Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomReception was short of staff, waiting too long every time want to talk to them. They let us sign a weird paper when we checked in, and we didn't understand what it is. Portrait rights or something? But it's not clear why that agreement needs to be signed and they didn't explain what it uses for.
Good location, close to the train station. Big room.

BulgariaThe lobby and the toilet by the lobby bar were not clean. A bit overpriced.
Extremely convenient location on one of the main boulevards, close to the bus and train station, a few minutes from Citta Alta. The bus stop for the shuttle to and from Bergamo airport is nearby. Spacious and clean rooms and bathroom. Delicious breakfast.

PolandNo standard cups/mugs. Only 2 paper ones. It’s not ecological and convenient. Also, there was no tea spoon (wooden sticks won’t replace its functionality on vacation trips).
Comfortable rooms and good localization (near train station and centre of lower city). Good (but repeatable) breakfasts. Very helpful staff, there was no problem with preparing breakfast package for travel during the last night of stay.

Polandplease, please buy another coffee machine for the breakfast (or at least additional machine only with hot water).... one machine for such a hotel is really causing "traffic" in the morning

GermanyBreakfast was a crowded when you came after 9:00 and might have to wait to be seated (it was a public holiday). Parking garage has a tight driveway.
Very good breakfast, savory and sweet. Great rooms, modern and comfortable. Great location, close to the city center. Nice parking garage close by, with wide spots.

HungaryPersonnel at the reception was not very professional. We arrived three people, with three different bookings for three different names, but the receptionist registered all three rooms on one name, so we had to use the same name for WiFi code, as well. However, this was only a minor event but not something that one should expect from a four-star hotel. Breakfast was much more problematic. The area for breakfast was much too small for the size of the hotel and consequentially was tightly packed with tables and chairs, so that one could hardly move among them. There was one coffee machine, so people were queuing for coffee between the tables which produced a complete blockage of the area where the food was. On the first day at 8.30 I waited for coffee 12 minutes, while on the last day the only coffee machine broke down which led to a complete chaos in the dining area. On Saturday morning at 9 o'clock there were no free tables partly because the area was full with guests partly because tables were not cleaned quickly enough. At the same time there was no bread, milk, vegetables, egg and coffee and there was no replacement of any of them despite the fact that many guests complained. It was a severe shortage of personnel as well, since only one person was working, who tried to do her best but obviously she could not. We were travelling off season, two weeks before Easter, I can imagine the chaos during high season. The other issue was with the heating. It was 20 degrees outside and 27 degrees in the room and temperature could not be regulated. So we slept with open windows, which was a big waste of energy. When we complained, the answer was that they did not expect such warm weather for March and the next day a technician would come to reprogram the heating of the hotel. (!)
The hotel is very close to the railway station. It was clean, bed was comfortable, even the pillows were more or less OK, which is very rare the case. I especially liked the juices available at the reception.

The location is perfect, in walking distance to the shopping area, train station & to the funicular to the Alta. The bus stop for the No1 bus up from the hotel which will take you up too. This is also where you can hop on for the airport too. The staff are very helpful & polite. Rooms are clean as is the rest of the hotel.
