How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The night staff. I tried to buy a coke but they were rude. Didnt even try to help me.

There is no sink in the toilet to wash hands. Also if you could provide handwash soap at least, that will be great.
Very nice hostel. Large rooms. Very clean. Very spacious. Location is perfect. Next to the train station. Also in middle of market.

I think everything was very nice. I do not have anything I did not like.
The Hostel is quite new, very clean and comfortable. I was very surprised about it - nice feeling to stay there. Also the breakfast, however small choice - it was very delicious.

A person, definitely not a tourist, with terrible smell and no luggage in my room. As I stayed only for 2 nights, I didn’t request to change the room.
Quiet room. The staff are nice and very helpful. Breakfast is good. Recommended hot chocolate and juice.

Water was a bit cold but no option to control the warmth. Room doors need a bit sound proof. When people shouting in the corridor it can be heard at late night

The only thing I can think of is that it would have been nice to have some soap in the room, because this is something you do not think of bringing.
I booked an individual room, and it was super quiet all night. It was clean as well. Moreover, the youth hostel is very well located,.just a few steps away from Each-sur-Alzette train station.

All is good
Staff is very nice and helpful. Good location and very convenient reach even though it doesn’t really locate in Luxembourg but take the train around 30 mins is perfect and worth for the price

I had a private room with its own bathroom so maybe could have provided towels and a bathroom mat maybe some soap/shampoo - I was able to borrow some but it would be useful

Luxembourg is a beautiful country specially for those who are nature loving and greenery.
Excellent location and staff is good. Breakfast is also good. It is very economical but it takes more than 30 minutes to reach Luxembourg city centre and some other tourist places near by city centre.

The hostel would be outstanding apart from the noise management. Even though there are sound proof doors on each floor, having a loud karaoke or thumping music until late at night is going to disturb guests. I don’t mind some music, but the volume at which it was played was unacceptable. The receptionist had to take a phone call and couldn’t hear a thing. Most people are using the hostel as a place to sleep, not for entertainment, and if they can’t sleep because of the noise, they will be unhappy.
Excellent location. Exceptionally polite & friendly staff. Spacious individual rooms with good bathrooms that were spotless. Very good, healthy breakfast buffet and great value evening set menu with freshly cooked food, not heated up processed food).

I know it is odd, but the toilet coulf have a Tap water facility, since Luxembourg is an international place having visitors from outside EU too. My room locker was not able to accomodate my 75cm international standard luggage

Was enormous warm day, we kept window in the room open, and the train bothered our sleep

It was a really good place to stay. At the center of the city, close to everything like shops, restaurants and stations. Great location, great staff, clean and organized! Love to do it again!

- I never got that "Hostel feeling", but honestly Esche is not really a nice City. It's not worth to visit it. So, I don't blame the Hostel for that.
