What not to like: location is excellent, the commodities were super comfortable (like sleeping on a cloud), the communal areas were amazing for hangouts but not loud, the breakfast was delicious and varied and the kitchen was super well equipped. The staff is super nice! Definitely one of the best hostels of my latam trip

The home-like atmosphere was felt through our whole stay. It had a quiet atmosphere, a really well equipped and amazing kitchen. They had about everything you could need. Even olive oil and a lot of spices were present. The breakfast is also plenty since it is buffet style. Staff were always helpful. The 10 bed dorm was spacious enough, never felt too crowded. The lockers were big enough to put big and small backpacks in. Overall it felt really clean and there were plenty communal spaces to sit. Also had a great location inside the city. Simply put, this was the best hostel in our 6 months travel so far!

It’s so comfortable, cost, stylish, clean and homey. I spent 5 days here and barely left, as it was so lovely to relax at “home” and be able to cook in the super well equipped kitchen, and sleep comfortably.

A very minor detail when you take all the positives into account, but the coffee could be a bit stronger :)

So many amazing details here, this really feels like a home base. The kitchen is incredibly well-equipped and spacious, you can make simple or elaborate meals. There's a spice rack of 20+ seasonings, sunflower oil, olive oil & garlic provided for free. Breakfast has a lot of options, and they serve a cake every day at 5pm. There are lots of great areas to relax in, the terrace has a beautiful view of the volcanoes and equipment for a basic workout or yoga practice. The beds are super comfy, I really appreciated having two pillows! There are curtains on the bunks and multiple sockets by the shelf with a light and a little fan. The showers have soap and moisturizer. Also great WiFi for video calls. It's definitely not a party hostel, (it feels like a place where people come to relax for a few days+), but everyone is still friendly and chatty. I extended my stay twice!

It was a really comfortable hostel. Super clean, really nice staff. The rooms were nice and there were a lot of places where you can just sit and chill. The breakfast was really good as well. Couldn’t have wished for anything better honestly.

We went during Easter / Santa Semana so the price of staying here (and elsewhere in Antigua) were sky-high - but that was only to be expected.

The hostel itself was wonderful. We stayed in a private double room that was extremely comfortable. This is not a party hotel and despite being full it was lovely and quiet. The facilities here are great and the kitchen was well equipped and the public areas were comfortable and extremely clean. The location was perfect only a few minutes walk from the main plaza. The municipal market and supermarkets were about a ten to fifteen-minute walk away

The shower in the dorms had bad drainage and a bad shower head. There were not enough pool lounge chairs and the ones available were filthy or damaged.

The only thing I didn’t like was that there were mosquitos in my room and they would bite me all the time lol I stayed in two separate places in Antigua and never got bit in them.. only at Barbara’s Boutique Hostel! I wish they would spray repellent or something in the rooms but it really did bother me that I got bit so many times in my room by several mosquitos. Other than that, I feel like the double room with TV is a little pricy. Paid around $320 for two nights, then about $100 for a smaller room when I added an extra night.

The property is beautiful, it’s nicely decorated and I very much enjoyed the hostel. The breakfast is good and there’s a kitchen for people to use. The room I was in was very nice, with a TV too!

The attention to detail is amazing so nothing not to like!

This is a really great hostel - one of the best I have ever visited on my travels around the world. Dorm rooms including storage areas very well designed. Relaxed welcoming friendly atmosphere. Spotlessly clean. Super breakfast and late afternoon snack plus all day option of tea and coffee. The reception staff knew my name and were really helpful too. The perfect location to explore this wonderful city.

Property is in excellent location close to main square. Property is kept in pristine shape with facilities that go way over and above expectations, fully equipped kitchen, great living room, terrace with amazing views of volcanoes and a space to work out too. The staff is exceptional, very friendly and even got me hot tea because I was coughing! Breakfast is very good. Cleaning and property up-keep never stops always ensuring maximum comfort of all guests.
