Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgNothing. Everything was fine. Only - You Have to take 73 steps up (I counted!). But we didn’t mind. The hosts also helped us carry our bags up. Not suitable if you have mobility issues.
Great view. 5 mins to old town by Uber (costs only 6 euros). Clean place. Equipped kitchen. Hosts are very friendly, kind and super helpful!

FinlandThere are a lot of stairs to get to the apartments, since the apartments are at the very top, but this was not a problem for us. You can also get there by taxi.
Fantastic view from the balcony. Very clean and comfortable apartment. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are all necessary kitchen utensils. Host of this apartment was very friendly. The old town and other places of Dubrovnik are within walking distance.

United KingdomNot a case of not liking but be warned the steps are steep and not for the faint hearted. To get a view as incredible as this you have to work a little.
The apartment was lovely and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. The view of Dubrovnik was simply stunning.

IrelandBe mentally and physically prepared for the fact that Dubrovnik is built into a mountain and consists of lots of steep steps and slopes. As this apartment is high up, you will be faced with the enormous challenge of many steep steps in the heat. The walk down into the old city is not too bad, and takes about 25 minutes. A taxi to return back will cost approximately €20 which is quite expensive for what is only about a 7 minute trip. If you are adventurous and feel confident in your stepping abilities, we counted 436 steps and a couple of steep slopes to get back to the apartment.
Dubrovnik View Apartments most certainly had amazing views over Dubrovnik Harbour. This apartment was spacious, comfortable and very clean with all the amenities you would need if you are preparing your own food etc. There was a garage available for parking the car, which is an added bonus given the limited parking around Dubrovnik. We were warmly welcomed and given advice on the best places to visit and types of excursions that might interest us. The shower/bathroom facilities were lovely with hot water readily available. The AirCon in the main room was powerful and a cool relief to recover from the high heat of the day's outings. If you enjoy seeing sunsets, this apartment offers probably one of the best sunset views in the city, due to the height and unobstructed view.

AustraliaThe family who run it are the nicest people ever. We arrived late at night and they insisted on coming down the stairs and carrying our luggage up. When we asked if there was a washing machine they even offered to wash our clothes for us, which we couldn’t let them do. They also have a beautiful dog called Marvin who loved the ball the bought him. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice place to stay or is missing home and wants to feel like they’re with their family again, as this is what it felt like.

United KingdomThere are quite a few steps to navigate up to the property so would be tricky if you have mobility issues.
The family who run this property are the kindest , most genuine people. Ever so helpful . They even brought our luggage to the ferry port so we could enjoy our last morning in Dubrovnik without any stress. The view from the balcony is stunning.

CanadaThe property was in the hills and there are a lot of stairs to get up to it. It was totally great for us but if you have mobility issues then it probably wouldn’t be a great fit. It was in a residential area and so there wasn’t any restaurants etc to walk to and so we just needed to plan accordingly. Very minor but they needed a stopper in their kitchen sink to wash dishes and a broom to use. Children are messy and so it was abit harder to clean up. ;)
The host was lovely. They were kind, responded quickly and were helpful. We were able to drop our bags early and leave them later than checkout. It fit our family well and everyone had a great sleep. It has a fridge and two burner stove top which we also used. It was a 7 min ride to the old town and about that to get to the ferry. We took a taxi and it cost our family 15 euros to get to the old town. There was also a bus that could take you in that our host told us about. The view was also quite beautiful.

GermanyThe house is situated at an elevation, but I think it's a no-brainer that you will have to climb a few stairs, but I guarantee you, that if you are able bodied, then it will be worth it.
The view is just absolutely astonishing. Quite surreal to wake up to this every morning to have your brekkie or coffee. Just never gets old. I also have too give a great shout out to Emma and her family who take care of us while we were there. They were the most delightful people and helped us before we even had to ask they will guaranteed make sure you have a great stay.

Not the best place if you want to cook there. The stove doesn't have a lot of power and it was nearly impossible to boil water.

RomaniaThe balcony and the view are the main attraction. The balcony is very narrow, has no privacy to the next apartment, and the outdoor furniture is the cheapest ever and very uncomfortable.
Big apartment, everything nice inside, fully equipped kitchen. View was wonderful. Private parking in garage. Host was very nice and helped with luggage up the stairs. If you go to the center using the route suggested by the host it's not too bad to walk, we did it in both days. The most difficult part is at property and you still need to go up those stairs even if you get an uber. (no stairs only if you ask to be taken on Jadranska main road but don't know if it will work- there is no place for cars to stop).

United Kingdomlots of steps to go up and by a busy road. unfortunately did not come with a hair drier either. The Tv did not have any English channels but this was ok as we were out for the majority of the way. there was not any clothes storage, just a few shelves but no hanging places. other than that, this was a great stay.
the views were amazing from this property. it was very spacious with a tv, sofa, a separate bedroom and bathroom. very clean and the table and chairs on the balcony were great. very helpful and friendly staff, gave us suggestions and recommendations of where to go visit and restaurants. hosts allowed us to stay past the check out time and held our luggage until our ferry came at 3pm.
