit like old style. some rooms are with joined bathroom, so please be aware. In the same time were staying some young people, maybe team of some sports, so they were making noise till 1am and no one from hotel staff was caring about that...
Location was very historic and very nice. It is an old mansion transformed into museum and part of that is hotel, restaurant etc. It was very cheap comparable. Breakfast was very cheap. Staff has very helpfull.

There was no wall in the shower. When taking a shower, water was all over the bathroom, and there was nothing to wipe it with. Therefore, the bathroom was all wet, and it was uncomfortable to use afterwards.
The room was clean and bright.

LatviaMost of the original interiors of the buildings are lost. There are lots of Soviet time changes, additions and repurposing. Nothing inside the hotel building remains from its historical origins. If anything, the experience is closer to Soviet era (cemented staircase, fireplace decor etc.) and some 90's interior elements in the hotel room. The room was clean with a brand new bathroom all in red tiles; somewhat comfortable and with all the basics of a decent hotel. Just a few minor shortcomings like a reallly hard mattress, non working light bulb above the bathroom mirror and no hairdryer. The TV is tiny and with nothing on. Tap water tastes really bad, but there were 2 small bottles of mineral water in the room. There is no live receptionist, room keys are available from a safety box outside the hotel building and the access code was sent by email. Payment options are either Booking.com or by card/cash in the cafeteria . Breakfast has to be requested in advance, and is available starting from 10 AM. It was decent, but not really worth 10 euros per person. Coffee was bad. Unfortunately we missed the guided tour, which would have cost 5 euros per person. The guide did not showed up for work that day. Without a guide there is very little information available about the history of the manor. The price/perfomance of the hotel is adequate, but do not expect the historical charm like in most other manor hotels in Latvia. The outside is nicer than the inside.
The estate and its immediate surroundings is an authentic fortified medieval manor built in the 15th century, with additions and modifications from 16th and 17th century. The main house, built in the 19th century, contains the "Roads Museum", which is very interesting by itself. Unfortunately the main house of the manor is authentic only from the ouside, nothing of the original interior is left.

United States of AmericaRoom keys were hard to obtain and the manager was not easy to reach; prepare to deal with lockboxes and instructions in Latvian only. There's no one on the premises at night. Loud music in the restaurant starting early in the morning is very annoying. The bathrooms are basic and tight. Initially our beds were slightly damp so we had to borrow a space heater from the common area.
The setting is gorgeous and downright romantic despite the Soviet road-building machinery spilling out of the museum. Breakfast (not included) is wonderful and plentiful, rooms are smallish but clean and reasonably comfortable. Beds are very good but may be too hard for some people. The common area is large and has a communal fridge. The rates are hard to beat.
