How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything about San Fedele was wonderful. Joseph & Antonella are the best hosts. They are so sweet & helpful! They have a wonderful & peaceful location. I'm so thankful they open it up to travellers like us. The location is great with beautiful views. They provided a comprehensive guide with everything you need to know to explore around Siena. The accommodations are clean. The bathroom is large. Everything is comfortable and quaint. We'd love to come back with our kids in the future so we can enjoy the outdoor activity area.

everything was excellent, the best location we had during our vacation. The hosts were so nice, location is beautiful, we regret not to stay longer there. Our apartment was in the best condition. Nothing negative about this place. We are very thankful to have stayed there.

If you are looking for a peaceful & quiet stay in the fields of Tuscany, you should stay at San Fedele. The owners are super nice, communication works very well (requests easily via WhatsApp) and they greet you with sweets from a local bakery. You have a kitchen but can easily reach restaurants in the surroundings by car. Siena is a 15 min ride away. Staying at San Fedele is highly recommended!

Superb location, perfect for a relaxing stay as well as for visiting Siena and its beautiful surroundings. Hosts are very welcoming, friendly, discrete yet helpful, they provided us with very useful tips and treats for our stay. We even got a bigger apartment than the one we rented for the same price. The apartment was fully equipped, perfectly functioning, clean and comfortable. Big safe space outside for kids to play freely. Silent, beautiful landscape all around

Beautiful and peaceful place just a few km from Siena. Very attentive and kind hosts Giuseppe and Antonella, who included us with their attention and help, that we felt almost at home. We definitely recommend it if you are looking for quiet and pleasant accommodation in the heart of Tuscany

There wasn't anything we didn't like. I wish we would have been able to stay longer and if we ever go back to Tuscany, we will book at San Fedele Alloggi. 10 out of 10!
Everything! First, when we drove up to the location it was just beautiful - exactly what we thought Tuscany would look like. Then, we were met by our delightful hosts who helped us carry our luggage and get settled in. Also, it was much bigger than we had expected with 3 large bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen and patio!

the shower area did not have any hooks, which was a little strange to us as we didnt know where to put our stuff. also, no shampoo was provided which meant we had to buy a bottle just for this stay since all our other three accoms provided shampoo.
the location was amazing. of course its further away from town but you pick this because you want to be at a quiet and peaceful location. we arrived in the middle of the afternoon and had missed the lunch times as most restaurants were closed. Giuseppe promptly offered to cook spaghetti for us and it was by far one of the best meals we had in Italy. really appreciate the hospitality. I had also requested about an iron before arriving, which they put in our room too. all in all, a super wonderful time at the place. only wished i had more time to enjoy the home.
