Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I didn't buy breakfast because I only have coffee in the morning and that cost of the breakfast was very expensive. I liked the vibe of the decor and all, the bed was comfortable and I had a good night sleep.

The staff were incredible and the location, although just outside of what would be the ‘city center’, the location was great; lovely and quiet. The room was really comfortable, the shower was great quality and very strong. Breakfast was a massive selection, lots of vegetarian choices and the fresh barista coffees were really nice to have. The ceiling in the lobby and restaurant is so beautiful; I loved staring at it whenever we were in the reception, no clue who the artist is but would have loved to get a print

EstoniaWe stayed on the 5th floor and heard the elevator and upstairs neighbours during the night. It didn't stop us from sleeping, but we didn't expect it and it was annoying.
The place has good value for money, the location is perfect and it has a good connection with the city centre. The rooms are comfortable and clean. In general, it is a good place to stay in Luxembourg.

Location was great, although outside of the old part of the city it was super close to the tram stop and took only 20 mins to get to the city centre, and also 20 mins to the airport. The hotel was great, super clean and quiet, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. It's also located close to some great restaurants if you don't fancy heading in to the city

GermanyNo direct dislike, just a comment. The check-in took too long, up to 10min. While other hotels favor self-check-in without any worries, it took too long at Mama Shelter. Plus, they charge a 50EUR fee for just-in-case - a bit unusual nowadays. Also, the staff at the restaurant seems to be a bit annoyed when you come and ask for a seat. It shouldn't be that way.
The location is perfect for a weekend visit to the city. The tram line that connects the train station, city center and the hotel stops in front of the hotel. The room is comfortable and clean.
