The airport shuttle is not free as stated in the booking’s website. Also, the reception tried to charge us more for the ride once the service was confirmed. At the end, I ended up paying the initial agreed amount, but I didn’t like at all how people in Diani Beach tries to always charge us (the foreigners) more when asking for a ride

The food is amazing, tasty and fresh. The service is good and the attention given during the whole stay is awesome. All the staff is kind. The facilities are good and the hotel is clean and neat.

The accommodation is beautifully placed on the seafront of Gaul beach with a stunning view. Perfect for watching the sunrise. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Cabins were clean and modern. Food at Sunny Side Up was also lovely with nice vegetarian options. Strong WiFi throughout and we felt very safe. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Grateful for one of our favourite stays in Kenya. Highly recommend

A true haven of peace! The hotel Lalagalu is simply perfect! This thanks to a staff both very discreet and very attentive. The entire team is extremely polite, very caring and all this with a sincere smile continuously. A big thank you to all for this very relaxing stay we needed on arrival! You met all our expectations and even more. I also tried the lemon scrub which was a real moment of relaxation and pleasure. The masseuse was very delicate and attentive to my well being. The reception team was always very responsive and helpful with everything we needed. Finally the Chief Johan is really gifted and all our meals were so so delicious !! The hotel itself is very original very well located, 50 meters from a beautiful beach. The pool is also nice, design and clean! The pool is also nice, design and clean! Sunbathing on top and very comfortable. The room is always super clean, design and very pretty. The decor is a subtle mix of wood, cement and local materials. Towels weren't always out by the pool. Only one umbrella over the pool chairs worked.

Beautiful rooms with comfy beds, soft linens, and excellent showers. Delicious restaurant with kind staff. The pool was clean and refreshing, the stretch of beach relatively quiet.

While the hotel's location slightly outside of town didn't bother us, it's worth considering for those seeking closer access to town amenities and activities. We encountered a few communication issues during our stay. Although we were kindly offered early check-in at the time of booking, it wasn't available upon our arrival, the staff did not even know about it, leading to an unexpected delay in settling in. Additionally, when we requested a late checkout to align with our flight schedule, we were surprised to be charged 25% of the current daily rate, significantly higher than our initial room rate. This fee wasn't mentioned in the hotel's policies. We were unable to utilize our initial offer, and to our surprise, no gesture of goodwill was extended to us upon our departure; instead, we were charged more than expected. So, while our overall experience was wonderful, there were occasional communication hiccups regarding these administrative topics that affected our overall impression of the stay.

We enjoyed our stay at LalaGalu. The hotel is small, which was a plus for us, with modern and tastefully decorated facilities. Our room was not only comfortable but also tastefully decorated and maintained impeccably. The restaurant and the food was also great. The Chef's culinary expertise shone through in every dish, and the restaurant's charming ambiance enhanced our overall dining experience. The entire restaurant team was exceptional, with each member displaying warmth and dedication to providing guests with an amazing experience. A special thanks to Bilali, whose professionalism and welcoming demeanor left a lasting impression. The pool area provided a pleasant retreat, and the availability of free filtered water at all times was a thoughtful touch. The on-site gym also met our expectations. Collectively, these elements added to the charm of our stay at LalaGalu, making it truly memorable and enjoyable.

Absolutely amazing!!! I cannot wait to return. The beds are uber comfortable. The pillows are perfect. The linen is white and is good quality. The food is superb, had fun trying out different dishes. The rooms are clean. The staff is pleasant and kind and helpful. The vibe is perfect, right by the beach, overlooking the beach while eating or working. Just perfect!

Would have been lovely to get a larger menu for the restaurant. Don't get me wrong, everything on the menu is amazing. It is just a shame we have a small sample menu with such a great Chef they have. One craves more. My only regret is I did not stay longer.

Everything was awesome! I’ll definitely stay there again and also recommend the place to people! The staff were great from my check-in to my check-out. The hotel has very friendly staff and were able to consider all my needs and requests to the detail. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. The rooms are sparkling clean. Beautifully positioned (cabins/pods), ample lighting, and well-designed for a quiet and peaceful getaway. The food was well made with love and quite delicious, compliments to their inhouse Chef. Overall, I had a great experience with Lalagalu; the staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate a birthday weekend.

There are a few issues like some of the fittings aren’t intact but I already reported to the owner and he assured me that he will rectify them other than that everything else was great!

The location is perfect for those traveler's who want peace and tranquil. The food was so good! The chef is brilliant and always came to check on us and made sure we enjoyed our meals. The food options are great and trust me they don’t compromise on breakfast at all! It was my birthday weekend I was spoilt! The layout of container houses and the expansive view of the Indian Ocean was breath-taking!!! The beach was not crowded because the location of Lala Galu is a bit further out from the centre but by uber it takes 10-20 mins and the boutique hotel organises transport for you. The masseuse Irene really pampered me with one of the best massages I’ve had! The pool was the right temp considering the weather wasn’t the best. The rooms are cleaned daily and the bed was so comfy. I loved the African Tribal x Scandinavian touch to the room decor. The staff are so friendly in particular Furaha, she’s very sweet and kind. The owner and manager are very hands on and ensure you’re stay is up to your standards. They are super receptive of feedback which is important. Security is also great which is vital especially for solo travellers. I would recommend this property and I’ll definitely be back! For a one month old place the management is doing an awesome job! 🙌🏽 (not sponsored paid full price for my stay) ❤️

Amazing stay, great staff! They do utmost for you and always with a real smile. The food was very very good. We switched accommodation and stayed in total 5 days in Diani, LalaGalu was our second location. I wish we knew earlier about this place. The best food in the area! We had the family accommodation, which was great. All brand new, good showers, well equipped kitchen, good matrasses. Property is clean. Pool area great, no bothering from beach boys. Easy access to the most white fluffy sandy beach I have ever seen. Absolutely stunning! Again staff is amazing and also the massages and facials, done by Irene is worth a booking!

Unfortunately, we were disappointed by this place and would not return. We paid just over £900 for 4 nights (so not exactly cheap). The main issue with the place was the breakfast. The place looks premium, the menu looks premium but consistently the food presented was a very poor budget version of the same. Eggs royale with canned salmon, french toast made with cheap sliced bread you might have in an airport sandwich, the shakshuka was tinned tomatoes mixed with sriracha dumped on a over-poached egg. At all points with breakfast food you got the feeling that management were instructing staff "this is included in the room rate, we don't make money off this, just cut corners and use the cheapest stuff". This was very obvious because if you PAID extra for lunch or dinner the quality was very good - they clearly employ chefs who cook to a high standard, but they're being provided with substandard ingredients for the "free" breakfast. Similarly, they charge you for coffee at breakfast. A very acrid filter coffee is on offer for free, but if you want what would considered a standard coffee at any other hotel (Espresso, Cappuccino etc.) you have to pay extra for it. The whole thing smacks of someone opening what looks like a high end hotel but who has no intention of actually running a high end hotel. Also the gym equipment looks nice but isn't at all functional. Much like the breakfast, it seems all about the appearance of having something available at the hotel that is high end, but not much thought has been put into delivering something high end.

The beachfront location is nice, rooms are tastefully decorated, the facilities are good (e.g. showers, the pool, etc..). Staff are very friendly and welcoming as well, engaging and really add to the cool atmosphere of the place. Awesome people.
