Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s not that I didn’t like anything about the property, but it stated it had a restaurant etc…but was never open. I just felt the owner could be more accommodating as he refused our taxi driver to turn around in the yard…making it difficult to reverse on to a main road.
Beautiful property, with stunning views. The room had a great shower system, with ample space.

KazakhstanThe cameras after two weeks make you feel a little strange, even if they are for your own safety, it stops you from being totally relaxed. The Ac in the room with bamboo roof and on sunset side…it’s time for an update. It was the only issue and otherwise a great experience. If you are working in the room, you need to be able to cool down and stay cool inside.
The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and the pictures don’t do justice. The garden was created and maintained with such love. The place makes you feel home and happy to return. The pool is gorgeous, you swim with petals falling on your head. Location is really nothing with a bike, 5 mins and your are in central town. Really good Sushi restraunt opposite the hotel. Food and prices at the hotel are also decent, very comfortable to have breakfast brought to your room.

New ZealandNo dislikes but the trade off for such a location it is a little out from the centre of Ubud. However no problem if you have a scooter (many rental places nearby) or use Gojek or Grab for the short commutes.
Nice tranquil location to escape the busy hustle of Ubud. Very friendly staff. Excellent facilities and amazing pool and garden areas. Our room had views over the rice fields which was an added bonus.

AustraliaPerfectly fine place to stay. It is a little dated but is clean and comfortable. It is a little further out of "town" than I expected, but the walk after dinners did us well.
The 2 bedroom villas view over the beautiful greenery and Infinity pool was amazing. The grounds outside of the villa are stunning and well kept. Staff were diligent and friendly cleaning the rooms every day. It was a lovely, quiet atmosphere away from the traffic of Ubud. I think this place may be struggling to recover post covid, and some fundamental pieces of equipment need replacing, namely the umbrella and pool lounges which are old and broke under our weight when laying on them.

IrelandThe food we ate on the first night upset our stomachs but it may just be our western stomachs adjusting. The location did not have much around. There were bugs in the room and the loudest racket from a bird/ birds outside every night, very difficult to sleep.
The staff were very attentive. The room came with a shared kitchenette with one other room which was handy as we weren't close to many restuarants. The surrounds were stunning with rice fields, plenty of nature and a lovely swimming pool.

IndiaThe pool water had a bit more chlorine / chemicals than I was expecting, kitchen could be stocked with a few small plates and bowls. Rooms have only AC, no fans. Sometimes one does not need air conditioners all the time.

NetherlandsFood. The breakfast was very good. For meals the kitchen was quite limited. Of course, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Language. No complaints about the reception, but the household staff would do well to brush up their English.
A quiet place right inside Ubud city. The hotel is in traditional Balinese style. The greenery adds to the relaxed atmosphere. The swimming pools are charming. The place is kept spotlessly clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

IndiaThe staff particularly a girl named Krishna was very rude. The room intercom system doesn't work, you have to go out and find someone from the hotel staff about any service, even then they will not listen to you, which was a very pathetic experience. If you are ready for self service, then take this hotel and expect nothing more than a room. There were so many Ants in the room, we had to repeatedly ask hotel staff to do pest control. We have taken a villa with kitchen and they are providing only 2 half litres of refillable water bottles only and you can't ask for more if you need to cook baby food. If someone is taking villa with kitchen, then at least put a camper of water bottle in the kitchen, how someone will cook without water. I had taken a villa in 2 other places in Bali and the situation was not like this at all. The owner doesn't pick the call during your stay for resolving any problem related to the villa, so you are on your own and wish to checkout sooner.
The villa was good.

AustraliaOther places in Ubud provide drinking water dispensers. This villa does not which means you get 2 small bottles of drinking water every day which is not enough. Instead you must carry heavy water bottles to the villa for drinking purpose. This is really annoying.

PortugalUnfortunately the Indonesian tourism boom and construction madness just ruined our stay. It doesn't matter how nice a property is, if we're unable to rest properly. I have been to Bali in 2013, as well as 2 trips in 2023. The differences are abysmal. We don't remember having a moment of silence throughout our stay, so we ended up sleeping late, waking up early, and not being able to rest during the day either in our room. Summing up, the disturbances were : Friday evening - either a neighbor or the property itself conducted late night construction, with hacking, hammering and similar noises until really late (1-2AM). Loud traffic noise. Saturday afternoon - several people working on the roofs, talking, as well as construction noise. Saturday evening - road construction going on all night, which curiously started at 1AM. Including heavy duty trucks dumping rocks and other materials, as well as drilling and other construction noises. Sunday afternoon - several people working on the roofs, talking, as well as construction noise. Sunday evening - well, there was no construction on our last evening. However, animals are probably scared of all the noises mentioned before. So when there is no human-generated noise, animals will be animals. We were woken up by a shouting contest between a bird, a dog and a rooster, from 4AM until the morning. The roads and pedestrian pavements nearby the property are undergoing major development, so this source of noise will probably continue for quite some time. It doesn't help that the roof of the Villa is thin and made of wood. And it doesn't really matter that the Villa is far from the road. The noise can still be heard like it's really close. Fortunately our stay was only 3 nights, or we would have probably cut it short.
It's really a shame that such a nice place can feel like a nightmare stay because of little details. Overall we liked everything about the property. Read the cons section for clarification.
