Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt's difficult to communicate and arrange things here. There are a few people who speak English enough to arrange tours or figure out travel/boat times, etc, and if they're around it's great, but if they're not you need patience. We stayed in a villa and for the price, it was too hot. I have stayed in cheap bungalows and rooms in SEA and they have fans for when you're sleeping. This building is dark and in the sun all day and the ceiling fan is not enough. The room was in the 40s when I was trying to sleep and it wasn't ok. I didn't sleep at all. If they would just give you more fans it would be ok! For the price it makes no sense. They have fans in the restaurant and main building that isn't for guests...
The location is stunning. The island is beautiful and the grounds are stunning. The buildings are beautiful and spacious and it's lovely to have a tub! The people here are very nice and the food is delicious. it's super great to have breakfast included and to have a ride to and from the boat-- walking the stretch through the hot sand that everyone else has to looks miserable with bags. The pool is huge and it's amazing to have the pool!

Beautiful old Khmer houses on an Island. Huge rooms, comfortable, no air-con on purpose therefore quite hot during the night.

FranceThe travel arranged from Kratie to Kampot should have been clearer as we ended up using a shared taxi with 10 other people and a motorbike and a chicken : it was fast but not so comfortable. It s ok but you have to be ready for this kind of experience.
Super quiet, thé location and place is amazing. The staff is super nice and helpful. The restaurant is very good and prices are within normal range for Cambodia.

Wonderful location and delicious food! - we had a lot of fun! Renting motorbikes to discover the island! Spending your time in the resort was Sonntag much more fun, then trying to watch the Mekong dolphins! Highly recommended!

AustraliaPool was a little too warm and needed some attention to black algae in tile grout lines, and could also do with new concrete surrounds.
Food was very well done! With some pre-warning, they catered beautifully for our Good Fri feast with a whole Mekong fish and all the trimmings. The staff worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable, especially during Khmer New Year when staff were light on.

United Arab EmiratesThe food at the hotel’s restaurant was mediocre- but probably we got spoiled by the great Cambodian food on the first days of our trip.
We loved the lush green environment and the villas. It is on an island and it is a little effort to get to the hotel via ferry and motorbike/tuktuk but it is well worth!

NetherlandsThere are many spiderwebs and spiders themselves of course, but this can be expected in wooden bungalows ;) There is not so much to see on the island itself. After one bike ride (around the island is about 10 km) you have seen it all.
The restaurant and the bungalows are beautiful, they have an authentic character. The buildings are made from wood and the garden is full of plants and trees. We spotted many birds and butterflies. The pool is very large and the water is nice and warm. The owner is the most caring woman and helps you with everything you need: from a boat/ferry, to a bicycle, or a reservation for a kayak trip, you name it and she will make the call! They offer a few good, but simple, choices for breakfast and dinner (European & Asian).

GermanyWish they had hot water as claimed to enjoy a bath in the lovely bathtubs and bathrooms. Water pressure was on and off, perhaps due to hotel closure for a period of time. Pool also needs proper cleaning. Owners don't seem to be monitoring booking.com reservations as hotel had no idea we were coming and telephone numbers did not respond. Despite that staff were helpful in arranging suites upon arrival. Even links on website not working to get more information. Western menu not being served due to limited opening. Cycles for rent need to be repaired, mine had no working brakes.
A beautiful idyllic resort with charming wooden villas and very friendly, helpful staff. Remote location on the tip of the island is a perfect get a away despite a little challenging to get too without any instructions given by hotel. Despite challenges, really enjoyed the stay....the discounted rates make it value for money at this time. They will need to fix the issues to be able to charge their usual rates again.

AustraliaWe had a 5 out of 5 star rating stay prior to arriving in Kratie where we could not fault a thing. They were extremely welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. As a result we were underwhelmed when we arrived. The greeting was not very warm. The staff apart from GM had very limited English if any, so this made it challenging. There was no enthusiasm or interest shown in what we had planned or how our day went which makes it more personal. Requests sometimes had to be made more than once and sometimes could not be answered. There was no extras such as offering to get drinks when sitting by the pool which is a missed opportunity not only to provide a great service but to increase revenue. The room wasn’t prepared before we arrived which removed the inviting feeling. Curtains were closed, lights and fan were off and blinds on balcony were down. The view of garden from the balcony was beautiful so it would be much nicer to see that when we arrived. I had to put these blinds up myself which wasn’t easy. The lighting in the room was very dim. The mosquito net smelt very musty. We had a frog in the toilet every morning. I didn’t realise there was no fridge and air conditioning. In these sort of temperatures I had wrongly assumed there would be. The mattress was very hard so difficult to sleep on with this and just a ceiling fan for cooling. A bit of clean up in certain areas is needed. Whilst I understand they have struggled over the past few years some improvements can be made with minimal or no expense.
The island was beautiful. It is located in a secluded part of the island so it is very quiet with the exception of the cicadas at times. The rooms were traditional Khmer wooden houses which I love.

AustraliaConfusion rained with the booking. They said I was upgraded but I was supposed to have a dwelling to myself that didn't happen. I was sharing a house. Staff were limited, they tried hard but were overworked & not sufficiently staffed to do the job. It was my second time here & to be honest next time I will remain on the main land.
Breakfast & dinner were acceptable.
