Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was all fantastic
The room was absolutely beautiful. Crisp aircon, beautiful views of the beach from 2 bifold doors. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Managers were always thinking of you. We got sunburnt on the first night and they cut a piece of Aloe Vera for us. Nothing is too much trouble. Not to mention it's right on the beach. 24/7 security. Groundskeeper. Free coconut! Food was so impressive. We only stayed 2 nights but felt like we'd stayed weeks with how everyone treated us.

United KingdomNothing to fault, it really was a perfect stay. Only very minor suggestions would maybe be to add more loungers for hotel guests and maybe a bit more clarity on where to obtain beach towels.
Fantastic boutique hotel set in a tranquil part of Diani Beach. Modern and clean rooms, very spacious and we even had a beautiful sea view. We were on a full board plan and for foodies with an appetite, this was amazing. Great variety of food and the quality was fantastic. Lovely cocktails as well. The hotel is literally steps away from the sea and in a private compound, so felt safe at all times, means you don't get hassled by any people trying to sell you stuff whilst relaxing. Even then, this part of Diani Beach is definitely more peaceful than further south where there are more large resorts (so the sellers tend to focus their efforts there). Finally I must mention the excellent service from everyone here. Jas and Selma welcomed us to the hotel very warmly and were on hand to assist with any of our queries throughout our stay. Whenever we wanted to arrange to do any activities eg water sports, massage, etc - this could be done via Mercy at reception! And not to forget all the friendly and fun restaurant staff (special shoutout to Jason). Thank you all again!

Great experience! It is nice to find such an oasis of peace and excellent service in Africa. Those who write that this is not a hotel, but a home, are right. The waiter will ask when you would like dinner and let you know when your meal is ready. They will bring you a towel if they see you swimming in the pool. Yes, the pool is not big, but you can swim in it alone. Or as a couple :) We suggested to the host to classify the villa as "Adults Only" because it is obvious that couples like this place. So - if you are looking for silence, peace and comfort on Diani beach - choose Searenity beach villa. Or at least visit their excellent restaurant for lunch or dinner - you will be pleasantly surprised.

SwitzerlandNeed to learn how to make real cocktails. Maybe also a bigger selection of wine and champagne.
Wow, wow, wow…. “What an absolutely fantastic place to truly relax. It starts with the warm welcome from the owner, Mr. Jas. He explained everything wonderfully, and when we asked about breakfast-time he simply replied: whenever you like. You are on vacation here, not in a camp. The food is absolutely fantastic, and I can highly recommend it. Overall, it’s a great little boutique hotel. We will definitely come back.”

RussiaIts amazing place. We had the room with a fantastic view on the ocean. Maximum score to the hotel staff. Everyone is very polite and always ready to help. We truly enjoyed staying in this place. Delicious food, once we waited quite a long time for the main course for dinner, but it didn’t spoil our stay. I will recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely return myself the next time I visit Kenya.

HungarySometimes there was a longer waiting time for the food while the restaurant was not crowded. It was no problem for us as we spent the entire day there but the prolonged waiting times may be an issue for those who have some scheduled program.
We have stayed for 6 days at Searenity Beach Villa. Jas and Selma and the staff did an exceptional work to make our stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. They took care of all our personal requests and handled our stay very proactively. The communication went really smoothly with them. There are only a couple of apartments, so the atmosphere is very intimate which makes it the perfect place to enjoy the sound of the ocean and just to relax. The food was great and we also had a massage there which also leveled up our stay and highly recommended to try out during your stay.

RomaniaOur room looked better than it does in the pictures. It was very spacious and comfy, with all facilities - large bed, two closets, large bathroom and a nice little terrace. I especially liked that there were windows all around instead of walls (no worries about privacy though). Room was cleaned two times a day, they stocked the water every time which is a small but appreciated detail. They have security on site at all times and we felt safe enough that we didn't even lock our rooms. Location is another plus - right in front of the beach. The staff were amazing, very attentive throughout our stay, the owners are there most of the time and it really makes a difference. The food was great, we got full board and it was well worth it, you can order from the a la carte menu which is a very big plus. Sometimes waiting times for the food to arrive were a bit long but it was so good that we weren't bothered. Also you can order in advance if you want to have the food at a certain time. Small details that make a difference - water, coffee and tea, ice creams were available all day for free. The place was quiet and cosy, honestly we felt like we were at home for the week.

South AfricaSearenity was a little piece of Heaven on Earth. We loved our stay! Jas and the team went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and comfortable. Nothing was too much! We stayed for 4 nights in one of 6 (I think 6!) rooms on the resort. It is quiet and intimate without the chaos of a big resort. It is situated right on the beach - white sand and blue ocean as a backdrop for every meal. The swimming pool was a treat too! (and only open to residents). Our room was spacious, the bed super comfortable and we had a shower and very large tub to choose between. The aircon worked wonderfully. We loved that the rooms had solar power (yay for saving the Earth), but also had the option to switch over if needs be (if water was not heated enough early in the morning). There were a few nation-wide electricity cuts while we were there, but the solar power helped, and generators kicked in immediately. The WiFi was speedy and we managed to do some work while we were on holiday. We opted for the breakfast and dinner inclusive for our stay, which was flexible if we decided to eat at another restaurant in the evening (we could have a lunch instead). Jas is also the chef, and we were treated to the MOST incredible food. I can't say it enough. The portion sizes were huge and every meal was delicious and fresh! We could have a sharing starter, a main and a dessert, (and endless home made ice-cream and sorbet to our hearts content). The restaurant is open to the public, but guests were always prioritised and guaranteed the best tables. Jas was able to recommend some wonderful activities and restaurants within the area and arranged taxis and tuk tuks for us. The staff were an absolute highlight for me. So friendly, accommodating, approachable and kind. Our rooms were made up every morning and turned down every evening. I can't recommend Searenity Beach Villa enough. We hope to be back one day soon!

NetherlandsNothing is 100% perfect, but Searenity comes pretty darn close. Two things that suggest for them to improve: 1. The road to get to the property from the main road should eventually be paved. 2. Central air. Again, these are just two long term fixes. Also, maybe they could expand the size of the hotel so we can bring our whole extended family cos the place and the beach should be shared 😊.
Highlights: the reviews are accurate: boutique 5 star hotel with an amazing restaurant right next to the beach. Top notch attention to detail, security, food, caring owner and staff. The hotel, food, proximity to beach, the management, and the team are simply the best. First, Searenity and the expert was the best. The best boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed in the world, the best restaurant in Africa I’ve visited, and the best service my wife and I have received. Second, we are rebooking for our next stay already before we left and told our friends and family.
