Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

KazakhstanEverything was perfect for us!
Honestly I have no words to describe this paradise place. Firstly I want to thank Johney, the host of this beautiful place. He has a very good heart. He was so helpful. We had everything that we needed even our own kitchen. Johney gave us towels, water, cooking supplies and more over he allowed us kayaking and it was one of the best days! Talking about the place: it’s a paradise. We were staying in local village and interacting with locals. The kids are adorable there. The house was so beautiful. It had a fan and it was more than enough for us. When you live in the nature you don’t really need WiFi so it was amazing to have these beautiful three days in the nature and waking up with the songs of the birds. OMG! I 100% recommend Friend of Nature homestay! You will never regret it and it could be your best experience in Cambodia because for us it was one of the best! Also Friend of nature homestay is situated in the north of Koh Rong, very close to Lonely beach and it has its own local Palm beach. Johney, thank you so much for being so nice to us! Your homestay is one of the best that I’ve stayed in!

AustraliaReally enjoyed our time here. Such a relaxing and beautiful place where you can really immerse yourself into a more local and nature experience. Johney also an amazing host, super helpful, offers scooters for rent, free snorkelling gear and kayaks. The hut itself was really nice, huge bed and it would cool down enough in the night with the fan to make comfortable sleeping experience. Only comment I would make is expect no luxury for toilet and shower facilities, its all part of the experience, and we found it very enjoyable but might not be everyones cup of tea.

IranMaybe there can be a net on bathroom windows to prevent mosquitos from coming in.
We stayed in the bungalow for 4 nights. It's great value for money. You'll get to experience basic life. There is mosquito net in the bungalows but be prepared to fight them once outside of net. Signal is very good so you can use sim card Internet. Johney is super helpful. He arranged a tul tuk to pick us up from Long Beach pier. He rented us scooter for $7 per day which is a good price. We had free snorkeling masks, kayak and even bat and ball to play on the beach. Johnny is always available if you have a question, he speaks very good English and is very welcoming.

FranceThere is a fan but it gets very hot in the morning.
Great location, you can rent scooters which you will need anyways to get around the island. Very calm and authentic experience in newly built bungalows, they sit on the water in a quiet fishing village. You'll meet more locals than tourists in this area and there are some great options nearby for local food and even restaurants. Johney is also really friendly and welcoming.

BelgiumThe pillows are rock hard. You share wall with another bungalow and basically hear everything that happens in the other bungalow as if you’re in the same room.
The bungalow itself is basic but really nice, with a spacious bed. The location is great if you’re comfortable driving a scooter, otherwise you’ll be quite isolated. It’s away from the tourists, with lonely beach nearby (with scooter). Johny was very friendly and accommodating. He came to pick me up from the main pier and arranged a ride back as well. The scooter rental here is probably the cheapest you’ll find on the island.

GermanyI spent very nice holidays in Friends of Nature Bungalows, however, the surrounding water was often polluted with garbage: plastic bags, plastic bottles etc. But this is in general a problem in all South East Asian countries.
There wasn´t breakfast provided. Just accommodation. A simple wooden bungalow in a local authentic fishermen village, what was very much appreciated, far from tourist area and beach parties. Ideal for having a good and peaceful sleep. Very friendly local people, providing a good laundry service. Nearby some shops for daily needs and a few restaurants with delicious food. Also possible: rent a motorcycle. The owners are extraordinary welcoming and friendly. They are very much trying to maintain the authentic Khmer culture in the village. Therefore, they are looking for guests, who can tolerate their culture, that means: keeping the place clean and tidy, no parties etc.
