The bed wasn't comfortable and the bathroom wasn't great. Furniture was just really cheap and for the price I would have expected a little better. It was ok but I don't think I'd stay there again unless nothing else was available.

The member of staff I met was friendly, I only saw that one person. The location is great.

The bathroom was very small in the room initially given to me. Also a portion of the floor carpet was wet and had a very musty smell in the room. Thankfully the hosts changed my room to a bigger and newer one free of cost the next day.

The downside was that due to poor sound insulation there were noises coming in for many hours: during the day there were the washing machines, from early morning till late at night some trashy music was coming from a nearby fitness club [quite weak but audible]. One night there was some party nearby with a lot of noisy people coming out in the inner courtyard - I woke up at 2AM wiht the feeleing I was in the market square at rush hour. People coming and going even at night can be heard at times. All this can be solved with a good set of earplugs.

I like staying there for the location and the price. But it's kind of "you get what you pay for", so it is very sparsely furnished. This time I found out they had extended with some new rooms [I got one], facing the inner courtyard. This meant less street noise, but the sound is like the rest, very poor, so other noises come in. The matteress was also better and provided better sleep support. The staff is very nice [despite very limited English] and allowed me to get in much earlier. During my stay there was a steep drop in outer temperature [one day 27 Celcius, the next only 7, during the day, going to 3-4 at night] and they started offfering some heating, although only for a few hours. Could be better if they have more things for kitchen and bathroom. There was no slipper for example. The quality of towels very poor. They definitely need to do something about cleanliness of the hotel overall.

It’s a no frills hostel, sometimes borderline unclean.

The hostel was good value for money especially for the location. The main city attractions were at a walking distance.

Downsides: the place was made by parting a larger space into smaller rooms with walls made of panes that provide no sound insulation, one can hear just about anything happening around. The windows are vintage and provide little protection from noise and cold; it can be very noisy due to street traffic around. The rooms are very scarcely furnished, with only the bare necessities and those are of the basest Ikea quality. Being at ground floor and having a tall building opposite, there is little natural light. The mattresses are already used up and not very comfortable. The heating is scarce, only a few hours a day, so the temerature inside is quite low in the cold season. There is no air conditioning, so it can be hot in the summer. The cleaning is made only between stays. The duvets are small and thin, there are no spares. Very small towels. A double room fits best as a single; 2 people may have difficulties in staying there.

Best asset - location, easy reachable from the airport with bus 100E (directly), close to many lines of public transport, having nearby many places to eat, several services and shopping facilities. Located at the ground floor. There is parking space in front, but finding a place may be difficult. There is a common space with cooking facilities and a fridge. The price is fair - there are many other places with similar conditions at higher prices.

The only inconvenience is that there is no sound insulation. We were upstairs, you could hear the comings and goings of everyone in the hostel. Same for the people downstairs in the shared room or the next-door bedroom. Most people were respectful about the noise after 11 pm. So if you are a sound sleeper like me, you can cope with it but if not I recommend somewhere else.

Hobar is located in a quiet street. Less than 10min by foot from the Central Market Hall and 5min from metro M3 and M4/tram/bus. Perfect location. The place was really clean. The room was small but cozy. There is a functional kitchen with a few tables available for everyone. As a chilly person, I was quite happy with the heating. The host was really friendly and nice.

Admin is a kind old man who understands English a bit; system of check in is outdated. It was super boiling in room, not clean, shower is strange: you press the button, there's water for 30 seconds, then you need to press again. Bed linen seemed not cleaned. All sounds are loud, if you want to have a rest, don't choose this place

The room I stayed in could probably do with a fresh bit of paint and the bathroom was a bit small. You also have to push a button every 20 seconds to keep using the shower.

A clean, spacious room in the centre of Budapest. Bed was comfy and I liked the fact that they had little discount cards for various places at the reception.
