Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome kind of bedside lamp would have been welcome and more privacy in the form of mirrored glass or a film on the window.
Walking straight off the boat from the mainland onto a small wooden pier with turquoise sea lapping an immaculate white sand beach, and then see our perfect thatched bungalow waiting for us, was just what we needed after a busy couple of weeks of travelling. The staff met us on the pier and carried our cases across the sand, straight to our bungalow, which was one one of only 14, so a small intimate resort. The restaurant provided good food, served by a small team of staff who very quickly got to know our preferences. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being intrusive, and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay, suggesting activities if we wanted them and organising boat trips, scooter hire and transport back to Phnom Penh airport at the end of our stay. They got up extra early to provide us with a coffee and pack up breakfast on the day we left. There were paddle boards and kayaks available for free use, and sun beds and umbrellas on the beach which was raked each morning. Our bungalow consisted of a bedroom with circular bed and a large shower room, simply but attractively decorated with white walls and local baskets on the wall. There were also baskets and sun hats in the room for use on the beach. We got up at dawn three times to see the sun rise on the sea-worth the effort. Another highlight was going to see the bioluminescent plankton on a local fishing boat. Amazing.

SwitzerlandFacilities are quite basic considering the price, so is the restaurant. Good food but nothing special. Drinks are getting served in plastic cups (why?). Staff could have been a bit more accommodating and some people are lacking sufficient english skills, which made it a bit difficult to communicate.
Nice and small resort with spacious rooms and beautiful sea view. The grounds and rooms are getting cleaned daily. Staff is friendly.

AustraliaSuch a lovely little resort, right on the beach. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Staff were wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating. Willing to help with anything asked of them. Small restaurant, however offered a wide variety of Asian and Western dishes. Round bed is larger than what it looks in the pictures! Fits 2 people very comfortably.

United KingdomLots to improve: - no complimentary pick up from port, something you’d expect for a hotel of this price - welcome handbook just is a list of potential cost implications for any damages to room - breakfast average - we never ate at the hotel given the strength of food at neighbouring hotels - water pressure on shower derisory - room tired - had to ask for rooms to be cleaned Generally this property should focus on its service, so much potential but small things like coffee on the balcony seem like too much trouble. It’s missing all the small touches which make a persons stay.
Incredible location, great views and pool. Beach was also kept spotless.

Place got a bit older since my last stay but still good value for money. Staff is super friendly. We rented a old motorbike for 2 days and stayed on other beaches too. Direct speedboat available from Sihanoukville to the hotel. Glad to see that the old dead palmtrees were replaced by new ones.

United StatesIt could be definitely cleaner and better maintained, but I think it’s a general problem in Cambodia. Salted water in shower, sometimes there is no water at all for some time (probably not the hotel problem).
If you want to escape then this location is exactly what you’re looking for, just keep in mind that there are no stores or restaurants around. You can find options in couple hotels near by but that’s it. The hotel staff is nice and helpful. The beach is clean, quite and private. The hotel is fine for a few days stay, but don’t expect a lot from it. The room was a bit worn out, wi-if is okay.

SwitzerlandThe water power in the shower was not so good there were some pump issues we were told. But at least the water was warm.
The reception at the pier was very welcoming by the friendly staff. We liked the relaxed atmosphere of the resort. The room is quite large with spacious bathroom. There are a conoe and paddle board available. The food is great. Good selection and we liled all dishes we tried. We really felt at home the 3 days we stayed. The staff is really helpfull and even assisted in booking the bus to phnom penh.

ItalyInfrastructure and amenities were old. Older than advertised in the pictures provided. Shower water was cold and even when fixed the warm water was scarce. Although the location of the resort is on a nice beach, the price is simply too much given what is provided in the end. The staff was pretty nice and flexible, but again for this price in Southeast Asia I expected a better experience.
Position is great with nice view especially at dawn. Rooms are spacious and the breakfast is good although some more flexibility with the options would have been nice.

United KingdomLook - the property was obviously lovely when it first opened but since then it has had no refurb, so the place is run down. I have stayed all over the world and in all types of accomodation and this was like a 2 star accommodation in a 5 star location - if that makes sense. The shower was not clean - rusty/dirty with bad pressure. The water was salty but that didn’t actually bother me. I had an ant infestation in the bathroom on my penultimate day and I asked to be moved to another room, which I did. One of the main guys that worked there was a bit off - everytime I asked a basic question he looked at me like I was crazy. Item of clothing got ‘lost’ with laundry Virtually no WiFi
The beach is lovely and peaceful - it’s like a small private beach. The breakfast was nice - infact the food and drinks were nice. The 2 ladies working there are lovely and friendly. The staff and generally friendly. They cleaned the rooms every day. I slept really, really well.

