The tent I stayed in was very comfortable and right on the beach so I could hear the waves from my bed.

    Nothing, it was pure perfection!

The most idyllic place to stay on the island if you want to really switch off and relax. The trek through the jungle to reach the property from Saracen Bay at first seemed long and hot but was so worth the wait! An amazing sunset greets you every evening. Such a chilled vibe here with great food & drinks and the nicest couple who run it. Free snorkelling was a highlight as we saw some amazing fish. Comfy beds and cute bungalows. We loved it here so so much and will be back!

Beautiful location right on the beach. The hostel has a very relaxed atmosphere. The sweet staff, and the wonderful owner who also cooks the most delicious food, made the stay unforgettable

Not really a complaint but it’s worth managing your expectations re: infrastructure on such an isolated beach. Accommodation is pretty basic and the bathrooms could use an update - the water seemed to go out in the morning a lot. You’re paying for the location rather than luxury, but the location is worth it!

Great location right on the beach, tucked into the jungle. Delicious food and very friendly helpful staff. Appreciated the free snorkel gear and friendly resident dogs :)

The location is just breathtaking, its a bit of a hike down to sunset the beach so it stays kind of private, ppl want to go there. The beach is pretty with snorkeling opportunities and raked sand( no sandflies!). Nothing can top waking up by the sound of waves and a fresh seabreeze. food options, keeping logistics in mind, are plenty with reasonable prices. 100%recommondation❤️

Mentioning these things for awareness and it’s definitely not a negative about the accommodation itself… We had a power cut when the generator went out and that meant the water and electricity didn’t work for 24hrs. The owner went and got a new generator and installed it within 24hrs which was a very difficult thing to do considering the isolated part of the island. The hike was quite tough with bags but doable, just take bug spray!

Great location and on a really quiet beach. Bungalow was clean and well kept with a fan which worked all night. Toilets/showers also well kept in a shared space and clean. Good food at the restaurant and very friendly staff. A really enjoyable stay.

We stayed at KAMAKU for 3 nights :) its located at the sunset beach on Koh Rong Sanloem and it has a beautiful beach 😍 The guesthouse is really nice and lovely. They have one doorm (in which we stayed in) it comes with a room but the sides are open - which is good cause it gets quite hot at night. Beds come with a van and a mosquito net (unfortunately some of them have holes 🙈) The bathrooms are okay - enough toilet paper and lights for the night but be prepared for animails (it is a jungle there hehe) The restaurant serves spanish food, burgers and really good breakfast 🥞 the team is super friendly and helps with everything you need ;) Just make sure you know that there is no reception on this part of the island (they have wifi on some spots available but only limited) Thank you and maybe see you soon👋🏼

The shared toilets didnt lock when we were there but otherwise everything was really nice !

Had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel by the beach. The beach is definitely beautiful and worth the little (and very easy) hike through the island ! The room was quite big and the bed was comft, with a beautiful view on the beach from the room and hammock. The food at the restaurant was also very good and there is a place next to the dive center that offers good coffee ✨️

The time we spent here was very nice. From the beginning they gave us very detailed instructions on how to reach the beach and this made it easier to arrive. The beach is amazing, clean and not crowded, so perfect for relaxing. The bungalow at Kamaku was cozy, clean and quiet because it's in the last part of the beach, but a bit dark. They offer mainly spanish food, but you have the possibility of eating in the other places on the beach (there are four places, Kamaku, Robinson bungalows, Sunboo and Sleeping Trees). Moreover, at Kamaku you have the possibility of borrowing snorkeling masks and playing board games.

Can be a bit expensive as there are limited places to be able to eat. Also worth checking where your ferry gets in to, otherwise you need to arrange an expensive taxi boat or hike/climb through the jungle across the island

Beautiful, remote beach and great vibe. Friendly couple that own the bungalows

Sometimes you can see trash in the drain or at the beaches next door. But the trash comes from the sea. So hard to avoid that.

Great staff, smiling, always ready to help and explain. Great view from the shared room. Chill area.

Lots of mosquitoes but that’s part of the course in that neck of the woods! Mosquito net is a must- we learned the hard way!

Stunning, small beach- only a few resorts and restaurants, all offering a range of meals so there are great options and they are all friendly and working together it seems so no hassle. Truly remote and special. Julia and Oscar and the whole team were delightful. Food delicious. Effective and easy check in and check out. We stayed in the beach front bungalow which was beautiful- better than the pictures! Great value for money. Very low key, down to earth and just a wonderful place to stay.

Food/drinks are a little pricey but we expected this given the remote location. The shared toilet block needs some tlc.

Beautiful location, so secluded, very quiet and the beach is located far away from the big commercial development that is happening on Koh Rong Sanloem. The only people on the beach were those who were staying in the 4 accommodation options. Lots of different food options over the 4/5 restaurants on this side of the island. It’s a 30 min walk to sunset beach from Saracen bay. However, for both ferry crossings we accidentally booked the ferry that took us to the south end of the bay, which added an extra 30 mins on to the walk (1 hr total). Make sure you book the ferry to the pier on the north end of Saracen bay!

    * As noted, on other reviews, some new locks on the bathrooms would be great; but that's just nitpicking.

    * Friendly staff * Unbeatable location. Best part of the beach, and I like that they made a real effort to keep the immediate area looking great. * Beach views from the bungalow. * Hammocks on the beach. * Free snorkel for use

The bathrooms could use a little love.

The location is the main selling point, but one of the reasons the location is so amazing is the staff who make sure the beach is clean. It really is a paradise. We also appreciated the attention to detail, the bowl of water at each door to wash off sandy feet and the dustpan and brush inside the room to get rid of sand where a great touch! Also, the walk from Saracen Bay to Sunset Beach is easy, even with backpacks. I was really anxious about it being difficult after reading some other reviews (as I’m not a ‘hiker’) but the trail is kept well and it was not a struggle at all! We even hiked in and out to visit other beaches during our stay in flip flops with no problem.

The price felt on the higher side in comparison to other similar options on this beach.

Beautiful bungalow at the beach front. Spacious and comfortable bed. Shared showers were spacious and really clean. Beach is beautiful. Very kind and nice staff. Quiet location on the beach. For info: The access requires some hiking (like all sunset beach). Worth it, but not suitable for suitcases.
