Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe pool, while beautiful and clean, can get windy and chilly (the roof blocks the sun).
Beautiful hotel. The room was very nice and the hotel was very well kept and clean. But the best part was Ruchama, the PR Manager. We had an issue with the front desk at check-in and Ruchama took care of it (and then some) as soon as she heard about it. She made sure we were more than compensated and our stay was lovely from there on out.

BrazilI didn't like the treatment that some employees give to guests. For example, one day it took 27 minutes for my car to arrive, another day the security guard stopped me and asked for my ID, I refused to show it and demanded that he ask everyone to come in! He was rude, and I chose not to complain to him at the time, he was prejudiced, and instead of seeing me leave the hotel 2.3 minutes earlier, he was on his cell phone! I recommend security monitoring with a fisheye camera, and systems that are more respectful of guests.
I really liked the location. The hotel hall is good, breakfast is good. Small room, and they don't clean it properly.

AustraliaThe wait staff in the dining room were terrible. They were so slow and sometimes i would order a coffee at breakfast and leave after half an hour because it hadn't come yet. The staff need to learn to smile and be more welcoming. I also felt the pool being under the roof was unpleasant.
The location was great. Ruhama, the public relations manager was amazing! Nothing was too much for her at all.
