The room was a bit stuffy. The windows opened into the inside courtyard so there wasn't much airflow.

Their hospitality. We checked out very early at the end of our stay, and because we were not going to be there for the breakfast, they packed us a to go breakfast. That little extra care in their guest's comfort was the cherry on top.

It is a bit noisy, but we didnt mind

The staff is really friendly. We could leave our luggage at the hotel for a night when we went to the Acatenango vulcano, which was great. We came back for another night after the hike and we got a room with wood eating flies, but they gave us another room when we told them about the flies, which was great. The location was perfect! The breakfast was also really nice and in the afternoon there was free coffee/tea/cake. Would recommend to stay here!

No ceiling fan, drain in shower was broken, mattress not the best. Probably just got unlucky with our room on ground floor but all the positives about Mesón de Maria outweigh the room issues.

The location of this place is excellent, central and near many attractions. I love the attention and kindness from all the staff. The attention to detail in every corner of that beautiful hotel makes you feel at home. I love this place so much I return to them every time I return to Antigua. As a single woman traveler, I highly recommend staying here.

My room was small (single) and dark. WiFi is very spotty. No air conditioning or fan. Your only ventilation system is a window to the common patios so it can get noisy. But I didn’t mind. The common spaces are so beautiful, the staff is super friendly. This would not be your hotel if you are planning to spend a long time working in your room. But If you use your room only to sleep at night, this is a great option in Antigua.

The common spaces are beautiful and very well set up. The terrace has magnificent views! Please bring your coffee in the morning and enjoy the scenery.

Room can get a little warm because of no A/C. I kept the window open but then not much privacy. Not a big deal though as I only stayed for one night.

-Breakfast was awesome in the beautiful courtyard - they booked the shuttle bus for me, picked up at the hotel which was very convenience - Staff were all friendly and helpful - exellent location - 2 bottles of water were provided in room - shampoo was provided

The cleanliness and smell of the bathroom could have been better; the hand towel was stained.

The location is excelente if you want to visit all the historical location of the colonial city. All the ambience is colonial and the social areas are well equiped. The breakfas was good and sufficient.

A gem of a find in the centre of Antigua. Set around a courtyard with numerous sitting areas and a big roof terrace with views over the town and of the volcanos . Excellent breakfast , comfortable room, exceptionally clean, friendly helpful staff, great value for money .

The charm of the inner garden comes with the noise of travellers - I understand that this is due to the guests, but a polite warning could be posted to get their attention.

We had 2 different rooms as our stay was broken up because we spent a night on the volcano. I had requested rooms with a bathtub, however I was unable to use either as the first one would not fill properly, and the second one had a faulty drain plug. During the second part of our stay we had a gorgeous suite with very comfortable beds, but there was some sort of construction that began at 0700. It sounded as if they were going to break through the wall.

We stayed for 3 nights, although not consecutively as we did an overnight hike on Volcan Acatenango in the middle of our stay. The staff was very accommodating in holding our luggage while we were on the mountain. The breakfast is fantastic- tipico desayuno, but delicious. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. The afternoon cafecito was a very nice touch, and the banana bread was delicious.
