Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

KenyaCleaning - I did not understand why YourHost charged a cleaning fee for cleaning that never took place for our entire stay.
It was a good and exceptional experience; glamping in Naivasha. The facilities were good and the kitchen was well-equipped. An ideal place to visit for anyone who wants to be up close with friendly wild animals - giraffes, impalas, zebras. The host on-site is also a delight.

NetherlandsNothing we did not like
The location was fantastic: we had zebra’s, waterbuck and giraffes right next to our tent during the day. Other wildlife in binocular distance, including elephants. And the lake is a 5 min drive away, for a boat safari to see hippo’s and many birds. Our local host John was amazing, he is the most friendly person and took really good care of us. He guided us to our boat safari and took us shopping for some groceries.

Nice tents with everything you need! There’s a grill, kitchen and every night they make you a campfire. Wildlife just comes by, like giraffe, hippos, monkeys, and even a buffalo. Bring your own food and enough to drink. John is an amazing host. Would come back!

AustriaThe tents are really well equipped for self-catering, so bring your own food. There is a farm shop called La Pieve Shop on the road to get to the property and there is an bbq available at your tent. The surroundings were absolutely stunning with giraffes and other animals walking around. The beds and bathroom are comfortable and John was really helpful! Would definitely recommend for those that a very comfortable version of camping.

United KingdomWhat an amazing place to stay by the lakes. The location is amazing with the tents totally isolated amongst the wildlife where we drove past giraffes, warthogs and zebras every day and even saw a hippo! Further to this, the facilities are brilliant, John extremely helpful and has some of the most comfy beds I have stayed in!! Would most definitely recommend!

FranceNo wifi in the hôtel but I was not concerned as I had service.
We had a really good time in Naivaisha. John was a perfect “concierge”, helping us with everything we needed. He organized all the activities for us, hired us a great cook for dinner … The tents are really cute but the real + is the animals : you get to see girafes walking by almost everyday! An excellent value for money.

SwitzerlandUnprofessional staff: we paid an extra fee for housekeeping which they never fulfilled. Even after mentioning it to them, they decided to ignore it. They offered to make a bonfire for us in the evenings, but only at check-out told us that they charge for the wood. This should have been mentioned when they offered it to us initially.
Nice location with great views of wild animals around the tent

AustriaThe road to the location is so poor that you need a very good rental car if you arrive by yourself, probably an SUV would be a good option. We were not aware that there is no infrastructure whatsoever around - not even one restaurant (even if it says so at booking.com) and not even the tiniest grocery store. So self catering got very complicated, as we arrived with taxi. We booked full accomodation by a chef some weeks in advance, at an extra charge to be paid at the property, so a chef would cook for us, but this was poorly managed so this cook actually appeared without any groceries which we then had to organize ourselves - by walking a 5 kilometer sandy path to the next available grocery store. Everything we needed at the property, such as wood for the fire place or using the washing machine, came at an extra charge of 10 dollars each, which had not been communicated before. It was also not possible to book tours there and pay with card, so we did not bring enough cash. (We already knew it’s not possible to lock the tent, they can just be closed with hock-and-loop-fasteners that can easily opened by anyone at any day- and nighttime. So paying for the tours was another challenge, because the next ATM is very far away (a half an hour drive, more or less). So this place is probably only good if you arrive with enough cash and in your own SUV and do your own grocery shopping in advance.
We like the tastefully furnished and big tents, which were spotlessly clean. Animals come close to the property, which was very beautiful.
