Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeSome of the staff have trouble understanding English. If possible, having a staff that understands and speaks English as night crew would be good. There were also mosquitoes but closing the windows solves that issue.
Friendly staff and great rooms. Nice and quiet location.

SpainI was not sure about the area, but as we rented a scooter it was the best choice. The hotel is located in a quiet area, and there are not many restaurants, but the reception will let you know you can order food for deliver. they can even help you to order it if you need help, so do not hesitate to approach the staff. they are super helpful.
Super nice hotel in Kampot! The staff were super helpful. Not all of them speak good English, but they make the effort to understand you and meet your needs, so do not hesitate to approach them (google translator is always helpful). The room was amazing: spacious, clean, and beautiful decorated.

AustraliaI am so glad I cancelled my other hotel and booked Sokchea Kampot because this little resort is fantastic. Located on the opposite side of the river from Kampot town, away from all the bars and nightclubs, it offers a truly relaxing stay. The resort is cute, the rooms immaculate, and the area super quiet at night. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant and offers limited breakfast options, but don't let that put you off booking, as town is less than a 2-minute TukTuk ride away. Transport options include using the Hotel's TukTuk service (free oneway) or ordering a Grab. We had a great week relaxing here!

United KingdomThis is such a great hotel just on the outskirts of the main town only a 25min walk or a doller for a tuktuk. They also have their own and will happily drop you into kampot for free. Will definitely be staying here again. Excellent large room with all you could need.

New ZealandWe stumbled upon this place a bit outta town, just perfect for that sweet balance of quietude and accessibility. We had a hunch it'd be serene, based on other reviews and our own road-worn instincts. And boy, were we chuffed with what we found! The staff? Top-notch, mate. The hotel? Clean as a whistle and safe as houses. And get this: they've got a fridge in the room, so I was set with my own stash of brews. But hey, if the thirst got real, they've got a wee bar to top up. And talk about convenience – just a dollar and a quick hop on a tuk-tuk, and you're smack dab in town, only five minutes away! Sure, they offer a shuttle service, but who needs it when you're living life on your terms, right? Cheers to finding the perfect spot to kick back and unwind, my friend!

New ZealandIt's a little further out (a five minute tuk tuk) but not an annoying distance.
This was my favourite place I've stayed at in Cambodia so far. The place was great - clean, quiet, well designed, and the staff were extremely helpful. There's a tuk tuk waiting to take you into town whenever you like. The best part, for better or worse, was that I had the place seemingly entirely to myself. It was a little like living in a Wes Anderson film. That's just because it only opened in October.

CambodiaThere was some smell from the bathroom drain. (To be honest this is almost every time the case with every property in South-East Asia, especially for ground floor types. It's like the siphon system is not understood on a technical level, it's annoying off course because it's very basic knowledge and very easy to solve when in pre-building/design stage, we can only hope their workforce get more skilled over time...).
This property scored actually above my expectations. We requested a room near the pool which was no issue. The room itself is very nice and built with descent materials! Also plenty of daylight and proper lightings installed, a spacious bathroom with even a rainfall shower. The pool has a very descent size and a big lower level for the small kids. Towels provided for pool use. Quiet neighborhood and still very close to town. Definitely would come again.

The whole place is great... only been open 1 year so still looks good and I'm sure they will be adding more things like some where to eat... but it's only a 25 min walk to all you need an if you can't walk 25 mins maybe you shouldn't be leaving home... an a tuk tuk was $1

CanadaWe liked everything!
We loved our stay at this hotel! It’s a beautiful brand new hotel with exquisite architecture & and rooftop with outstanding views of the surrounding countryside. The rooms are spacious & clean & the beds are very comfortable. The rooms also have floor to ceiling glass doors which overlook and open onto the splendid shaped outdoor pool in the centre of the resort. The pool water is fresh and clean, and is surrounded by a mix of palm trees, and their exotic birds with their beautiful singing. It’s a nice quiet location, & only a 5 minute Tuk Tuk ride (or 5-10 min bike ride with bikes they provide to guests) to the busier town centre and riverside promenade of Kampot. The manager, Vat Makara, is gentle, kind, and very knowledgeable about the area & history & helps arrange anything you’re interested in doing. We’ll definitely recommend this place to others & hope to be back before too long!

CanadaLovely, quiet hotel on the other side of the river from the main town. Everything was top-notch - fresh crisp linens and big, soft bath towels. The hotel has bikes for guests to use, which were in excellent working condition.. The pool was wonderful for a refreshing dip after biking around Kampot. The manager was very helpful and the staff were all friendly, full of smiles. We would highly recommend the Sokchea resort.

United KingdomHotel is far from town and down a lane no-one had heard of it. Hard to find. Lucky for Google maps. No restaurant, No breakfast or anywhere nearby to get breakfast. No hot water Note to management Shower needs to have a tray or door as it floods the bathroom. Could have mirror in room, by the desk Room needs better curtains, that close properly and not let the light in the morning Really don't need a thick duvet in Cambodia 90dgs heat For westerners, seating area by pool not on grass, as we tend to get bitten Seats on patio outside rooms would be nice Need spoon or stirrer with the tea and coffee
Beautiful hotel Very new and clean 10/10 Lovely pool Toiletries Good wifi The lady on reception was so helpful. She did everything she could to help us book a tour and bus. She gets 4 stars. Looses one star for telling us there were no trains to Sihanoukville and we had to get a bus, even though I had been told and it says online there is a train. We got the bus along dirt tracks no road and found out we were right there was a train.
