Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had an amazing stay at Villa Batista. Location, staff, breakfast, room, etc. Everything was abolute PERFETTO! We arrived early around 11 am and our room wasn’t ready (still occupied). I told them if there was a room or toilet for changing our clothes, they immediately told us as soon the previous guest left our room, they were gonna clean it. And so after 10 minutes we checked-in our room. Nice spacious with a view to Napoli. The breakfast was very nice and tasty, so was the terrace with views over Napoli and mount Vesivius. I want to thank all of the 3 ladies of this accommodation. They were very gentle, helpful and did everything with a smile. They showed us the perfect Ospitalita Italiana Another highlight was the free Private parking for the guests across the Villa, it’s very necessary if you rent a car to see more of this beautiful region! Definitely coming back! Grazie di tutto!!!

United KingdomNo kettle in the room, so advise taking a travel one if u like a brew in bed, but there is a communal coffee machine on the second floor. Nearest train station Ercolano Scavi is about 20 minute walk - but you can get to Naples city , Sorrento and pompeii runs from there.
Breakfast on the terrace is simply the best way to start the day, the view of vesuvius on one side and the gulf of naples on the other! Just spectacular!. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Special mention to Susy , who speaks fantastic English and helped us out via whatsapp when we missed our flight to Naples and had to fly to Rome instead then take a train down to Naples Centrale, i had called to let them know we would be arriving late evening (after check-in time) , susy arranged a taxi for us from the train station to the hotel, gave perfectly clear instruction of how to get into the locked building and our room!. And was so reassuring!. The rooms are clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, we were also even given extra coathangers when we asked. The minibar is a nice touch and good prices. Wifi really good, lovely balcony views all around the building , the lift is a great help, just all in all a fantastic place for a short break.

United KingdomOnly a few small points as the room itself was just what we expected, spacious, well organised, light and clean. So the only little things I can think of were things that just required a little titivating. wooden doors wouldn't completely shut and some of the vents on the Aircon were loose.
Great location between Naples and Pompeii, ate breakfast with the docks one side and my Vesuvius.

AustraliaOur room was a loft-style, with the bathroom and a lounge area downstairs, and the beds upstairs. It was spacious, very comfortable, and nice and clean, with free wifi. The lift in the main building was very helpful - it saved us hauling our suitcases up three flights of stairs! Staff were really friendly and helpful, and both the property and our room felt very secure, too. Breakfast was perfect - simple but tasty - and the location of the villa was also great. I'd recommend getting a taxi from the train station - it's a bit of a walk with luggage. The villa itself is in a great location though. It has great views, and is close to the ruins, with lots of great places to eat within walking distance.

United KingdomI would suggest having a kettle for hot water, tea bags and coffee in the room. I was missing my hot drink before bed.
My daughter and I liked how clean the room (towels changed and beds made up were every day) and positive the staff were. Communication was excellent. I was contacted prior to my visit to make sure I have all the details on how to get to the apartment and how to access it, who to contact if I needed assistance.

GermanyThe breakfast is good but could be a little bit more ambitious in terms of love and quality of goods - to be on the same good level like the place is designed.
We loved this place due to the villa's charme and our duplex room, the excellent interior design, quality bathroom fittings and well chosen toiletry products. Well done! The neighborhood and area's specific charactera and proxomity to Herculaneum (10 min walk) and Pompeji is great and somehow special but very local. The public train to Naples and Vesuv is a 15 min walk away. Will come here again!

United KingdomThe shower didn't drain well, the bed was quite uncomfortable, no instructions on how to use the safe and air-conditioning., no drinking glasses in the rooms. The location isn't perfect, but not far from the train to Central naples or pompeii.
Beautiful interior design, beautiful views from the rooms. Breakfasts were great. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Staff were really helpful - went out of their way to provide boiled eggs and tomatoes for breakfast which was much appreciated and set us up for the day! Also they were happy for us to leave our luggage for a few hours after we had checked out. Very easy to walk to the Erconola ruins from here, which is the main reason we decided to stay for our one night.

DenmarkOnly minor thing was the shower was in the main room which was a bit weird and it could get a little steamy when in use.
Staff was very service minded and performed extra to facilitate early check in and helped organize transport at check out. Cleanliness was good in the room and outside in the corridors, reception and breakfast area. Breakfast was good with and ok selection and we got served excellent coffee! From the room and the breakfast terrace there is a fantastic view onto the bay of Naples and Capri. From Villa Bastista there is only a short walk to Herculaneum which is definately worth a visit! Excellent stay, highly recommend!

BelgiumThe two-wing door of our room could be opened with a single strong push - not very safe! Not the fault of the apartment, but Ercolonaum is a horrible, dirty city w/o any good restaurants. Visit the archeological site, but stay in another city!
In a huge Villa (nomen est omen) the single big rooms of a spacious apartments are equipped with a small but clean and functional bath. The aircon works a bit noisy but even with 35°C outside sufficient. The habitants of all three rooms share a nice big terrase on that also a good breakfast is served.

SloveniaWe were missing a bit of air condition in the morning, the breakfast offer was nothing special, but the biggest turn off was definitely a weird smell in the room, of some kind of sour dampness. A bedroom shower could be the reason.
We had a small but cute and cozy room in a beautiful old villa, which had a free parking lot right across the street and an (original) elevator - both a rarity on our trip across Italy. There is a terrace breakfast with a spectacular view of Vesuvius and Napoli bay, and all the staff were also super kind and helpful as well. Overall a great quick stay on the way.
