Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyOur room was having windows facing the internal atrium, right above the reception, so quite noisy. Room was also quite warm and we had to ask for air conditioning in April...
Moved to Narutis. Very good position, nice classic hotel overall.

Lithuania-
My reservation was changed and I could stay in Narutis hotel. I've got nice attic room with a tasteful wall and ceiling decor. I also liked the quality of hair care products in the bathroom. The hotel is located in the Old Town and looks old and chic with some little cozy corners to sit. Breakfast was very tasteful. Staff was very polite and helpful.

New ZealandNothing I didn't like.
We were upgraded to their sister hotel, Heritage hote. It was an exceptional stay with them. The breakfast (which was included and very important to me) was wonderful. Fresh with many varieties to choose from. The location was perfect. Right in the middle of the old town. We arrived in the middle of the night and the receptionist was waiting for us. The staff went out of their way for any request. 100% recommend staying with this group.

FinlandI would not take breakfast in Narutis. It was not too good, it was not explained what exactly was served, and the service was questionable. The breakfast took place in a few smallish rooms in the basement, thus the buffet was crowded and the tables were too close to each other.
Booking.com asked me to rate and to write a review about Hotel Apia, but I was transferred to the Hotel Narutis in Pilies street. Thus, these ratings are NOT about Apia. I checked previous guests' feedback and it seems that this was the case with many previous guests. Not sure what good ratings of Apia represent then?

AustraliaDid not get a message to say our hotel had changed so was a bit confusing at the time.
We were also moved to the Narutis hotel which was unexpected but a pleasant surprise. (Apparently we just missed Zelensky who also stayed at the hotel during the Nato summit meeting!) Room was fantastic and staff were exceptional. Parking was a great bonus. Breakfast was also outstanding.

LithuaniaNothing really.
We enjoyed our stay in Apia Hotel. Very good location and ability to part the car for free was the reason to choose. It was interesting experience to get in to self serviced hotel, which went quite well. Therefore please read instructions from the hotel before you arrive.

LatviaThere is an elevator, but unless you are on that side of the hotel it essentially useless. We had our 3 year old with us, so going up 5 flights of stairs was a bit of doing. That being said the room and location were worth the effort!
We were also swtiched to the Narutis Hotel last minute, and that is a great hotel!

EstoniaThis is silly, but maybe the soap could be placed in a refillable dispenser. The soap bar kept slipping off the sink. Just a suggestion but everything else was exceptional!
Few days before the trip we were told that we were moved to a different hotel. The Narutis hotel. The hotel was really good. The staff was amazing, the breakfast was delicious and the room was really nice. We arrived really early in the morning with the Lux Express bus and luckily were able to get an early check-in. The location of the hotel was amazing, everything was really close walk away.

DenmarkA few rooms (ours) only has windows to an interior and covered “courtyard” where the reception is placed. A lot has been done to compensate (AC and soundproof windows) but it is still not optimal. Location, staff, interior decor and value for money makes up for this).

We were changed to Narutis hotel, very comfortable and cozy 5* hotel in Old Town. We've got a spacious, quite room with a big bathroom. Tasty breakfast and a good coffee in the morning. We stayed during the Night of Culture, with a plenty of musical and other free events in the city and close to Old Town so we could go on foot and enjoy nightlife.
