Outstanding hospitality by Rose, Peter and Gladys. Peter makes amazing food, which I have to recommend. If you are looking for a quiet place, outside of the city Rangers view lodge is a place for you

The staff were very hospitable. We went for the nature walk with one of the tour guides. It was a great experience with lots to see.

View, the friendly staff. And most of all peace and quiet

Where do I start. Driving to the hotel can be very daunting unless you have someone to take you, or you arrange a pickup. It is a fair distance from the local town and can be expensive with the local taxis, but later I can see why. However, there is a Local car Matatu service that cost around 300 shillings per person, that takes around forty minutes, the driver seams to know everyone and stops for on route chat with tje locals. The drive is ruff road not tarmac, but givem wjere tje hotel is, is understandable. The owner is very happy to get one of those drivers to meet you at a location in the town, ie outside Family Bank. Once you eventually get to tje hotel your see its all worth the trip. How they managed to buid this hotel up in the middle of knowwhere beggars believe. The weather is different there and can rain alot, but the sun soon pops out randomly here and there, and can rain without warning, it gets hot as well. The staff at the hotel were fantastic, and tea and coffee was awaiting our arrival along with a cosy wooden lit fireplace along.with our dinner when we wanted it. We arrived late and it was dark. We were led to our rooms and asked for an extra duvet as it was a little chilly being so high up. The room was adequate with a electric shower and comfortable bed. The morning was raining very hard. But cleared up to reveal a stunning view from our balcony . I just could not stop looking at it. the tea farmers were busy collecteing the leaves. Breakfast was anything that we required from omelette/ sausage /toast to fresh fruit. There were plenty of local tours available at a very reasonable price. Our tour guide come security guard was only too eager to take us anywhere we wanted to go. From fly fishing trout on the local river, to the famous Abadare Forrest. Or a local tea plantation tour, even if we wanted to visit the famous tree tops.

Nothing that much to do for longer stays apart from possibly hiking, for those looking for more to do. I enjoyed my quiet stay there.

Loved the size of the room (very spacious) and has a balcony. The room has a nice view of the valley and tea plantation. It is quiet and the food it good! Nice surrounding area to walk around with beautiful views.

It is not the best spot for solo travellers since it is very quite, however I really enjoyed my time there!

I had a lovely time, the room was Nice and affordable and there is enough activities to do. I had the best time hiking to the waterfall. The staff was lovely and so helpful and the food was amazing. The views are stunning as well.

    Nothing

Hands down the best and freshest food we had in our two week journey through Kenya. Locally farmed chicken, fresh vegetables and tea farmed just behind the property.  This is not your usual holiday destination. Its in the Kenyan highlands and we didnt see any foreign tourists there which made it even more special. We had a huge suite with 2 double beds. The hotel is locally ownded and managed. The Kenyan highlands are an agricultural paradise, fresh fruit and vegetables and miles and miles of tea plantations. The weather is cool and the scenery stunning. We stayed here to access Abedare Park but the closest gate was inaccessible and we had to drive 50 miles away to Treetops Gate. This location is worthy of a visit, the Chinga Dam is very picturesque. The staff, Rose and Peter the chef are fantastic and a real credit to the hotel. Will definitely visit again.

Perfect location to explore the green forest and tea hills around Aberdare NP and Mt Kenya! The hotel is quite remote, but this is the best thing about it: we really got to experience the life of the tea farming people in this beautiful environment. Thanks to Daniel, we were even showed how to pick tea leaves ourselves, which was a great experience. The food was the best we have eaten in our 2 month stay in Kenya - the cook prepared our vegetable as well as meat dishes with so much love and talent, we would even come back only for the food! From our balcony we enjoyed the view to Mount Kenya - it made our stay perfect.

Nothing really. The accommodation was quite basic, but we couldn't expect any frills for the price.

The staff worked hard to make us welcome. The chef coped very well with my vegetarian diet. The views from the room and the garden were excellent. The local people were friendly

I do not recommend this place if you want to visit Aberdare National park. The park is more than 1.5 hours away (although we were told 45 minutes by the hotel guide) and you cannot see many animals in the park itself, just a few buffaloes and elephants from far away. The falls are great though.

The place is decent; it could be suitable for fishing and hiking. The food is nice, the chef prepared all food based on our taste. The service is good.
