Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaThere is no AC and bungalows are made only with natural materials so of course it was very hot inside despite of the ceiling fan. That makes the accommodation a bit expensive considering the level of comfort but the environment is quite unique. Other than that, everything good!
The bed is literally 20m away from the sea, it’s just perfect to wake up and go for a swim. The bungalows are very cute and pretty. The breakfast and food overall was delicious with lots of vegeterian (but yummy!) options. Prices also super reasonable with nice atmosphere at night with the torchs and chill music. We barely ate in other places and I can tell it’s really the best place to stay in Saracen bay if you want an authentic experience full of charm.

GermanyThe place is really nice but just a little overpriced. You find spots like this for a lot less than $50-60 for example in Thailand. Food is generally expensive on the island, since there is no vilage or so (well, not in the vicinity), so you are dependent on turist places. But hey, people, $7 for a fried rice? Seriously? In contrast, the fresh fish BBQs are great value for money. The beach itsself is nice and quiet during most of the time, exept between 8-10 o'clock, when the beach is in rush hour with motorized vehicles of all kind carryin the new arrivals and goods. At night, there mayx be some partying in other places. We were there end of season, so we can't really tell. This being said, we decided to go there, extended our stay and had a wonderful time!
If you go to Saracen-Beach and want that hut-on-the-beach thing you may know from Thailand or other countries, Bamboo Jam is the place to go! The bungalows are made up real tastefully (althoug the bathrooms would benefit from a little bit of refurbishing). They are located right at the beach between trees. Really beautiful. The staff is mixed foreigners and locals an really nice and helpful. The restaurant is equipped with vintage furniture from Japan and differs nicely from the neighbouring , more sterile places.

United StatesUncomfortable mattress. No AC, thin towels. Overall don’t expect American hotel standards, it’s more like glamping. If you’re looking for a secure quiet place to retire and escape the heat during the hot day, this is not it. But it’s fine to pass out at night.
Really cool vibe. The food and atmosphere is a much needed alternative to the other establishments on the beach (classic resorts and hostels) with healthy options and a generally chill hippie mood. The beachfront area in front of the bungalows is just a wonderful place to spend time sitting, reading, drinking or whatever. Perfect place if you’re looking for a rustic, camping like feeling on a wonderful beach.

IrelandLooks as if they’ve lost interest in the place, quite run down. No atmosphere at all compared to other places. The main door doesn’t close, so if one person wants to stay in the bungalow and one wants to leave, either you must padlock the person inside, or dead lock the other out. Bit of a safety issue. Check in was a bad experience, staff member had no interest whatsoever & give no information (breakfast, wifi, etc).

United KingdomThe huts appeared a little tired, inside. The bathrooms floor by the shower I felt could do with an uplift, but don't let that put you off, all in all it was a pleasant stay.
Beachfront... A short distance walk from the pier, with beautiful view from huts. Staff are so friendly and food was lovely. It's a peacefull area, and you can hire paddleboards if you want to burn some energy. We walked to cozy beach and sunset beach (sunset beach is a bit of a trek) but well worth doing, there's also a small waterfall to walk to. There is not really much else to do on this island but relax. And take in the tranquil sounds of the jungle or walk. The sea is like a green colour, didn't manage to see much when snorkeling but saw lots more fish when over at lazy beach. This was a lot less chilled and cleaner that koh rong.

ChinaNo one came to help us with our bags at the boat pier as it was agreed before arrival which a bit of a hustle considering i was traveling with my family, even though the hotel is located at a few hundred meters only from the pier, it was a bit of a struggle.
Small cosy and colourful bungalow on a beautiful beach. Very good restaurant with very reasonable prices and a choice of healthy meals. The hotel staff is very nice and welcoming. I highly recommend this beach bungalow with an amazing value for money. Everything's easy and relax !

United KingdomObviously you’re on a beach so the bed does get sandy- our only big issues we’re that we were woken at 6am by construction noise and there was load music from the big easy next door quite late - also the menus options were very limited and pretty expensive and the restaurant wasn’t open very often
The location was perfect

FranceThe pond behind the resort, mosquito reserve ! The hang over of the terrace too small. When it rains , you can't use the terrace, everything is socked The path outside too narrow to access the bathroom/toilet, right under the pouring water from the roof when it rains ! Be aware : - it's a hut, more than a bungalow - beach pretty dirty, many platic bags and bottles laying on it. Strangely, they remove dead leaves, branches debris, but not the plastic items, and this is true for nearly all the resorts of the beach Abandoned or half destroyed resorts do not help to give you a great feeling of the place. It's a pity, it certainly used to be a paradise 😕

United KingdomThe bungalows were a bit more rustic than I was expecting (eg no hot water, paper thin walls, ants/geckos inside) but still comfortable and relaxing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was really tasty and I loved that breakfast was included. The bungalows are right on the beach and have relaxing hammocks and chairs to chill in.

