Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe only minor annoyance is the proximity to the highway - so there is noticeable traffic noise at times (but the tradeoff of being in that exact spot on the beach far outweighs that concern!). The on-site restaurant is tiny and limited (e.g. we had to walk to the "mini mart" to purchase a bottle of wine to go with our dinner) - however we selected this spot because of the full kitchen and proximity to grocery shopping and didn't expect an on-site restaurant so it was a nice treat.
Loved the incredible closeness to the beach and sea, as well as the pool. Absolutely gorgeous view from the room. The beach and water were pristinely clean and clear and the shallow water was calm and lovely to walk, float, swim and snorkel in for hours. Our room had a beautiful white vaulted ceiling over the huge (and very comfortable) bed. Everything was well maintained and extremely clean. The kitchen had everything we could need to prepare our own meals. The large balcony was lovely for eating meals or lounging with the stunning view. The free loan of snorkeling and kayaking equipment was much enjoyed. Being able to kayak around the bay and around Rat Island was great. The location was very convenient for accessing grocery shopping and sightseeing spots. The staff were outstanding - extremely friendly, helpful and responsive. The ambience of the property was upscale yet cozy and truly felt like a family business welcoming guests to their home. It was fun to chat with the other guests over our stay as we all enjoyed this beautiful place.

United KingdomVilla Beach Cottages is a fantastic place to stay. It has the facilities of a hotel and self catered apartments all in one, so you have the flexibility to decide what sort of holiday you want. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The hotel also has some great drivers they work with who you can book for tours or to go to local restaurants (I recommend the Pink Plantation for lunch). The hotel is right on the beach and it is a beautiful sandy beach with great views of the sunset, there is also a pool and jacuzzi. There is not much around the hotel in walking distance so a car or taxis are needed for most things.

United KingdomI would have really loved a bar that provided snacks/ drinks throughout the day rather than the bottles from the mini shop. You definitely need a car if you stay here although they will book you taxis.
A beautiful start to our honeymoon, the staff are all so friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Collin. Austin who we hired the car from is also a superstar and the price was super competitive compared to others on the island. It was a fantastic stay, the rooms are huge and well equipped and the view is gorgeous, we even got to use the kayak to the small island we could see on our balcony. The cooks are amazing and so talented best curry I had was from here and the bakes, salt fish and banana bread for breakfast was beautiful. Thanks for a wonderful stay

Loved this place! Right on the water. Fantastic staff. Wonderful room with kitchen, balcony, air conditioning. It’s a drive (~an hour) to/from airport.

United KingdomNot being able to walk to shops & restaurants and having to use taxis... we were aware of this prior to booking, but felt the positive aspects outweighed this inconvenience.
All the staff & Taxi drivers were professional, helpful and friendly. We particularly enjoyed talking to Colin, the owner. All of his suggestions for places to visit and eat out were spot on. Would highly recommend a visit to Pigeon Island and eat out at The Coal Pot, Pink Plantation House, The Naked Fisherman & Spinnakers. The apartment was very nicely decorated, comfortable, spacious & well equipped. Located directly on the beach... What a wonderful view!

United KingdomTo book dinner at the restaurant on site, you need to give 24 hours notice so a bit of planning is needed. I tried to request something (anything) as I hadn't eaten that day, but unfortunately the cook had gone home so the food situation can be a bit restrictive in that way as only other options are to get a cab somewhere.
The location in terms of beach/sea is fantastic, you are on the beachfront and it's like paradise. The location in terms of food outlets is a bit tricky as the only place within walking distance is a cafe so best to either have a car of if you prefer self catering do a big food shop as the kitchen is fully functional with everything you need.

CanadaThey could have given us two weeks for the price of one so we could have stayed longer! All joking aside, we were very pleased with Villa Beach Cottages.
For those not wanting to be at an all-inclusive resort, this is a perfect choice. The property is beside a Sandals on a beautiful beach. This family-owned property is staffed with a team of employees who are warm, friendly and helpful. The personalized service we received for planning our excursions and getting taxis to go for dinner in nearby locations was amazing. The owner meets with all new guests for a sit-down discussion about your plans for seeing Saint Lucia in order to provide advice, insights and suggestions to make your time on the island even more memorable. The chef of the small restaurant on site serves some authentic Saint Lucia dishes that are very good; as she sings while cooking, you feel like you are in her kitchen at her home. The property also has several taxi drivers (that they’ve vetted) and who are wonderful. We essentially had the same driver touring us around the island the whole time we were there. The taxis can be charged to your room so you don’t have to worry about cash - aside from a tip if you want to give one. I would not hesitate to recommend Villa Beach Cottages; it’s a place that provides a memorable experience of visiting the island.

United KingdomIt’s next to a very busy road, so you need a car to get anywhere (this wasn’t a problem as we had one).
Very well equipped little resort with its own beachfront. It has a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (dinner only when pre-booked). The food is great for breakfast, but they recommended better restaurants for lunch and dinner. Which takes me to the orientation by the owner - this was incredibly useful and added a personal touch. We got maps and full details about what to visit and where to eat. Our favourites were Pigeon Island (snorkelling and roti for lunch at Jambe de bois), Smuggler’s Cove (very secluded beach good for snorkelling and lunch at Naked Fisherman), Cas en bas beach (wave watching), The Pink Plantation (amazing fusion kitchen), and of course enjoying the view from the balcony and swimming in front of the hotel. There’s also parking, a local mini mart (although you’re better off going to Massy that’s 5 mins by car), and they can organise trips if you don’t have a rental car.
