How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

If I have to say one thing to improve, I would add some lighting over the bathroom mirror so women have more light to do their makeup.
I loved the decor of the property. It’s very much like a traditional house with beautiful colors and decoration. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the location was amazing!

This property is in the perfect location. Situated along the busiest street with all the best restaurants, there is even parking right down the block. Rooms were spacious with high ceilings and the balcony was the perfect place to have your (free) breakfast. The owner/manager, Roy, was so welcoming as well as the rest of the staff.

Roy Roy Roy….the manager of the e place made the whole experience, just stay there to experience a one of kind hotel manager - next level - from the moment you book and until you leave…he literally moves mountains and makes everything happen! I was so impressed and taken by his level of hospitality…the hotel itself is very cozy and lively and genuine but it would not have counted if it wasn’t for Roy.

The rooms need some more amenities
Roy Roy Roy…the manager of the place made the whole experience, just stay there to experience one of a kind hotel manager - next level - from the moment you book and until you leave…he literally moves mountains and makes everything happen! Was so impressed and taken by his hospitality…the hotel is very nice and cosy and lively but it would not have counted if it wasn’t for Roy

The location is amazing: Right in the center of the stunning Gemmayze neighbourhood we were lucky to find this peaceful oasis. Spacious rooms and friendly staff made our stay unforgettable. Breakfast was great and you can start your day with hanging out in the Lost Bar watching the busy streetlife. Parking is available on a nearby parkinglot (paid seperately). Like all the buildings in this neighbourhood the Lost Hotel has no lift but the staff is happy to help you with your luggage. This is an authentic experience in Beirut and we will certainly put this on the top of our list when we return to this amazing, beautiful city.

Closet in the room… but hey it’s just details
Loved it!! Epic place in a ergert position yo explore Beirut. Staff was amazing…. Very helpful, always smiling and just a bunch of really nice people!!!!!

The area is a bit noisy until midnight
Everything was excellent: the location, the room (cleaness, design), the staff was very helpful and took a good care of us. The breakfast was delicious and variable. I highly recommend this hotel to stay in Beirut.

Being in the heart of Gimmayza means you have to plan with very loud noises until early morning hours, and through the day. The staff at the reception was very transactional and short tempered. They did their job but were not cordial at all, except of the cleaning staff who were very pleasant. A bit expensive IMO.
The Lost is an old building with typical lebanease architecture that was renovated to host visitors looking forward to be in the heart of the cool, youthful going out spot of Beirut, Gimmayzah. The rooms are decorated with with a modern vibe, and you are a walking distance from a nice plathora of bars and restaurants. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable.

Our room was on the street side, so quite noisy, not a problem for us, but if you like peace or have children, better to ask for a room facing the back.
The design of the rooms is super nice, authentic. The staff is friendly and the hotel is super clean. Nice central location. Good breakfast.

Location: best in the city, very safe and lots of nice bars and restaurant around Breakfast: good, you can choose from a menu with 8 options of sweet, savory, eggs Staff: everyone was incredibly kind and helpful, they went out of their way to help me get a medicine I needed and got it delivered to the Hotel; they let us check-in early and check-out late with no charges Room: we asked for a room in the back which, even though might have been smaller than others and no "view", it was exactly what we wanted as it was quiet and we could sleep super well
