Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBreakfast, only one coffee / hot water machine, which was ok on the days as there were only another couple of people at the time, but could have been a problem with a few more guests.
Check in was OK. I cancelled by mistake half way through, after giving my card detail. Had to input again, but found that the first debit was immediately returned to me.

United StatesBreakfast was pitiful (just cold cuts, bread, cheese and yogurt). Room should have had a microwave and refrigerator for the price I paid. Room had a crazy wall socket I have never seen anywhere else so I couldn't recharge my phone.
The room had a balcony with a great view. Everything seemed recently renovated. Plus no nasty hotel carpet so that was really nice.

United KingdomWhile most countries close most businesses for public holidays - we did not expect literally everywhere to be shut for the weekend. I feel this could be communicated better, and maybe for those few days a member of staff be available at the bar (as no local bars are open). Get a McDonald's for food, then head straight to the Honesty Bar. The "self service" aspect, while we got used to it within a day, was a bit too much to begin with - could have done with at least 1 person there to help. I personally prefer an internal lock on the door to make sure the room is locked. Breakfast had limited options, and could do with a bit more variety.
Clean. Views from the balcony were incredible! The honesty bar was really helpful!

LatviaThe breakfast was carb and lactose based. Bottled O.J. was the only thing that came close to fruit or vegetables. No warm food. Difficulty with room key, but staff on the phone helped work that out.
Good location and if the lack of visible staff kept the cost down, then I'm all for it. Location was good for me. Good parking but also few guests. I will book here again if in the area.

AustraliaActually nothing with respect to comparative value and comfort.
Vaduz is not cheap, but this place is right on Vaduz door step - 2km walk or short bus ride, and and offers a lot better value than anything closer. the view, especially from Haus C is exceptional, the self serve breakfast easy and overall I’d definitely stay again.

United StatesSelf check in is great in theory, but when there's an issue.... Our reservation wasn't in their system and had no way to call them as my phone didn't work in Lichtenstein. There was no one we could speak with, since we couldn't call their assistance number. It was freezing outside, and eventually we found someone with a phone we could use.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Location was great, 30 minute walk into Vaduz or a quick bus ride (bus stop is right outside the hotel), breakfast was ok.

ItalyTh e experience in the hotel was completely depersonalizing. Except for the self check-in which I knew in advance I supposed that at least there was somebody in the hotel but it was completely empty, no human contact, no one in the reception or in the breakfast area. Actually I guess that in a Hotel the human contact is necessary and cannot be everything automated, like is in this hotel.
The Hotel is clean, nice and in a very beautiful position with the view of the Rheintal. The Breakfast is absolutely great and the room was really spacious and comfortable.

BelgiumBreakfast is a bit poor, I was missing (or didn't see) water. The room is rather small, but all is there.
Easy check in. Although I didn't meet any staff in person, the communication via email went smoothly. Good WiFi. One of the cheaper options I could find in the area.

United StatesThe check-out process was completely unclear. Thankfully the second person I asked spoke enough English and was able to tell me where to leave my key. (Open the door next to the check in and there's a box to drop the key into). Not sure why that wasn't communicated more clearly. Also, despite signs saying there was no smoking, the person in the room next to me definitely smoked on their balcony (perhaps the ashtray told them it was ok) and that was disappointing.
The view was AMAZING! Totally worth the extra $10 a night. Check-in was easy. Room was clean. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was decent. I really appreciated the quiet.
