Quite noisy during festive evenings due to pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby, but we liked the noises we heard - Italian and Spanish music :)

Artisan, charming and kind of aristocratic experience in the very heart of old town. The airport and other buses, ferry to Egadi islands, restaurants and cafe are in 3-5min reach.

It can git a bit noisy around midnight/1 am on the weekends. I guess it's the bar around the corner nearby. Earplugs will help you sleep through the night.

Spacious room in a beautiful historic building. The room is decorated beautifully and tastefully. Communication was very easy and staff was very helpful. The breakfast was once taken at Ai Lumi, the other time at Nuova Birreria around the corner. If you get confused, you can use the Booking chat to clarify - very quick responses! The AC works beautifully - even in winter time for heating.

Oh, in this place you can feel yourself like an italian aristocracy! The design, furniture, paintings, elevator, rooms - like you are in old style villa with a great sea view! The host was also very friendly and helpful. It's easy to find parking nearby (paid) and city center is near. Breakfast is included and served in the cafe on the same street and for our surprise they were working from 06:00, which allowed us to grab us take away for our early flight back. You should be aware that place is in city center and you might expect some night noise from people, but it was a known issue for us.

Exquisite interior, it’s like stepping right into local Sicilian history with direct vues on the sea and the harbour. The property is litteraly around the corner to the hostorical center, the beaches and restaurants without the inconveniences that mostly come with them. The host was very kind and welcoming (always with a smile), helping us with lots of good advice about restaurants, free parking, tours and interesting venues.

It's pretty hard to find many negatives, but to mention: The fridge is pretty small for a hoarders like us, but still usable for water+some cheese and hams, not suitable for anything too perishable though, as it has pretty low cooling performance. Given the tap water is not drinkable in sicily, we relied on 1.5/2L bottles and could use some more space to cool some. There is a normal sized fridge in the kitchen though, kitchen can be made available on agreement with the host. Wi-Fi had good strength, but was disconnecting sometimes (or maybe roaming between repeaters/APs, or it could be just my phone) not a big problem because we had EU data plan, and it started in a minute, but worth mentioning if you rely on it.

The building is old, meaning preserved old and has historical feeling, ergo soul. Not some low-cost-ikea style, we felt like in historic italian movie. <3 The view to the sea was great! Great location, just in the middle of the port, 50m of the transfer bus stop, ferry terminal and ticket offices and car rents. Possibility to store stuff before check-in(we arrived early) elevator. Antonella, the host was very friendly and helpful, explained everything around the house, city and even provided some calls for us when we wanted to rent a vehicle. They even allowed us to use their washing machine in the middle of our stay to wash 3 loads of clothes, and provided drying racks for free. They gave us additional clothes rack when saw how many clothes we had over the chair (whoops :) ) Water kettle provided upon request, plates+cutlery automatically. Everything was clean and elder cleaning lady was cleaning around every morning (incl. clean sheets, soaps, towels), we didn't need it as often though so we rejected a few times. And the breakfast! They give you breakfast tickets (anything from the menu, pastry + drinks / granita for each guest) to the nearby birreria, so troughout the week we tried nearly everything on the menu and it was fantastic! Probably the best managed accomodation breakfast we've ever had. Another great thing it is not time-limited, so you can eat breakfast everytime between opening (6:00) till around lunchtime (latest time we went was 11:00) The noise problem some mentioned is solved now, every window in our room (and other windows we saw too) has soundproof windows with outer and inner wooden shades, so we heard basically nothing even on friday night. AC in the room was clean and functional (great during the heatwave), the remote broke during our stay, but was promptly replaced shortly and a workaround provided.

The only flaw was that mattresses were really too hard for our back, a problem that can be easily fixed by adding a memory foam or latex top.

The place is absolutely charming, an aristocratic family house, which has turned the top floor into a bed and breakfast but kept intact much of the decor (there is even a small exhibit of 19th century family memorabilia and an extensive library). The host was very kind, helpful and attentive, the room incredibly spacious. Location is great.