PolandWell, unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay at the LUNA hotel... The hotel advertises itself as a four-star hotel, and we also chose the best room with a sea view ($120 per night) and expected at least a satisfactory standard. Our house was the first from another resort and instead of a sea view, we had a view of the bushes :) Additionally, the room was full of bugs, ants and something that bit terribly. The cleaning was thorough and yet we had bugs all the time. Moreover, the hotel has definitely seen its best years behind it, it is unmaintained, there is sea water in the pool, sea water in the shower - it's really very uncomfortable... :( The eating place is very gloomy, and the gentleman who serves is constantly standing behind you and watching. Generally, a very strange person, sometimes he was quite nice, other times he looked like he didn't care and we didn't feel welcome. There are literally a lot of better places nearby at this price, and we travel a lot and we've never found a facility that supposedly has four stars and it is so badly run. Every day we asked to replace the batteries in the night lamps because there was no other lighting - they did not do it. The lock on the door barely worked and we had to struggle to get in. Is this equipment included? it's not suitable! You can't swim on it, it's old and dilapidated. Additionally, we can compare it with other hotels in Cambodia where we were greeted with a smile every day and there was no problem (and they were half the price!) When we asked for water for breakfast. We heard that it was added to the bill! seriously?! In such a facility for $120 a night there is no drinking water for guests, even for breakfast?! We were outraged, so we were not charged and from the next day we received two small bottles of water - it's good that they understood our comments. A plus for very good wifi, because we work hard, but a minus for adding the transport fee to the...

United Kingdom- the road into the property is a very dangerous rocky dirt track so impossible to get a taxi out to other places on the island. Multiple issues with the room (stayed in one of the jungle rooms): • Door didn’t close properly so left quite a gap to outside, which meant so many bugs got into the room. So many ants in the bed! • very tired/ripped/dirty furniture • had a mini fridge that was empty (usually 4* hotels stock this with a few items) •mugs for tea/coffee had ants in them •shower was very rusty •there was heavy rain overnight, in came into the room through the gaps in the door • ‘beach’ towel provided was a small travel style towel •robes provided were stained and very worn •lots of cracks/water stains on the ceilings and walls. •no hand soap provided in bathroom •USB ports didn’t work I complained to the manager/person in charge. He came to look at the room but sort of laughed it off. I think this was down the language barrier. None of the staff appeared to speak much English which was challenging. He offered to move me to the room next door, I declined as it was exactly the same. The restaurant area is ok however it needs some lounge chairs for somewhere else to sit. There is also no music in the restaurant so there is no atmosphere at all. It was often empty as people were eating at more lively resorts down the beach. I really struggle to see how this is a 4* resort when it is lacking such basic things. The location is beautiful on the beach, I feel you could get much more for your money elsewhere.
The beachfront location is beautiful, the view is simply stunning. Food was nice and reasonably priced in the restaurant. Bed was reasonably comfortable, I don’t mind a hard mattress but if you don’t it probably won’t be for you.

IrelandWe booked a room with garden view which from pictures looks identical on inside in comparison to sea view villas however the room we were given was awful. The issues we saw in this room was: 1. Run down Villa not looked after compared to others 2. Plants beside overgrown and look awful not well maintained 3. Rusty chairs 4. Bathroom filthy 5. Not as described bathroom nothing like images given mirrors also rusting 6. Rooms next door and anywhere else for same price way better looked after 7. Internet won't load in room 8. Lizard in room (went behind aircon) and also so many insects getting in due to gaps in door 9. Water in open jug not bottles 10. Toilet smell like sewage after an hour or two of being in room and using water in sink and shower. We were then moved (only due to staff not finding two lizards in room) to a room with partial sea view and the difference was indescribable- toilet clean, room didn’t smell, furniture out front way better, wifi actually worked and no animals could get through the door. If all garden rooms were maintained similar to the other rooms this resort would be absolutely perfect unfortunately they don’t seem to care about the other villas. For anyone booking would recommend booking partial seats view or sea view room as the rooms are just in way better condition and maintained better, the garden view rooms are definitely not as described (please see images attached)
The front villas were stunning and pool well kept Breakfast was also nice however small enough portions
