Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe beach is lovely and remote, it would be beneficial to clear up some of the shrubs at the beach - although I did not consider the beach to be dirty. Stacey (I believe) at reception I found to be rude and less than helpful. Upon arrival (11/04/24) I queried where reception was to check-in as she was standing outside when we had arrived, it was dark (after 8pm) and all the buildings look similar - I found her tone very inappropriate, and not very welcoming upon check-in. The following morning, I visited the reception again at 7.30 am (she was still on shift) to find out about the water taxi and again her tone and approach was not helpful and condescending. Unfortunately, I witnessed her have a very different approach to guests that I'm assuming she thought would be more lucrative and of a different skin colour. She also felt the need at every point that I was in earshot to highlight she was part of the 'management' team not a standard employee, and for example, stated that she was above getting the 'employee of the month' as she is a 'manager'. This was comical to me, as I actually thought she would benefit from some training from those same employees that she was so keen to promote this hierarchical position and divide. My friend also reached out to her at breakfast to say 'good morning' as she walked past us at breakfast, and she just about got an acknowledgement. Please be advised, this was the only member of staff that there was an issue with, all other staff were friendly and helpful and not overbearing. The other manager (short hair) who I believe was more senior was pleasant and helpful.
The location is remote, with a beautiful view of the beach from our room. The room exceeded expectations, as it was spacious, clean and although not modern it had a nice feel. Michelle at the restaurant was pleasant and the afternoon restaurant staff were also very communicative and helpful. We had breakfast and lunch and some cocktails during our 1 night stay, which was nice. The rum punch was authentic and strong (lol) and the prawns at lunch were fresh and delicious - all reasonably priced. The water taxi was in very close proximity to the hotel, costing $15 per adult and $7 per child to get back to St Kitts in 7 mins (although a bumpy ride). The location suited our needs - although I couldn't imagine staying here for longer than a few days as there's not much else close by.

JerseyThere are no other bars or restaurants within walking distance. But it is on a great bus route, there are ample taxis or you could hire a car, driving round the island is easy. The property could do with some TLC in parts, however the management are making efforts to address this.
The beach location is perfect, a pretty sheltered bay, safe for swimming, with ample shade and sun beds. A peaceful, very small resort with a variety of room types to suit your needs, all close to the waters edge. The live music sessions are great entertainment and a way to meet like minded people.

United StatesWe had an issue with getting hot water, but our stay was short and it may have been able to be fixed if staying longer.
It is located on a moderately sized sandy beach with a restaurant that serves very good food at very reasonable prices. The staff was welcoming and helpful in procuring tours. It is adjacent to water taxi which is convenient.

United KingdomThere were bicycles advertised as available but, it turned out the activities guy had gone on holiday. It's a small island so I guess he had no-one who could cover for him. So we hired a car instead. A few small aspects of the room could do with repair - e.g had to wedge bathroom window open with a stick as the mechanism had parted company with the wall long before we were there. But let's not forget this is not billing itself as the Marriott or something- it's a mid-class hotel which happens to be in a stunning iconic location. There is a fridge in the room but if you want anything to put in it, e.g. milk, buy it before you get there.
Beautiful location. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds - although they are quite high- if small you may need a step. Mosquito net supplied is good and effective and, the netting round the balcony helps keep them out too. The food is cooked to order and good quality. Try the traditional Kittitian breakfast or the Calypso omelette, very good. There are musicians in the restaurant in the early evenings which is nice. Coffee machine and quality coffee bags in the room is a nice touch.

lovely location. Lovely staff. Really enjoyed a peaceful stay on a stunning beach. We had a lovely room with a view across the beach and it was lovely sitting there in the evening with a drink. The resort needs a bit of investment though. The bathroom could do with upgrading. With a bit of money spent on it it would be superb.