United KingdomThe pictures of the bungalows on booking.com are a bit misleading and they were not as big or luxurious as I was expecting, but they were comfortable and what you would expect from a beach bungalow in SE Asia. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the resort had a nice chilled vibe. The food was good with lots of vegan and veggie options. Not a lot to do on the island, but the beach is beautiful and there are plenty of resorts giving choice of where to eat and drink. I very relaxing place to stay.

AustriaThe Moskitos and sandflys at night, but that not the fault from Bamboo Jam
Super nice and cute bungalows, with your private beach, hammock and table in the sand, just 5 steps away. All the staff welcomed me with a smile. And I enjoyed it to talk to them during my (Single-)Lunch, bruch whatever!!! The Rooms get cleaned every day, and they do it great. Ema, the owner, is very considered to keep everything clean, especially food, water and ice. So at their restaurant you can be sure that you only will get good stuff. (You can't say that from the other restaurants at the beach, some of them are very dirty and the ice for the drinks, I think, is normally for the refrigerator, but not for drinking) So, all in all it was the perfect choice(not only because 3 min walk away from piere) I would sure come back to this place and Ema. I think 4 Stars is the best rating I can give to the bungalows (service 5, and location 5,) Because I want to keep star Nr. 5 for the 4+5 star hotels to be fair! You will not disappointed to visit Bamboo Jam, that's for sure Greeting Tom

United KingdomIt is mentioned in the booking and the reviews but I wasn't really prepared for how hot it would be! So just want to highlight that as the bungalows don't have aircon, they are really hot. You have a fan and I adapted after a couple of days but the first two nights I found it very hard to sleep as it was so hot and the fan + the club music from a nearby bar were so loud. If you are a good sleeper this won't be a problem, my husband slept fine, but worth being prepared for. Bamboo Jam itself is quiet and has great music in the bar, but there is a clubby bar nearby that plays mr brightside etc and it imposes a bit on your island idyll which is a shame. I was looking forward to listening to the sea as I slept but I could just hear the fan and the music until about 2am. There isn't a huge amount of privacy as the walls are thin and you are right on the beach so lots of people walking past etc. I also struggled more than I thought I would with the toilets being outside the bungalows at night. There are quite a lot of ants/bugs/lizards in the bathroom as they are quite open, and you leave your room and go outside to the get the toilet. I liked showering in there in the day but at night I got a bit freaked out stepping out into the pitch black beach so if you are a nervous nelly like me then just be prepared. The bed wasn't super comfy and my partner got backache from it. I quite liked how solid it was for dealing with the heat! There were holes in the mosquito net but we didn't get super bitten. It is 100m down the sand so don't bring a big wheely suitcase like I did - this applies to anywhere on the island!
I stayed with my partner for our honeymoon. The location is amazing - you have your own bungalow right on the beach with your own hammock and chairs. It looked absolutely perfect! We had lovely honeymoon decorations in our room and a delicious welcome drink. The staff were super friendly and helpful. And helped us plan our journey to/from the hotel. We loved the restaurant attached to the bungalows - we are both vegetarian and there was so much choice, the breakfast was delicious (I loved the tofu scramble) and the cocktails were great, we ate/drank there most of the time because it was so nice. I found the room and the bathroom a bit basic at first and maybe expected it to be a bit more polished but by a couple of days I was much more into it. It is not really a glamorous kind of place, its more relaxed/earthy/sleeping on the beach/a bit fancier than rustic, but sort of rustic. It is hard not get sand everywhere all the time but the rooms and bathroom were cleaned to a good standard. It is amazing to be able to wake up and walk straight into the sea. I loved the showergel and shampoo provided in the bathroom, they smelled great. I liked the little foot washes that they had outside the room for trying to keep it sand free. They have some very cute dogs!

BulgariaThe walls are really paper thin, if it rains it will in the bungalow, plus you hear any sound around which if it was jungle and waves it would've been cool, but instead was the disco music near by. Strange night flies, they were everywhere(for example after switching off all possible lights, they came over my phone screen)...The bathroom was clogged, over floated, so in the middle of the night I had to jump over 3 sweet little frogs to get to the toilet...I would've not mention all of the above, but so happened the of 11 nights in Cambodia, this was the most expensive accommodation, so I found it a little strange....
Charming design, blue and pink, bathroom separated, pillows and sheets smelt amazing! Good food/restaurant, great host, who answer the very many questions we asked, helped with the speed ferry reservations!!!
