Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceBed mattresses were a tad hard to my husband’s liking. It didn’t bother me though.
I loved the architecture of the place. Wooden buildings with beautiful carvings. Old style tiling give the whole place a stopped-in-time vibe. Pontoons go through the mangrove up to the river where chairs and table wait for you. Great swimming pool. Staff provided us with pool towels on request. We were even granted earlier checkin without extra cost. The place is quiet because off the main road. Great breakfast and the lady owner is adorable.

SwedenA lot of restaurants have closed or re-starting in the area. If the area feels to calm use ”Pass up” and take a Tuk tuk 10 min to the old ferry terminal and you will find many more restaurants than you need.
Sihanoukville have lost a lot of its small resorts. Sunbird Garden is of the last remaining. The resort is run by a lovely hostesses in a very familiar way. It is not a big resort but you get all you really need. The pool-area is a small hidden paradise. You can choose your breakfast and the coffee is really good. The rooms are big, clean and classic in a good way. Everyone is very smiling helpfully and the hostess can help with bookings. Three lovely dogs patrolling the resort and keep you company. The Otres beach is very close and it fills up with Cambodian families in the afternoon and evenings to have dinner. But there are never really much people at the beach. We stayed before and went back after visiting Koh Rong. We would really like to come back. The resort do not use booking.com any more you have to e-mail directly for a reservation.

AustraliaA beautiful oasis in Otres Beach. I had one night in Sihanoukville before catching the ferry and I’m very glad I stayed here and not in town. The room was large and had a balcony overlooking the pool. I could happily sit the garden all morning. A $8 tuk tuk ride to the main pier. Brand new fittings in the bathroom. Very clean and good AC.

Australiaonly that it wasn’t even further away from the rest of Sihanoukville (that’s a tongue in cheek joke(
in a garden setting, with a great pool, near the river and opposite the beach, more relaxed location south of CBD, which totally lacks the warmth and character of this place. An absolute gem that will hopefully survive the encroachment of sone pretty ugly over-development.

VietnamTv was a bit blurry, Swimming pool was overloaded with chlorine. A bit uneven ground walking in the garden.
Breakfast was great. Location was very quiet, occasional jetski in the river behind was noisy. Bed was good. Lovely garden. Able to walk to the river on a jetty. Very close to beach, one block away. Room was very spacious including a couch and a decent size writing desk. Had a safe.

Czech RepublicVery stylish and quality garden resort close to the beach. Quiet place to sleep, nice swimming pool. We borrowed a kanoe and took a ride on the river which is located just behind the resort. Taking Tuktuk you can get very easily to other parts of Sihanoukville. I would definitely come back as I felt very comfortable staying at this place.

United StatesPrice is a little high ($70 per night) cash only, but overall everything else was wonderful.
Located a street behind main Otres Beach street. Not far from a few restaurants, the beach, Amazon Cafe, and some convenience marts. Many options for breakfast! The pool was nice! There's a shower next to pool to rinse off and lounge chairs to lay on too. Also, about 20 minutes from the Sihanoukville International Airport.

AustraliaUnderstandably, post-covid, things had deteriated a bit, but they're in the process of renovating with due respect being shown to guests in the process.
Swimming pool magnificent and clean, room better then expected plus brilliant restaurants close by and beach 2 minutes walk away. Private boat hire 2 minutes walk away great value to go fishing, island hopping and snorkelling. ($40.00) per day.

SwitzerlandThe beds were not very comfortable. We had 2 rooms that were located in different houses so it wasn’t very practical as we had to walk up and down back and forth through the garden frequently. One of the room also had floor that creaked a lot. But honestly all these were not really problems for us! We’ll come back anytime!
We had a lovely stay. The resort was very tastefully built and decorated. The garden was lovely. Staffs were polite and helpful. The resort is secluded but we could easily order a tuktuk with the PassApp to go to the city center or other beach if we wanted too. Very close to the resort was a good restaurant called Happy Pop Pizza that offered good food and was inexpensive. The pool was great though the water was a bit too warm to feel refreshing. The beach was very near and when we were there (post-Covid) was not crowded at all.
