Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalEntrance with no information of how to enter the property, no information of where is the reception, no one to help us with the luggage, rooms very old and dated (I should have guessed because there is no photo of the rooms in the description of the hotel), no information about the rules of the restaurants... I can resume it by rooms that don't correspond to a 4* hotel and poor information about everything.
Outdoor space with all the nature, staff, private beach with private seats

DenmarkThe bed in our room was horrible. We got a bit older room, which was fine with us, the small room size is also acceptable, only the bed was really uncomfortable. most of the time had to wait a lot at the bar for a glass of water despite paying for All inclusive service, had to pay 100 eur to use the swimming pools (which we never intented to and never did)
The property is excellent! Beautiful, clean gardens, green areas. Perfect beach! Food is good, escpecially the pasta dishes. Most of the staff is very helpful.

Germany- The all-inclusive offer is a bit of a joke. You get free beer during the meals and there is a happy hour each day when you get some few drinks which mainly consist of ice cubes. - the check-in: instead of a hearty welcome we were asked to pay right on the spot a variety of partially incomprehensible extra charges. Not very elegant. - the mensa: consistent source of stress. Short opening hours, always long queues and always very similar food. And it's very noisy in there. No comparison to a "real" restaurant. Eating outside anywhere in the village was impossible due to the wasp plague that occurred this year. - the rooms: they are quite old and small. Air-conditioning not really working. You do not want to spend any unnecessary minute in these rooms.
- The beach is quite nice. - Also the staff is very friendly and engaged (such as the waiter Nicola :)). - The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. - The kitchen for the babies is well equipped and the staff are always eager to help

Portugal•Rooms are outdated •beds aren’t comfortable •AC in the rooms don’t work well •showers are small and bathrooms outdated •assigned tables at dining hall with shared tables with other guests •lack of variety of drinks. No orange juice, no Diet Coke and lack of cocktails included •not clear about all inclusive and full board. This hotel is a very complete full board but not all inclusive •extra surcharge at checkin of €117 euros for card to access •bracelets must always be accompanied by card to get drinks. This is annoying for a family that might want to do separate activities as there is only one card. •Only one soft drink allowed at dinner & lunch. And the soft drink can only be Coke or Fanta. Anything else is paid for. If you want more drinks, you must cross the grounds to the bar and bring it back to the restaurant •Anytime something was questioned, the response was always “that’s the hotel policy” •dining hours are very short. Breakfast: 7:30-10:00, lunch 12:30-14:00; dinner 19:30-21:00. •If you don’t have a car, there is no where near to have a meal. If you miss meals during those times, other than the vending machine, there’s not many options •each beach towel has a deposit of 10euros which is normal, but children don’t have access to a towel. You must pay an extra 6,50€ plus the deposit for a children’s towel •Rooms could have been cleaner. Linens not clean well and in need of updating. Some towels stained or ripped. Found silverfish bugs in one bathroom. •The beach restaurant is impossible to eat at with the wasps and bees around •No Wi-Fi in rooms, only in common areas •When we complained about AC not working (and other issues), it took 2 days to speak to a manager. Once we spoke to the Director (Rosana), she was very kind and helpful and solved most of the issues. Including switching rooms. The AC was better in the room we switched to, but not great.
•It has a ton of activities available for guests. •Excellent for children as they have a day care for them with many activities to keep them entertained (although mostly Italian children, so it may be difficult with non Italian speaking children). •Excellent beach •Meals normally have a wide variety of food •Staff is friendly •Resort has: tennis court, squash, racquetball, volleyball, soccer, horseback riding, children's small water park, theater, gym, lap pool, two other pools with diving board and slide, kitchen for parents of children under 3 to make food/heat milk between 6:00am - midnight. •bathing area at reception bathrooms with toiletries and towels for checkout days •canoes, paddle boards, sailing and scuba all available to guests. Some free of charge •Each room is assigned it’s own chairs and umbrellas at the beach •For a full board, it’s very complete.

HungaryWifi is nearly unusable, even the mobile network is slow, definitely not 4G speed. Room was small, needs some refurbishment. Noise insulation does not exist. This resort is not really prepared for foreign families, vast majority of guest were Italian. English is barely spoken. Evening shows were purely in Italian.
Paradise for childrens: good pools, with different depths, water playground, normal playground, full day animators for childrens, horse riding, tennis courts, entertainment programs in the evening. Sandy beach with pleasant clear water temperature. Shady gardens and pathways, well maintained areas. Wide variety of foods, delicious meals, lot of fruits, fine desserts. Staff was very kind and helpful.

SwitzerlandAs others said, the rooms could be little updated but are ok still. i find the resort fee is unnecessary and should be just built into the hotel price.
The hotel is well equipped for children and family vacation. The gardens are great, beautifully kept and provide shade. The resort is typical resort with program, activities etc. The location is not close to a town so it is a bit isolated but it is right on beautiful and reasonably quiet beach. We tried to go on some of the trips offered but it was not possible. The food was good, tasty, good choices - again like any resort, it gets repetitive but there are enough choices to choose differently. we enjoyed our allocated beach chairs. Playground and facilities are really good.
