The ventilation in the room was not very good, in the evening it was quite difficult to sleep because we were super sweaty, even with the fan on.

Great location, it was like a paradise. Definitely the nicest place on the entire island — not a hardcore disco party place, but with warm-hearted staff and good taste in music and style. We also loved the food there. We have a great 2 hours sunrise yoga class. Also, the hotel was environmentally conscious, not plastics, and solar panels were used.

This place is literally phenomenal. Set in a spot that seems coming out of a fairy tale, it’s beautiful, cozy, laid back, and you can enjoy some of the best sunsets in the planet and have the time of your life. The owners and staff are fantastic, welcoming and warm. Food is outstanding, and so are the bungalows. I will definitely go again. The walk/trek to get there is ok, just make sure you reach Eden resort and start the trek from there. Don’t be an idiot like I was: ignore all signs leading to Sunset beach until you get to Eden Resort. From there, it is quite easy to walk to SunBoo. All in all, I had an amazing time, and I already miss Paulo, Cory and Nadia 😊

This hotel is nothing short of magical. The location is stunning and the cabins charming. Staff are always available to help and so very kind. It's honestly right on the beach and you can hear the sound of the waves first thing in the morning and last thing at night. My mother and I were here for only 4 days and we left with heavy hearts feeling like we wre leaving our home. The food is also the best on the beach and there's a wonderful selection!

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Sunboo for 4 nights. We were able to really relax and enjoy the slow island life with Sunboo. Their staff was absolutely incredible and I loved that they do a one day complimentary yoga to try with Cori who is a great instructor. The restaurant was also our favorite on the island - it's perfect for lounging, reading a book, playing chess, and enjoying some nomz and drinks by the beach! We really enjoyed our stay - it is more on the pricier side on the island, but well worth it. :) So much gratitude to the Sunboo staff!

I don't recommend the tuna medallions The food and drink are more expensive than mainland Cambodia, but it is in an island and a captive audience so kind of to be expected.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff all make an effort to introduce themselves to you and shake your hand, which makes you feel very welcome. I stayed in the dorm room which has a mosquito net all around it, so hardly saw any bugs. You can chill in the main pavilion restaurant all day if you like. Or there are loads of hammocks along the beach that no one seems to mind you using. I met some lovely people. The pizza was really delicious and I liked the fruit salad too I recommend renting a paddle board/kayak from next door and taking the accomodations free snorkel kits with you! The hike across is an opportunity to bond with fellow travellers!

    Nothing!

Beautiful location on Sunset Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Southeast Asia! There are no big resorts and no crowds on this side of the island. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding...great breakfasts and pizzas. Especially loved the mango salad, garlic prawns and spicy clams! (all served with fresh bread) Also, great cocktails to pair with the sunset. Free snorkeling equipment, board games and hammocks on offer. Wifi, tours and kayak rentals are available at the cafe next door (I personally enjoyed disconnecting and not having access to the world for a while). It's a bit of a hike across the island but nothing crazy (about half an hour). You can leave luggage at Sunny Bungalows where the ferry lets off at Eden Pier for a small fee (the hike isn't suitable for suitcases). We stayed in the dorm room...clean and simple bunk beds with electric fans, solar electric outlets for charging and a shared bathroom in the same building. Walls are open-air but did a good job of keeping out the bugs. It's lovely to hear the sounds of the jungle while you sleep. Unfortunately the cafe next door uses a generator and starts it up usually just before 8:00am but this wasn't a huge concern. All in all, we had a great relaxing stay on a spectacular natural beach away from the hustle, bustle and crowds.

The beach, the staff, and the restaurant made out of bamboo are really amazing! I had the best introduction and the most friendly welcome I have ever had! They have some really cute cats and one lovely dog. The staff even invited me to a Khmer birthday party! To have the opportunity to experience something like that was amazing as well! I really enjoyed it.

One of the nicest accommodations I’ve ever been to! Been here last year already and came back to enjoy the beach and the amazing food again. Very welcoming staff, they even invited me to a Khmer birthday party, it’s been so much fun! The ocean is right in front, amazing view from the restaurant. They play such good music all day. The dorm is super cozy and clean, slept really well. snorkel equipment, beach mats and water is for free. Cuddly cats and a cute dog were around. I would recommend this place 100%, I’m gonna come back!

It's hard to think of anything which could have been better. Really. It wasn't an issue for us, but the last 500 metres of the walk through the jungle are down a significant rocky descent. Not for the faint-hearted or anyone with a suitcase. Don't even think about it if you have a wheelie suitcase! We had rucksacks which were fine.

We chose Sunset beach because it is on the far side of Sanloem requiring a walk thru the jungle and thus more likely to visited by like-minded travellers. And we chose Sunboo as it looked like the most authentic place on Sunset. We were delighted on both counts. From the hot walk thru the jungle, to the welcome drink on arrival, to the FANTASTIC breakfasts, to the sublime sandy sunsets… it was a dream come true. Specifically: Food – really excellent quality and great choice. People – Corrie & Paulo have a brilliant team. So warm, calm and welcoming. Choice – 3 or 4 other places along the beach inc Breton place next door (crepes!) No wifi – people just enjoying the place, not their phones. And yoga for 2 hours in the morning.

Nothing!!! A simple FYI, the shower water can stain your light coloured bathers, so perhaps best to not rinse them off in the shower, but you’re on an island, you can’t expect perfect water :)

Everything!!!!! We had the most beautiful time at Sunboo, couldn’t recommend more. The location is impeccable, the resort stunning, the staff incredibly friendly and attentive, you will absolutely love staying here!

The mattress was pretty firm by western standards but believe this is typical of a South East Asian setup so not their fault.

The staff greeted us with warmth and were incredibly friendly throughout our stay. They were also very professional BUT made you instantly feel at home and part of the family. The food and drinks were top notch and could have eaten there forever. The location is literally paradise and well worth the walk over the hill through the rainforest to get to it. Wear sensible shoes and take insect repellent for the walk but you won't be disappointed. We didn't want to leave as it was genuinely incredible but had to as we'd only booked the one night, stupidly, and being chinese new year at the time there was not availability to extend our stay which was a shame but understandable. We would also recommend the Yoga Classes and you will definitely see the Plankton at night here UNLIKE on Saracen Beach, this is truly magical and a unique experience you should see. Basically just book this and stop looking at other options as it is incredible. Thank you Paolo and co for your incredible hospitality and we hope to see you all again one day.

Staff & Food were extraordinary! Moreover I loved the calm & easy vibe of Sunset Beach. The walk from Eden Pier — even with a big backpack is bearable. Staff welcomed me and the friend I made along the way with a cold & delicious homemade lime lemonade! I stayed in the big bamboo house where the dorms are located. The bamboo house is nicely decorated. I liked its spacious style. Sleeping you hear the sound of the ocean in the distance.
