Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWiFi didn't reach my room, and was only available in the common area.
Albergo Anna is located in the picturesque old town of Perugia, and given the steep climb up from the railway station, the only way to reach it is by taking the MiniMetro and then the escalators (unless your budget extends to getting a taxi). But once there, it is a convenient location from which to reach all the sights. The albergo is old, but that is part of the appeal, however don't expect mod-cons everywhere. Cesare, who does a lot of the work, was very helpful.

GreeceThe main dislike was the very poor quality of the breakfast (which was the reason we chose this property over similarly priced Airbnbs)

United KingdomThe Hotel was as the exact description provided, apart from the paper thin walls, my room across the reception and next to the door entrance made it difficult to relax and sleep.

AustraliaNothing to say
I was born in Perugia, so I know Italian Culture and the antique style and history of the city, so there is nothing to complain about the building. If tourists prefers something modern they should book outside the city. Albergo Anna got everything I needed, Madam Katia was excellent and very friendly, the room very clean. The position is the best to visit the heart of this beautiful city. Thank you so much for having me🥰 I ll be back for sure 😊

ItalyThe one hostess was particularly rude and abrupt
The location is amazing. We were greeted by Diana, who is absolutely amazing! Really made us feel welcome. The next morning there was another lady who was quite abrupt and a bit rude. But I would still recommend the stay here... amazing old house, in spectacular Perugia.

The location was perfect, right in the centre of Perugia. The hotel was situated on the third floor of a historic building with amazing features and a nice view from the bedroom. The staff were friendly and helpful

GermanyThe hotel is an adaptation of a personal home in a historical residential building, and the owners seem to be living there together with guests. This is not a problem, but maybe not every guest's preference.
The hotel is a historical home, with incredible cure for the decoration and the furniture.

PolandThe hotel is located in the old historic building and has potential, but it's high time for some renovations. The room and the bathroom looked quite old (e.g. there was a lamp fixed with tape, there was a hole in the wall, the lights made a strange noise when turned on). You could remove some of the furniture to create more space and reduce the clattering. The bathroom (especially the shower) was very small. I have to leave the door open to avoid feeling claustrophobic.
The location is perfect - in the heart of the old town (250 meters from Piazza IV Novembre). It's close to minimetro station. The bed was big and comfortable.

SwitzerlandThe walls were very thin and one could hear people talking outside. Luckily it was calm in the night, so it was not a big problem. The breakfast buffet was bad.
The location of the hotel is the best aspect about it.

ItalyThe building is really beautiful and well-located. Although it looks really old it is well-conserved. Don't expect luxury but it's comfortable and cozy, even when there’s a strange smell in the bathrooms.

MaltaCan't complain. Stairs were not as bad as I imagined them to be. Wide and not high, so not difficult to go up lifting baggage in both hands
Perfect location in the city centre. They even sent us direction how to reach the accommodation. Breakfast was very abundant with bread, pastries, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. Room was very clean and towels were changed everyday. everything is decorated in vintage rustic style and was lovely lit for the holidays.
